Thanks Jim for the tip on Scratch-Out and Meguiars. Sure is a lot cheaper than what you buy from the woodworking stores, and seems to work just a good. Can't wait to try it.

Enjoyed the video as I just found it. I turn a lot of resin but just starting on bottle stoppers. I am starting with the Niles brand. Regarding the shavings collecting and winding around the shuck and tale stock I keep my air near my left hand and hit them hard with compressed air and it will tear them right off.

Watched it a couple of times, there is a lot of good information and a great approach for a beginner like me, Well done. I don't use the skew on acrylic yet, when it slips, it is awful so I have been using carbide and you are spot on, easy does it with VERY LITTLE pressure. Super finishing ideas as well.

Hey Jim! When I'm doing anything with acrylics I keep a tooth brush handy and most of the time it helps to clean up the shavings. Just stick it in like a brush . Just be sure when you get through that you clean the tootrh brush up real good so your wife won't suspect anything when she uses it later!

Shop vacuum hose about 3 inches from work peice works for me I put a paper towel around filter with rubber bands easier to clean up Thanks for sharing also put a couple drops of dish soap in your bottle old time body man told me that

Very interesting Jim I use the Maguire's and I was just talking to some turners the other day and I said that that I was talking about using a cutting compound (Scratch Out) so now there are waiting for my feedback so now I'll have to live my little mountain home and travel into the big smoke to buy some Merry Christmas from mine to yours from Downunder Australia
