- Welcome to the first X-Plane 11 video I've done since my "vacation". In this video I am using the FREE Zibo 737-800 mod, flying Ryanair from Birmingham (EGBB) to Dublin (EIDW). In this part I talk about the way I have my X-Plane set up, including Ortho and all of my scenery & utilities. I almost depart off the wrong runway but whatever, the scenery on departure is absolutely stunning!

Regarding your Excel pushback question, prior to pushback, a pin is inserted into the nose gear which disconnects hydraulic power to the nose wheel steering. This is obviously removed once the push is complete, but the pins themselves are very brittle and they have been known to snap/shatter which means the push has to be stopped immediately to avoid any damage to the nose wheel. It happens a lot but the pins are designed to break during any excessive force! The proper name is a ‘Bypass Pin’. :)

Thanks Matt, I've been looking forward to seeing you cover this! I use both P3D V3 & X-Plane 11; I find that they both have their own inherent advantages and disadvantages. Learned about ProjectFly also from your stream - i really like the concept. I took 2 contracts for other people last night and it felt kinda more immersive as i was 'responsible' for getting their aircraft to the destination safe and sound. Brilliant idea!

How ear arnna is getting paying him for the flights they use to go uk.. British airlines is paying him for gates that head in malga and redused the size of the gates.. Easy jet paying him to take extra flights plus all sponser's fuck mate great money

First flight in my life was in a TUIFly 737-800 from Frankfurt to Antalya. Love this plane and love the ZIBO Mod.

At 27.00 Matt switches on the windscreen heats, but says "we're not going to need them".... Another great model from Zibo, They do freeze up and go opaque without the switches on! If you arrive Cold & Dark in cold conditions, you may think, graphics problem? but no, frozen windscreen 😄

Great video. Made the switch to XP11 about a year ago and I have not regreted it (after crying myself to sleep while adding up the money lost from P3D). This sim has superior flight dynamics and looks amazing. And a great community!

On the zibo mod you can press the mic button at the left of mcp to activate TOGA

which scared the shit out of me when I was on vatsim once and accidentally hit that button

TOGA takeoff means Full Thrust Takeoff?
Gsn Mithra TOGA stands for takeoff/go around. So when that button is pressed it sets the engine power to the set take off power, which usually isn’t full throttle.

I have a hint: during engine start on the NG you're looking for 25% N2 and positive N1 rotation to add fuel, not 2.5% N1, should save you some time in future! ;) All the best

Amazing scenery....
push back scenario, from an experienced ramp person, if its the old two bar ( not what we call tow bar less units like the TLD ) then when the over turn limit is passed ( hence the small red lie on the nose gear doors ) then the shear blots give way they are designed to do this to protect the nose gear hydraulics etc, when they go either nose gear end or push back end it sounds like a shot gun going off and i have seen it twice...!, very very scary, its the the duty of the headset an to inform the flight deck so they can apply soft braking as the nose bar pin can be over ridden....!
if its a tow bar less unit, again the shear weight of the aircraft verse inertia will cause the rocking to and fro....either way this particular function by push back crews is a very very hazardous role...!,,sorry for the long answer, hope it helps........nice to see you back on line mate and looking so well.....nice one mate..best wishes from an ex brit in kmco.....!

Hey matt great video nice to see you back on youtube. My feedback is to look at the camera more when you're doing the intros, I know your looking at your monitors and you're not used to it, but it just seems a bit awkward when you dont look at the camera when you are talking to us. During the flying portion i can understand why you wouldnt however.

I've flown to Glasgow from Brum in a dash and it looks pretty much identical!
Awesome video, Matt. Not sure if this has been answered yet, but I believe MORA stands for Minimum Off Route Altitude - The minimum altitude your aircraft can fly safely within a planned route. The Dublin VOR (DUB) is below the 4,300ft minimum altitude, hence a warning that should not be there in the first place. Presumably, because you will be descending into the airport anyway.

Hi Matt! The MORA you were asking about stands for Minimum Off-Route Altitude. This gives pilots on IFR flights 1,000 feet of obstacle clearance over non-mountainous areas and 2,000 feet of clearance over mountainous areas. These altitudes should be kept in mind when you are not flying on an airway. Hope that helps! 👋🏼
Hi Matt, If it's not been covered already. Engine start levers go to Idle at 25% N2, think you were waiting for 2.5 N1.... Also on the igniters. We use the R igniter on the first sector of the day and then alternate on each sector ( if there is a fault with the R Igniter, the aircraft is grounded, better to find this out while you're at home base) Nice video tho.. p.s Tango out of BHX33 ain't a good idea lol..
