Is playback a normal thing in japan or are all these bands just insanely good? I have watched alot of japanese live band videos on youtube and they all seem to be insanely good live to the point that i suspect playback.
Well, i just think that most japanese artists are really good and don't need playback. In asian countries they really value quality a lot and the people try to get good education and i guess the same counts for music. You have to consider that for example stars like Katy Perry are famous for their behavior and looks and not their real talent, well...in most case... Don't know which other bands you mean, but for example the gazette are really good in their live performances as well and you can clearly hear that it's not playback, like doing things spontanously and the breathing matches with the movements, Sorry for my bad english^^
+Richard Yang Something he became used to doing I guess. I've never tried playing quite like that, but ti seems like one of the things you can do with practice.

The only "playback" is the synth and the rhythm guitar in the intro, which are controlled by the DJ off to the side.
I just don't understand..... 3:59 the way the guitarist head bangs and still have control on right hand to palm mute accurately.... they are too good
