Nice review of this Barton brand. The original MGP version of this is WAY better than the Barton version. So, if you can find the 6 year MGP, buy as much of it as you can. The Barton version is just ok.

Hey Jason ...thx for the review of BH. One of the first one's I bought when I just started to get into bourbon. One you forget you have...but it is no doubt crushable and could do a lot worse. A good beginner whiskey to introduce a friend to who wants to get into bourbon.
Good to know, JC! Don't think it's anywhere in NY but I'll keep an eye out. I see that Chattanooga 111 behind you. I remember you gave it praise months ago and I bit. Liked it very much but found it a bit harsh. Fast frwd a few months and it's settled beautifully, no longer harsh, wonderful prolonged finish. Really nice. Love to get your thoughts on that open bottle.
@@TheMashandDrum Ooh, looking frwd. They'll be a real force if they keep this up. (Driving to LI later, just across from the Nassau Coliseum, I'll say hi for you : )~
How about a "Worst Whiskies What's On the shelf?" Treat yourself to the subtle complexities and wonders of a blind flight of Benchmark, Kentucky Gentleman, Imperial, and Four Freedoms! (Just be sure you have paramedics standing by 🤣)
That red light coming out around the edges of the Mash & Drum plaque on the wall behind you is distracting. Maybe turn it down or if you can change the color make it something that is less clashing with the wood.
I found a 6 year bottle of Big House in Michigan a couple of months ago, they claim the bottle was named after the Univ. of Michigan's football stadium which is nicknamed the Big House, probably not true though.
If you can get it, Binny's carries a brand called Clark and Sheffield ( I think it is a store brand) that I've been looking at but have not pulled the trigger on. Always a little scared of the < $15 bottles.
I have never seen Big House before. But from the description of take some banana pudding and throw some black pepper on it and that's what's in the bottle, I think it's ok that I've never seen it around here before. That does not sound good. 😂😅
I'm surprised you got as much banana as you described lol. On the nose I usually get sweet fruity sugar (almost like smarties candy) and the palate is very rye spice forward. I do have trouble picking out banana notes regardless unless its Jack. Definitely one of my favorite sub-$20 though and I'm excited to see how the 120 proof that's supposedly going to be released this year will be. Hope it hits ohio
Just picked it up in NC for $20.
Looking forward to trying it out on Christmas. 🎄 🥃
Great job
I’ll keep an eye out for this one
Great review and comparison. Thx.
I had some years ago and liked it
Really like that you review some budget stuff...great reviews!
Really appreciate how you review bourbons like this in addition to the expensive, hard to find ones

Speaking of Barton and 1792, I finally found a bottle of 1792 Single Barrel, took 5 months of searching. Cheers!

Not sure if this is on the shelf where you are, but I've always wondered about backbone uncut bourbon. I'm seeing it alot at my local specs.
You should try Riverset single barrel rye! $45 in Texas, barrel proof, unfiltered 9 year rye. Great value.
How about a review of the BIg House 120, not single review on TH-cam.
Excited to see your thoughts on this as I just opened mine this weekend. Didn't think it was bad for under 20.00. Classic bourbon flavors.

Same experience. Really blossoms over time. My next review will be for the Chattanooga Bottled in bond so will be comparing to the 111.

Never seen this in any of my stores but Banana 🍌 and Black 🌶️...I pass...for $18.99 , I'll buy WT101 every time...cheers.

Always wondered about this one

Color change seems to match the bottle colors…or the holiday? (4th of July?)
How about Buck 8 Year Old Bourbon for next week's what's on the shelf Wednesday?

How bout Eight & Sand or Old Forester 100 for what’s on the shelf?
I love Eight & Sand’s light fruitiness for the summer. Love it. Obviously different from OF 100 (also great). Good suggestions.

Here’s eight and sand.
Wooo
Havent seen it around me

Your WOTSW intro needs your voice saying "its Wednesday!" in a very high pitch voice. Anything less corny than that would be a mistake 😆
That shit is bananas
