Any decent coach is going to exploit the fact Brad Underwood refused to recruit a point guard.

Illinois: we don’t shoot threes good.
Illinois: let’s chuck 37 of them.

For UT being a guard dominated team, they don't have a single guy who can create their own shot. Every game there's a couple of 4 minute droughts where the Vols just can't score a basket. This team is going to do what it always does: win some regular season games, and choke in the round of 16.

I don't disagree with you on the droughts, as there was a significant one at the end of the first half where UT scored 4 points in 7 minutes. I will say that Knecht is a difference maker for this UT team, one that UT hasn't had in a few years. Awaka and Aidoo are showing up and will continue to get better. I would like to see more drives to the bucket instead of pulling up and shooting.

You're mostly right except for Dalton Knecht. The scoring droughts usually happen whenever he's on the bench, and he definitely can make his own shot

The 4 minute drought comes from shooting too many errant 3 balls without anyone under the paint to catch the offensive rebound. The probability of scoring 3s always drops the more you shoot them. 3 balls shouldn't be a necessity but more of a luxury. The key is playing the inside game and then drawing the foul. Problem is some teams are so stifling on defense that its hard to play the interior. That's why its important to constantly be moving with off ball screens etc. Basically guys just have to find creative ways to get open on the inside. If you watch Kansas, they do a really good job of that offensively.

DK has shown he absolutely can get his, but aside from him you’re correct.
