Hobbyist barber here. I bought the TPOB Play last night, partly based upon your last video. Just saw this one this morning, and nothing is making me regret it. I’m finally giving up my Oster 76 Classic for this to go wireless. I moved to the 76 from the Senior almost 20 years ago because the blades got so hot. My wife and I have five sons, and they would fight to be first for haircuts on Saturday mornings so they wouldn’t get the hot blade on their heads.
My plays work all day. Quite reliable 2 speed feels great in hand tapers great. All around best clipper for me. Plus the grips and stand are things that TPOB include vs other guys you got cough up more dough to purchase them.
Spot on with the magic clip mate. Dies too quick, good work horse though. What do you think about the senior for cutting hair with bulk. I find it struggles with thick hair.
Thanks for the update. Re the decor, would love to see what changes you make. Im all about renovating etc as well. When it comes to translating, what languages are you dubbing your vdos to? Also i have heard about that laser hats for hair loss but not sure if it works. Let us know how it goes for you.
Thank you. I’m translating into the most popular ten languages on each particular video. So have three videos now that are in different languages. It varies slightly I think because some styles are more popular in certain parts of the world. But there will always be Spanish, Portuguese, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Indonesian.
Want to know if you got this the play free or paid for it..? Because lot of barbers online get it for free and rave about it.. I think the clippers are great for a while but noticed most of the tpob products stop working from 3 to 6 months.. and they have the worst customer service ever.. to the point it's not worth the hassle. Never buy a tpob products again
Some of my members were talking about the clippers, I messaged TPOB and asked if he'd send out a set for me to test for my audience. So I was sent the clippers for free and did state that at the start of my review. But by no means does that earn a favourable review. I have plenty of clippers and don't need free sets. My opinion of them is that they are very good, but like you said I still want to be saying that in six months time. If at that point they still work as well and I have no issues with them, or if they break, I will update channel viewers.
I think what you need to bare in mind with TPOB is they are a brand new company thats gone from literally a bedroom brand to worldwide company really quickly so the clippers you got that lasted 6 months were probably his first ones or some budget ones, the PLAY and XO are real top end premium machines
There’s another review it’s a 6 month review I believe. His PLAY is beat to shit nd says it still works great . I personally own 3 PLAYs and I have them all set up differently with different blades. One of them is stock. One of them I took off the clicks and changed top blade to a thinner deeper teeth One for detailing. Looking to get a 4th one and going to put the Blurr blade on it. I also keep a senior on deck tht I use . And have a shit town of other clippers that are out away for now.

You won't regret the TPOB at all, it will be like night and day compared to the Oster

I’ve never had any problems with bulk using the senior. But that might depend on the hair type in your area and long term wear on the blade.
