From the first note she took my breath away❣️ I could only listen in silent awe 🙇🏼♀️💜. Her pitch and timing is pure perfection. She carried the emotional tone of the song from beginning to end. Stunning and spectacular is all I can say. OMG - thank you God for her lovely gift.

Oh my sweet lord!!. What a beautiful rendition. One of Cole Porter’s most lovely songs and Kelli just gave it the best it could ever be. I am a musician /singer and I know what to expect harmonically and emotionally but even still the last climax just moved me to burst me into tears with the emotion of the climax ,the most perfect performance and Kelly’s voice sung with such conviction to the lyrics. Oh what music can do to a person.

I've already watched this several times and plan to watch it many more times in the future. Absolutely brilliant! Ms. O'Hara is so gorgeous to listen to. And I loved the warm, wood color of the recording space. This video is a keeper.

Well, Kelli O'Hara does for this grandest of songs just what Patricia Morrison, Alfred Drake, Marin Mazzie, and Brian Stokes Mitchell did in earlier times: sing it to the heavens.
Kelli sings it like Kathryn Grayson. I like how Kelli's voice is controlled and supported . Her vibrato is pleasant and gives you a Snow White vibe. However, Rachel York's rendition of this song is still my favorite: she starts lower, but, it gives the song more room to transform and grow before that high note punches you in the heartstrings. Anyone who can sing this Cole Porter masterpiece with such emotion is worthy of praise.
I enjoy your comments but I've lost count of how many times I've listened to Kelli's version. It gives me the shivers. But I suspect a lot of it is down to the wonderful quality of the video.
@@cphbanfb I have to admit I have a bit of nostalgia/bias with Rachel York's version. Hers was the first version of the song I heard. A also I auditioned with this song in her (York's) key for a local musical (for a spot in the chorus) so I have tons of 'memberberries there (and heaps of nostalgia.) The people I auditioned for noted that they liked that I started lower and built up to the high note. I was the only one that auditioned with a song not from Les Mis, Cats, or Phantom of the Opera, so I think that's how I got the spot. That saying, I think that Kelli's version is the happy medium between the original key and punching with emotions. Tbh, if Kelli sang it in York's key, I may change my preference.
Not here to debate whether or not Kelli was “miscast”. Just here to state that I think her voice is magnificent as is the song itself. This gave me goosebumps.
