Old building washed away after water tops BC landslide

An old, uninhabited structure along the banks of the Chilcotin River was washed away Monday, along with large sections of the riverbank, after water breached the landslide upstream. The water flowed over the natural dam on Monday and has prompted communities as far away as New Westminster, B.C. to begin preparing for a “big pulse” of debris and sediment-laden water as it flows into the Fraser River.
