You're 100% right man, dipping your toe into some philosophy might make things even clearer - google Materialism vs Idealism and find out why looking for happiness out "in the world" is a fool's errand. Bernardo Kastrup explains it best. Then go deep into Advaita Vedanta, Zen or non-duality and blow your mind completely!

Hi Christian. I agree with what you said but it's also because working as an online content creator helps you to move around freely. TH-cam, instagram, and other social network and sharing sites helps people move from a 9to5 job to a more comfortable life.

1st off... you started off with debt by going to college... 2ndly you never needed a shirt and tie to make lots of money. 3rd If you were situated at a young age to travel you would know the world is a oyster and you could have done both.... I'm from nyc which is way more expensive and faster than Canada.. I have a good paying job with new York city transit. your midstate was already jacked once you went into corporate tring to chase a dream... I travel 4 to 5 times a year overseas 11 to 12 days each trip... so I know how to balance life I've been traveling since 7 so my outlook on life was bright and I knew how to manage day to day life situations... ✌...

il be retired with over 8k a month pension and still be comfortable to travel and live the way I want content creation is cool but who wants to sit on a computer for a few hours into your late 60s still working thinking about where my next pay is coming from.... life is about balance and sharing those moments with a family obviously you didnt learn that yet... once you make kids and share these experiences of travel and watching them grow into there own will be better than anything your experiencing now.... I'm 48 my kids daughters are 31 27 18 and all of them have seen the world ten times over and as they gotten into the real world they continued to travel and share these experiences with my grandchildren its about legacy not vlogging on TH-cam for views for extra income living from pillow to post spending the equivalent to what you would have living in Vancouver Canada... I have friends in Canada Toronto who travel for days in and out manage a social life and family and still work a good job..

You're a great salesperson, Christian, I've always believed that, and your product is very professional. The truth is that most of us believe there's 'something better' for us (not many of us enjoy the 9-to-5, after all), and many of us fantasize about 'living the dream' in some exotic, faraway place. Sadly most of us don't have your drive, relentless self-belief, entrepreneurial skill set, or your particular advantages.
Your videos are aspirational - part motivational, part travelog. The photography and editing are top-notch (kudos to you for that). Watching them, it's easy to imagine we could do that, too. The 'digital nomad' thing is interesting, but very rarely comes unclouded by wishful thinking or any honest exploration of the pitfalls, the realities, and, perhaps most importantly, the raw statistics (its failures vs. successes). I'm willing to bet there's a pretty sketchy and unhappy tale to be told there. Naturally, those involved in it (especially those promoting it and perhaps making a living from promoting it - which in the case of 'digital nomads' seems to be an unusually large proportion of those involved) don't want to lay bare the often very harsh realities of it.
Still, irrefutably, you have proven 'the dream' can be achieved, but I suspect that hasn't come without some considerable cost (in every sense) to you. The vast majority of people, while perhaps mesmerized, tempted, by the lure of living the life you have built for yourself (and which you yourself now extoll), are simply never going to make it. This is important to mention, not as any specific criticism of you, Christian, but of the whole 'digital nomad' phenomenon.
As you prove ('career is number one'), one has to be a very focused, business-minded individual, resourceful, creative (in the right way), and conscientious in work habits and financial matters. This isn't 98% of people. The 2% make it (like you). The rest discover that 'digital nomad' is not what they imagined - although, perhaps, it can be for a short while before reality comes crashing through.

Exactly, the young dreamers tend to fall in these glamourous trap and it's too late they realise it and hit hard. I wonder even this youtube guy is happy! 9-5 can be good for many people! Your comment is rare, I appreciate you highlight these kind of unseen truth.

