  • Hey there, DIY enthusiasts! Today, we're diving into the world of concrete countertops and the exciting journey of polishing them.
Polishing a concrete countertop is a two-step process. The first step is to grind the surface using different diamond grit screens. This process not only helps flatten the surface but also removes any imperfections, making it smooth and ready for polishing.
The second step involves using progressive diamond impregnated pads to polish the surface. These pads come in varying grits, starting from coarse to ultra-fine, allowing you to achieve a high-gloss finish. The polishing process is both challenging and rewarding, as you can observe the progress of your work with each pad change.
So there you have it! Polishing a concrete countertop may seem daunting at first, but with patience and practice, you can create a stunning surface that will beautify your home for years to come. Thanks for joining me today on this journey!

That’s a sick looking kitchen & counter top mate! Good to see the videos back.
The Americans I’ve seen are the best in the world at working concrete, most are Mexicans and they’re next level. Check out Habitar Landscape from San Diego 👌🏼 unbelievable

Mate, timing, just done an 8'x4' garden workbench top, same as yourself, 2 1/2'' thick concrete with rebar, did put the fiberglass reinforcing in the mix around the outside edge where the rebar stops and there is a bit of an overhang, finished with a pour of self leveling, gets a glitter stencil in a wet slurry tomo. That counter top looks nice, not flip flop resin and wobbly plastic mesh.

The polishing disc are usually designed to be run under 5500 rpm, that grinder you have is what 9-10 thousand. The actual wet polishing grinder has a constant flow of water. You are simply just grinding the concrete. There isn’t an American actual contractor pouring concrete countertops using whatever you are talking about. TikTok isn’t real life or informational.

@@DanielBrain-gp1lz 421 was the mix from Travis I used and yeh some melamine boards from Selco.
I screwed some 9x2 to the underside of the wall then screwed the melamine to that 100mm above the 9x2 so it had plenty of screws speeding the weight. Did have slight issue with the melamine bowing slightly with the pressure
