The shows is at its best with Brandt and Shrager on set feeding off each other. Mcourty and Erdal were great at understanding that and playing supporting roles. That dynamic being lost could really damage the show.
Former broadcaster here and these decisions made behind the scenes sometimes just ruin shows, and continuity. Often the metrics don't really show that the "grass is greener" it's new management or sponsors etc making the decisions.

Ugh. Now a whole show full of those annoying zoom delays where people are constantly starting and stopping talking as with the transmission delay they can't figure out whose turn it is to talk. Hated it during COVID, still do. This could kill the one show I watch every morning while getting ready to work. I don't care about any other sports, so I don't waste time with the ESPN morning shows. Now the NFL Network may have just ruined the best thing they had. I'll give it a chance, but it's less than promising.
Meanwhile, Kay's show has been doing great. It's free on YT, she has regular guests, some of which won't do much media outside of her show (Deebo was on weekly last season, for example). McAfee is simulcast on ESPN, taking a lot of that around the table football talk away from GMFB, and GMFB is moving to having the two people you tune in to hear on remote via zoom? I guess they saw the ratings dip, decided to cut the budget and just use the studio they have in LA, get some money from Roku as well, which will probably still repeat a lot of the content from the NFL Network hours, so why get NFL Network? It's very odd decision making by the execs but as long as they don't touch the Sunday morning show, it's fine.
They want to stay on the east coast so they don't have to uproot their families and move them out west. Them being the OGs of the show, I think they deserve to make that decision. However them not being on set and feeding off each other will definitely hurt the dynamic of the show. I'll still watch though.
Finding out that GMFB will no longer be in studio together really saddens me. One can only hope that they do not loose what was special about the show through these changes. Become successful, then immediately change the formula that drove that success is a common occurrence but rarely effective.
If Peter & Kyle are together in studio, whether NY or LA, it'll work. Hell, they could even be at each other's house, sittin' across the room from each other. Jamie can referee from anywhere, and congrats on yer new daughter!

I will watch in the beginning, but I sure don't like the way it is described. You will lose all of the fun antics that you had when they were all together. If I don't like the new format, there are now lots of other football shows on now that I could replace it with.
When you are getting money from the "NFL" being NFL Network, it doesn't make sense to pinch pennies when you have multiple billions. And, who pays literally at the end, us poor NFL fans. I hate that I'm dependent on the NFL.
They need to dump Akbar quick before the damage is unrepairable. They had at least 10 sit-in hosts through the years that were really good and this is what they give us. I don't know what show he was ever on that somebody would have said this guy is a keeper. I've seen a thousand hosts on football shows that are more likeable. I watched this show pretty much every day since it first aired. I wasn't a big fan of Burleson and thought McCourty was a huge upgrade for my tastes and took the show to another level. So glad to see toe-drag swag go away. Kay was special and missed but Jamie does great, how can you not love her. They should have at least kept that cozy studio vibe it had. Just turned it into another cookie cutter show with a scattershot LA vibe. I have watched the Show for years. I am VERY disappointed with the new format. I do not mind changes but not bad changes which is what this has become. TheShow is not the same without Peter and Kyle and Jason n set. Now this split screen or Kyle and Peter in NY and Jamie in California does not work as well. Without the spontaneity of having everyone on the same set is not nearly the same. It is so bad that I cannot watch it anymore. I thought Kyle and Peter would be in California too and without them ( AND JASON) it’s not close to the 2023-24 product. Moving and changing the show has been a huge mistake.
NOTa fan of Akbar. Didn’t care for him on NFL Fantasy Live, where he tackled (assaulted) Matt Money Smith and never apologized. His takes were trash as well. I’ll watch but not sure how much.
Absolutely ruined a fantastic show , if they continue with Kyle and Peter in NY I will give it a miss , the dynamic of the four together was part of the shows winning formula, typical big time executives not knowing what they are doing 😢