It is that exact mindset that will guarantee you (and many others) won't ever make it - by pointing out the odds you won't make it so you don't event try. The people who "make it" are the ones who understand the odds but refuse be stopped by them. No, not everyone is going to "make it" but if you go for it and refuse to quit your odds go up considerably, especially compared to the 0% chance if you never try.
At no point did he say it was easy to do what he's done. At no point did he suggest that it's for everyone. At no point did he promise immediate success.
The #1 biggest reason that most people quit is that they aren't willing to deal with the extended period(s) of uncertainty, sacrifices, and setbacks that the successful ones who stick it out are. Yes, the odds are generally going to be stacked against you, but it's not talent, it's rarely circumstances, it's simply a mindset and a refusal to settle for anything but your dreams.
Most people wouldn't take off on a one-way ticket unsure how they would make money like he did. Most people wouldn't put themselves out there even when they're nervous until they got comfortable on camera. Most people never walk away from the stable income of the job they hate. Most people are unwilling to do many things that he and the 2% are.
"The difference between winning and losing is most often not quitting" - Walt Disney

I've been following Christian for a couple of years. Nobody is happy all the time, but I think he is quite honest about his journey to live a life that he wanted. That doesn't mean that it is for everyone, and definitely it will take a lot of effort to do what Christian does. He puts career first. Always remember that. Sacrifices will always come with that!

    let's face it:
    1. you can move mostly if you come from a "strong" country & not a poor one.
    2. one of the only things you can do after quitting your job in order to get good money is "travel combined with youtube" and having your income coming from that strong country.
    3. if you have a stable income, you can really live in a cheap country for a long time.
    4. you have to publish a video about difficulties in the new destination.
    5. don't you miss going to a library, movie, concert, football game, playing video games, having a variety of places that sell a good slice of new york style pizza?
    6. married? kids? then it's another story. completely.
    7. not every country is willing to accept you. most of them don't (unless again if you have money or moving to a cheap destination).
    8. if lots of people will do what you do, then your dream and income will be at risk one day. just imagine that every day you will have 1000 videos of "WHY I LEFT HOME", less people will watch you, less revenue....

    • @sparcousa

Now at 23 i can proudly say I never even started down the corporate route after university, im an LCA student, and I have been living on the road full time for almost a year building my own TH-cam channel and my own course about the things i am most passionate about. Im just filled with gratitude for learning at an early age that life isnt about the THINGS its about the EXPERIENCE. Thanks Christian ❤

Wow. Yesterday afternoon I was sitting in a park w my friends here in Canada having the EXACT same discussion about how staying in your comfort zone by never leaving home can become the most oppressive decision you’ll ever make. Then hours later your video comes up. Obviously the universe wanted me to experience this video to reinforce how I’ve been feeling for years now and intensely the past few months. I’m SO glad you talked about not listening to the news!! While I think it’s important to have an awareness of what’s going on in the world, I really think listening to news every day is just mentally EXHAUSTING and so unnecessary. I’ve tried to tell my dad this. He listens to the news on the radio at 9am, 1pm, 6pm and then 10pm!! I feel so much happier when I’m not listening to it, because at the end of the day most of it doesn’t need to concern me. I hope people read this message and turn off the news and listen to music or podcasts or TH-cam instead! :) spread happiness not fear

This video is seriously making me consider packing all my stuff and move out to Bali. I'm in Taiwan. It's my home. but I feel stuck, unmotivated and stressed. I'm not happy with where I am. and it makes things worst sometimes when I'm the only person making my way on this path. I feel the most alive when I'm out traveling and exploring. I'm a part of the LCA but I'm still at a spot where I'm still struggling at the moment and I began to hope to rush my way out which let me tell ye does not work ~ But I've recently picked up the camera again after sitting in a rut for months and I made another video that I'm hoping would bring some positivity and motivation back into my life. but as I'm almost finished I got scared again that I could still feel defeated after sharing my experience through this video. But this video is giving me another boost! What an incredible video that hits deep! I will complete this video I'm working on and I'll be sharing it with the LCA family soon! Stay tuned and thank you Christian!

This was the first video that popped up when I opened YT something is telling me to go for it! I can’t get your course right now but hopefully in the future I can.

