    great video! some additional thoughts:
I'd argue that a variation of the Melody B appears in the opening number: "merely from a glance". Although it's flipped upside down, it follows the familiar pattern of step up -> step down -> skip down
Also, I'd identify an appearance of Melody B in "Loving You": "This is who I am". It doesn't quite have the full structure of the "I Read Melody," but it's clearly based on the same musical DNA.
The melody to "No One Has Ever Loved Me" can also be viewed as a variation of Fosca's piano melody. This is how Sondheim described it in interviews, and in the commentary to the Broadway recording.
You mention that Clara never sings Melody B. If you're counting variations of Melody B, this just isn't true. The most prominent example -- "The sunrise then could be" in "Sunrise Letter." Again, it's a bit modified from the "I Read" melody, but it's very clearly designed as a variation on that melody.

Sadly the video and audio is very choppy. Can it be reposted at a higher frame rate

Thank you for the feedback. I did some research and there's a button I can press on Zoom that will improve the quality of the recordings if I want to post them on TH-cam. I'll do that in the future, and I appreciate your letting me know about the problem.
