Talking of celebrating Samanyanga,remember that the Oliver Mtukudzi International Festival of the Arts will be held at the Pakare Arts Centre on September 21st and 22nd. The legend will also be honored with a dinner on September 21st at the center.
Then, on September 28th, the Joy of Jazz Festival in South Africa will feature an Oliver Mtukudzi tribute. The tribute band will feature South African legends Yeuvone Chakachaka and Madhuva, as well as Mbeu and Mtukudzi's kids. I will be both the lead guitarist of the band and the music director. I will provide the rest of the information later.
However, prior to that, I will be hosting a book launch concert to celebrate the release of the new edition of my autobiography "Following The Melody" on September 13th, next month. And Oliver Mtukudzi has a whole chapter in the book; because he is one person who completely changed my life. If I had not worked with him, Monolio Studio would not exist. R.I.P. Mu Deacon Wangu.
