Charity is hands down one of the best Christian songwriters of this generation. Her lyrics are genuine and sincere, not pretentious or contrived. It's soulful but not "emo".. there is such theological breadth and emotional depth to her writing. It's especially refreshing to see that she grew up in church and followed Jesus early in her life. i am a 76 yo Catholic Christian. I sang in our church choir for about 30 years ( not that well i might add). As a lover of Christian contemporary music, I only wish we would do more of this style. I discovered her music about 2 months ago, first "I speak Jesus", then "Thank you Jesus for the blood", only last week i found this song, so lyrically inspirational and musically perfect. Although not proud of some things i have done, sins i have committed, I thank the Lord for what he has done for us to give me a second chance, I cant stop listening to this song. While with me he said the prayer of salvation at 73. In 2018 my twin brother died. While standing next to his bed in the ER he looked asleep and all I could think of was “I’ll never be able to see those beautiful blue eyes again.” Before leaving, I leaned over to hug him one last time, they had the bed so high I couldn’t see but one side of his face. As I leaned far over, his right eye was open and there was that blue! It was like he was winking at me. No matter how it happened, I KNOW God knew my innermost desire and let me see his blue eyes...one last time. Yes it’s true - “In both grief and glory, GREAT is his FAITHFULNESS.” All my love to my faithful Jesus. My brother & I were both saved age ten at church camp around the same campfire, so I know I’ll see him again. ♥️✝️🔥

Thank you for your faithfulness to the ministry God has given you through your gift and talent. God lead me here this morning. My heart is heavy, broken and empty today. As a pastor, today not only do I have to lead His people in worship through song and word, I will be laying one of our teens to rest. The darkness, that we pastors do not share on the days we lead, can be so heavy overwhelming and lonely. My prayer this morning was that He lead me and I asked for His Spirit to attend me. Not only did this song speak to me today, so the scripture above as a reminder of my call. Great is His faithfulness! "So I will sing praise to Your name forever, that I may daily perform my vows".
My testimony surrounding my first hearing this song is a Mighty work of the Lord. I suppose the power of the Lord’s work that day can never be fully revealed by mere words in text. I will attempt a worthy declaration of God’s faithfulness to remind us of His love at just the right time. Here goes: It was resurrection Sunday of 2024. I had just got home from the corporate fellowship with the body and had a chance to look at my phone. In a rare occurrence, two people had sent me songs in a tex message. Simply moving down the line of messages, I listened to the first song from my departing wife. It gave me a feeling of guilt, shame, and sorrow. It’s message was picking me apart and accusing me of my past failures. I was tormented in my spirit, being led into a temptation of emotional sins toward her. (But God!) I collected myself and continued to address my inbox. Lo and behold, my momma….. 😢 …My momma, who I KNOW loves me had shared this song with me. (Again, it is an oddity in and of itself that one person shares a song with me, nonetheless TWO people on the same morning!) My mom was listening to a Charity Gale song on youtube when this particular song came on. She had never heard it before and, as she listened, became minded to share it with me. As the first line of this song hit my ears, they pierced my soul! “If you have felt the dark of night, questioning what is out of sight…” The spirit dropped me to my knees and i didn’t cry, I WAILED! I SOBBED! I wept bitterly! I was immediately washed and reminded with the hope that we have in an Advocate! Jesus Christ! Where once we had an accuser, we not have an Advocate! I realized the stark contrast between what an Advocate and an accuser feels like. One points a finger and constantly reminds you of your past, another says “lift your head, child! Morning is coming!” AMEN!!!!!!! 😭😭😭 I cannot listen to this song in light hearing, in passing. I always listen in a spiritual state of mind with tears rolling down my face, thankful for the hope that we have because of our King, Jesus Christ! What’s that verse say? ”For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.“ Romans 8:18 NKJV There is coming a day, y’all, when no heartache shall come! When He will wipe away our every tear, sorrow, and pain! Do not let the accuser of this world drown out the hope of your salvation and the power of your Savior! He is mighty and powerful, a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him! A strong tower in times of trouble! He will never allow the righteous to be ashamed!

Thank you for your faithfulness to the ministry God has given you through your gift and talent. God lead me here this morning. My heart is heavy, broken and empty today. As a pastor, today not only do I have to lead His people in worship through song and word, I will be laying one of our teens to rest. The darkness, that we pastors do not share on the days we lead, can be so heavy overwhelming and lonely. My prayer this morning was that He lead me and I asked for His Spirit to attend me. My testimony surrounding my first hearing this song is a Mighty work of the Lord. I suppose the power of the Lord’s work that day can never be fully revealed by mere words in text. I will attempt a worthy declaration of God’s faithfulness to remind us of His love at just the right time. Here goes:
It was resurrection Sunday of 2024. I had just got home from the corporate fellowship with the body and had a chance to look at my phone. In a rare occurrence, two people had sent me songs in a tex message. Simply moving down the line of messages, I listened to the first song from my departing wife. It gave me a feeling of guilt, shame, and sorrow. It’s message was picking me apart and accusing me of my past failures. I was tormented in my spirit, being led into a temptation of emotional sins toward her.
(But God!)
I collected myself and continued to address my inbox. Lo and behold, my momma….. 😢 …My momma, who I KNOW loves me had shared this song with me. (Again, it is an oddity in and of itself that one person shares a song with me, nonetheless TWO people on the same morning!) My mom was listening to a Charity Gale song on youtube when this particular song came on. She had never heard it before and, as she listened, became minded to share it with me.
As the first line of this song hit my ears, they pierced my soul!

The spirit dropped me to my knees and i didn’t cry, I WAILED! I SOBBED! I wept bitterly!
I was immediately washed and reminded with the hope that we have in an Advocate! Jesus Christ!
Where once we had an accuser, we not have an Advocate!
I realized the stark contrast between what an Advocate and an accuser feels like. One points a finger and constantly reminds you of your past, another says “lift your head, child! Morning is coming!”

I cannot listen to this song in light hearing, in passing. I always listen in a spiritual state of mind with tears rolling down my face, thankful for the hope that we have because of our King, Jesus Christ!
