So many companies & wells covered in such a short time! Well done Matthew. After six years with us, Matthew is leaving to broaden his experience. This was Matthew's Swansong - and how well he has learned his trade over the years. A great video summarising high impact wells drilling in 2024. Best wishes with your future career mate. You'll do well, I have no doubt.
I am keeping a close eye on Persephone. After a couple of hits in recent years with Ephesus & Aspy, a discovery would be fantastic news for the region. There certainly looks to be a lot of prospectivity here - just need to discover it!
As always, we caution from bullish statements like 10+ billion barrels on the basis of two 8&1/2" (eight and a half inch) well penetrations. Certainly its looking to be a giant or even supergiant but lets have some appraisal wells to confirm seismic continuity etc. Stranger things have happened..... BTW I thought the 10+ billion barrels was originally resource size (STOIIP), though it seems to be increasingly quoted as reserves. And if you aren't sure of the difference, you are not watching enough of our videos!!
Nothing except for press releases at this time. It looks to be a test which was successful but is a small scale operation - might not have made our radar if you hadn't asked. We will probably give it a mention on our next video on Southern Africa which will probably be out in the next few weeks.
@@TROVE-1stSubsurface I found a short update on the Geo Expro website, article of 25 march 2024. The Jaca-1 found a working petroleum system of clean thin sands but they are filled with water. The sands have high porosity but low permeability and are waterwet.

A great Swansong!
This list isn't exhaustive, so what do you think we should've included?
TotalEnergies planned well on Damara/south Damara by end 2024. PD estimates of multi billion barrels recoverable.

Ephesus & Aspy were dry holes, rather than 'hits'. We agree, a discovery would be great news for this region.
Pancontinental / Woodside and PEL87 for me. With Galp, Mopane and 10+ billion barrels as a neighbour, can't wait to see what PEL87 turns up.

Sintana Energy is how I am playing it. Eco Atlantic oil and gas is another one to watch.
Do you have any information about the onshore gas discovery in South Africa by Kinetiko?

Do you have an update on São Tomé and the well jaca-1? Will they drill more wells?
I haven't heard much since the well finished drilling. If anyone knows of from follow-up plans, please drop us a line and we will pass it on.
Thanks I will check other sources if I find I will post here
