Actually, since critical hits are tied to speed stat in gen 1, they're actually far more common than they are in the more recent games just in general.
You mean like the "Good AI" always picking the move that has a super effective type against your Pokémon, even if that move literally deals zero damage like agility and recover?
Gen1 has notoriously bad AI. Any Jrose11 watcher is aware of this. Gen2 did see a starch increase in the AI's capabilities but it can still do some dumb stuff sometimes. It seems as the generations go on, they improve even more.
The critical hit mechanic in generation 1 is based upon a pokemon's base speed divided by 512. Critical hit increasing moves such as slash and razor leaf have their crit rate based on base speed / 64. So for example, in gen 1, Electrode, with the highest base speed of 135 (for the time) has a 27.2% chance to crit in gen 1
Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokemon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites. Well, competitive battling threw that out the window.
Sadly the major problem is any game Nintendo ends up publishing from companies that work for them they usually throw luck based gimmicks to over take skill, I'm starting to realize all the AI in Nintendo games is always much different than the physic engine the player uses. Very good example is Super Mario Kart.
The Double Hit, Double Crit, Double don't give a Shit
Werster this made my night haha
#PoemOfTheYear
That's not the Starmie I initially thought the title was referring.
Kneefoil ?
Not gonna lie he had us on the first half.
That's the rub
The year is 20**. The Pokemon Master is decided by who owns the most Starmies.
DirEnRefused 20XX
DirEnRefused That Crit, plus special drop, lmfao
*uses glitches to have 255 starmie at once*
>Misty
>Dugtrio
>Thunder Wave spam
>LT Surge
> All Fire types
They gave leaders coverage, great
Would be a real easy game if it was every battle was predictable
Got it from Brock.
Crits seemed to happen ten times as often on Stadium.

crit chance % in gen 1 is (base speed / 5,12), so yes, it is more common
4:24 A werster appeared from the shadows
really threw me off since he had a starmie too. i like the rouse
Not gonna lie he had us on the first half.
The computers in this game are smart though. In the handhelds I feel like they make dumb decisions

Red's Pikachu laughs at you from hell with every thunder you miss
3:26 When you hear something really interesting
Ouch.
5 crits in a row, the old games meta are such an odd luck
I hear that Gen 1 had higher crit chance for higher Speed stat. Odd.
Jami Cassidy this is gen 3 game
I'm pretty sure this is Pokemon Stadium 1, and even if it was Pokemon Stadium 2, that is gen 2, not gen 3.
Jami Cassidy ohh sorry I didn't notice when I first saw the video until now

Attention people, there's an earrape.
more thrilling than Super Bowl LI 😂
a good pokemon trainer is determined by his skill not luck
NyaZy Zy a true pokemon trainer is determined by their ability to crit and hax
Can't spell Skill without Kill, and with that mindset you are the former

Cuzyzy A good Pokemon trainer isn't a good Pokemon speedrunner
