I agree with Brian about the wrestler exchange. In Jade, WWE got a new talent with real start power, and in Adam, AEW got a brand name that can draw eyes to the product. Both companies got what they needed. Also, to me the most important hire for AEW was Jericho. Him taking a chance on the brand new company and pretty much carrying it through the first phase is what made all other big hires possible.

They wanna book squash matches (AGAINST LOCAL JOBBERS BTW) for her all day be my guest, but you don't put a belt on someone that green just because you think they'll grow into it. Clearly it failed. She dropped the belt almost as soon as Statlander returned and now the belt has some actual credibility to it instead of just being a prop to make someone look better than they are. She should be on NXT, but WWE will more than likely send her to Smackdown, put her in a feud until a mid PPV where she loses and is sent to catering for months before being put into a random tag team with someone.

I also attended this show & I agree with your assessment of it. When it comes to the security at CPA, it isn't the best at dealing with people like the one you described in your section as I had to deal with one similar to that when Raw went there this past April. Another knock that I have about my experience is that the majority of concession stands outside of the club section closed an hour & half into the show which resulted in people having to go to only one stand for everything & there were long lines.

Yes, on paper it’s weird or backwards that your world champ is curtain jerking in a comedy style match for tag titles BUT… (a) MJF and Cole are in the midst of a great story where, in a rare occasion, due to how this has all come together, the world title can kind of take a backseat here and there because MJF being the champ is part of the ongoing story, which is handy because (b) Cole got injured and the planned story of ColeMJF vs Kingdom/Roddy has to be delayed (which presumably includes the breakup of ColeMJF), which means (C), the silver lining, whilst Cole is out injured, we can pivot and have MJF do some fun side stuff with the tag belts and a world title defense vs Jay White which I don’t think was scheduled to happen yet.

I guess the main question with Copeland is whether he's just here for a nostalgia run against/with Christian (and likely the Hardys) and off into the sunset, or is he going to meaningfully engage with the rest of the AEW product. Which is really how you'd compare him as an acquisition compared to Jericho or Danielson and such.
Obviously, the former is a big news/talking point and will get eyeballs on the product. But long term if he just shows up to play with his old buddies, its just the better-wrestled version of "The Band" in TNA and so on.

Josey Scott (lead singer of Saliva at the time) was seated directly in front of us in the front row. The drunk guy was heckling Josey the entire show while his girlfriend was staring in horror at the floor. Josey eventually bought him a beer. He stopped for a few minutes, then started back up again until he eventually passed out. It was hilarious, but I felt bad for his girlfriend.

Went to my first AEW show in August (Dynamite's 200th episode) and during the Rampage filming, a guy projectile vomited there, too...right next to me on the stairs. Crazy sight, wish I could unsee it, but thankfully the show was still good. 😂

Danielson vs ZSJ is one of top 5 matches of the year. Loved the Golden lovers vs Calis Family match and Ibushi is slowly getting back to his old self.
Main Event was brutal and Christian for my money is the best heel in wrestling right now

WrestleDream really felt like one of the shows of the year (from watching it at home), it's up there with WrestleMania 39, Revolution and All In for me. Just very consistent throughout, Swerve/Hangman, Danielson/MJF and Cage/Darby were fantastic. The whole ending to the show felt like wrestling cinema, the best ppv ending since All Out 2021 imo. Looking forward to seeing what Edge does in AEW!

Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan), Saraya (Paige), and now Adam Copeland (Edge). What is it about wrestlers who announce their retirement on WWE RAW, come out of retirement after an amount of time, and later sign with AEW? With that said, I am looking forward to seeing what the former Edge does now that he's All Elite.

I don't want tlc absolutely not but I'd definitely like the idea of the hardyz e&c in a heel stable together like being the old veterans who paved the way for all these younger guys and they feel disrespected and unwilling to give up the spotlight and you could even use it to catapult private party when they return like they're the only young guys giving them the proper respect as tag team icons they feel they deserve.
Unfortunately it's fantasy booking and it could've worked if they had a few more years left. Man I love Jeff Hardy he's been my favorite since I was 5 years old I as a 26 yo adult still have his poster in my room but it's kinda sad seeing him wrestle now. Darby allin reminds me so much of him without the demons as wrestlers call them. I love it cause it's a spectacle and great seriously Darby allin owns the suicide dive everyone else needs to stop your not gonna do a better dive then Darby. But please don't die is a frequent chant in his matches and legitimately please don't die Darby your awesome. A good reason AEW trusts him with all these legends.

Zero Hour (I always watch them as well) was pretty good, my least favorite was the squash match between Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne.
    02:27 4 out of 5.
    04:51 4 out of 5.
    06:40 4 out of 5.
08:12 3.5 out of 5 - My thought on this is that we've already seen FTR vs. Young Bucks and The Assboys, uh sorry, The Gunns, I would have loved for Lucha Bros. to win because the last time we saw these tag teams against each other was when FTR won the Lucha Libre AAA Tag Team Championship belt from Lucha Bros. on Dynamite, I would have loved to see those teams again. And with Orange Cassidy and Hook, at least it would have been new and different. But I guess we'll still gonna get a really good match on FTR vs. Young Bucks IV.
    10:36 3.5 out of 5.
    13:19 3 out of 5.
14:58 3.5 out of 5. - Some might not have liked it, but I really liked Jon Moxley on commentary, I had no problem with that!
    17:37 4 out of 5.
    19:38 3.5 out of 5.
20:58 3.5 out of 5. - I was not suprised to see Adam Copeland showing up, it was pretty obvious, but awesome! I was pretty suprise to see that they're gonna go with Copeland vs. Christian Cage, I'm pretty sure many of us expected to see them reunited (which will most likely happen in a couple of months, wouldn't be suprised If Copeland went heel also)
My grade: A. I actually liked this one better than the All In ppv, and that one was good too.