Great! You're outgoing, you're young, you are fit and not ugly... And you grew up and grasped TH-cam/Social Media early. Plus, you aren't married, don't have kids and can travel at the drop of a hat. Reality for some of us is that we are tied down and not able to just pack up and move or change careers that quickly. I helped my wife build an equine business that provides income for her as well as my daughter. They love their freedom, they love their careers, but me... I'm that 85% you mentioned. I hate my job... even though it is a good job for the most part. I've helped create other people's dreams but I haven't created my own yet. Hard to be happy even though I have so much to be thankful for... My struggles right now. I live through your travels so thank you for sharing...

    • @indianahoosier5794
      @indianahoosier5794 ปีที่แล้ว

PS. Social status has never really been a drive for me. It has always been more about building things, having projects I can afford, and having the money to build them/share them with others. Being able to create a painting or drawing and then selling it to someone who appreciates the work. Or building a picnic table for a family friend who doesn't have the means or skills right now. Those make me happy but they don't come as often as they need to... nor do I have the means to do it as much on my own. I could care less about the opinions of others when they try to steal my joy. I am so blessed already and so thankful too... and that is what I struggle with deep inside.

Moving doesn’t necessarily change the person. Its more important to surround urself w people that fit ur ideals and finding a job that you can enjoy. Yes, most people have to struggle the first few years as an adult. Leblanc would not financially be struggle had he stuck to it and moved up in his high end company. Sounds like he’s kinda selling a fairy tail. Most that move solo into a place where they know no one, they end up moving back. No matter where u live, u need money. If its cheap living, it wont pay well. If u live abroad, u need a good online job, or cater to the expats. Careful if u plan to move abroad. U need to know where u plan to work and live, otherwise ull be calling ur parents for a flight home. Lifes a struggle. Most successful people had their struggles. Some people are fortunate to follow their dreams and it works out. Dont be afraid to fail, but dont be silly to think anything is easy. Leblanc worked his ass off and constantly learned and grew.

Quality set of clips pulled together on this one. You picked some winners. I'm not exactly sure what an LCA accelerator sessions exactly include, but it sounded pretty awesome. My travel plans today include walking in the open space by the house.

so, i’ve been thinking of moving to europe for about a year, and i found your videos yesterday. i watched some of them but not this one. i kept mentioning the UK, but yesterday i saw a flight to lisbon and i changed alllll my traveling plans just to go there. alone. such a big pull i haven’t felt in a while. so, you mentioning lisbon in this is enough for me to take it as a sign i need to leave canada.

In the past city life was what everyone been dreaming for to reach the top position and lavish life... Now that's no more the case.
But for me it's not necessary mean I have to embrace being digital nomad, but to follow my passion of becoming an enterpreneur of natural products which operates far from city life.
I too am pursuing my accountancy with ACCA but I don't plan to become those cost or tax accountants trapped in cage.. I plan to open business that goes with my passion and from there I can use my accounting knowledge which is still important.
We need to think out of box to truly live with freedom

I had never seen one of your videos until beginning research on Bali.
I think it’s not coincidental at all either.
I’ve worked hourly/9-5 jobs since I was 15. Currently working at one of the nicest Spas in the world at 19 and couldn’t be more unhappy with my current job situation. The office, the cubicle, the same pay for different work ethics…
Recently I felt the calling to go to Bali. I can’t tell you why and I honestly don’t remember what sparked it. All I know is I made the choice. Almost like I cannot deny it anymore.
I hope we do cross paths so I can say thank you for strengthening this passion to live life as if it’s my last day.
You are seen and appreciated. Sending my love ❤️

Ive been fortunate enough to have lived abroad for 6 months, and yes uprooting for a month sounds ace, but the current climate can be frustrating without that remote job, or savings. If I leave, I'm moving out, completely. Not as easy as it sounds. thanks for the inspo though.
