Love the drone footage. It allows you to see the topography of the battlefield so well. It gives a better understanding of what Custer and the 7th Cav were facing.
Hi, my name is Jason Robinson tattoo artist out of Lebanon Ohio. We was there the 23rd 24th and 25th. Great time we visit lotta other stuff there but I tattooed on my leg the letter that general Custer had talk to him Ben 10 to come quick, bring packs big village, a tattoo that on the inside of my leg at the spot where he dictated the letter that was sent to Benteens great experience great time did the Crow tour of the Battlefield and did mounters as well. Had a great time this video rocks.
Excellent video but I wish it could have been longer, maybe the route Custer rode in to the site and approx where Lone Teepee was. I was there in May on my fourth visit, unfortunately it rained cats and dogs and couldn’t do deep ravine
Great footage! What a beautiful landscape. The lay of the land with the river and coulees really makes understanding the battle complex and mysterious. Thanks for sharing the Victory Dance also.
So nice of you to do this. I am revisiting places in Oregon this summer with my drone. I feel like I know them a whole new way like this. Thanks so much.
Excellent footage! Only wish a few more features had been pointed out during the shots like deep ravine, Reno's skirmish line set up, their retreat, the Reno-Benteen defense, etc...but beautiful video
I will return next anniversary to capture the reenactments and also to get the Warrior "charge" near Last Stand Hill. The other videos in the Playlist have some decent aerial shots.
I absolutely love your content. Are you making any plans for further videos of the Indian wars? Something on the Wagon Box fight or the Fetterman massacre would be epic. Keep up the great work!
Thank You! I have been to both, just passing through. I will be back out West in May and June, so more content is coming about this period, including possibly the Nez Perce conflict. I was so hooked on The Battle of the Bulge that I lost my way on this content.
Thank you for this. I have a hard time visualizing the terrain from the descriptions in books. I also like the native dance music . I would think the encampment after the battle would have been adrenaline filled and somber both. A horrific day even for the victorious ?
Its unbelievable thats medicine tail coulee???? I had it blown out of proportion in my mind. Also can you clarify when the video was taken. It says the audio was on the anniversary but for reference as to greenery how it would have looked was the video shot some other time? thanks
@@giuseppe4909 Sure, in the context of something they could never have, it's a waste of time....but it is not a waste of time to ponder or speculate the course of the battle, had Custer kept the regiment together, or any other interesting possibilities. Pondering changes to the scenario and potential results (of course without the absurd, "Gee, what if he had an F22 Raptor") is rather interesting. Of course there was modern recon technology (1 man hot air balloons etc) that could have been brought along and might have helped....they were used in the Civil War to great effect. Different weapons for the cavalry (Spencer repeater rifles, winchester repeaters, etc) It is interesting to ponder and not a waste of time if you do so realistically within context.
At 3:22, did those fools seriously drive their vehicles on supposedly sacred ground??? No surprise I 'spose, anyone who has been to Wounded Knee can that nothing is actually "sacred" to these people. How far they've fallen. :(
Haha... but in reality I don't think much could have been done. The odds were too much in favor of the Natives over the cavalry (at least 10 to 1 over Custer's detachment). If they would have brought artillery or Gatlin guns it would have made no difference, Custer was too far off for either to help. The only thing that would have changed the battle would have been for Custer to immediately have attacked the Native group fighting Reno (performing the "hammer and anvil" attack and not have gone too deep and got cut off), and Benteen being there set up and able to use the superior range of the Springfield carbines (dismounted of course). Otherwise... it is what it was.

@PeterRezendes Agreed. Hindsight is 20/20, and the tactic worked previously so it is understandable why he thought to do it again (flank to rear to capture non-combatants to get warriors to stop fighting).
I started watching this on my phone then I suddenly stopped the video and waited until I could finish it on my big screen tv. Awesome and thank you!
I was in this country about the same time you were. I was gobsmacked by how unusually green it was.
Love the drone footage. It allows you to see the topography of the battlefield so well. It gives a better understanding of what Custer and the 7th Cav were facing.
It also enables one to see how badly Custer blundered.
Thank you for sharing much appreciated
I cherish your drone shots through all of your videos and series you have done. So much value seeing the terrain this way. Thank you!
لو تموت 🎉ظ😂❤
Thank you sir.

Great timing! I am headed there on August 11th and this helped give me some bearings. Appreciate all you do.
This was outstanding. Presenting locations on the battlefield that's difficult to access. Hopefully more like this are planned.

BEST!! Thank you for sharing--a LBH enthusiast
Wow, excellent as always.
It's amazing seeing these areas in such vivid color, which is pretty much how it would have appeared to the 7fh and the Indians on that day.
Thanks a lot for uploading. Regards from Denmark :)

I can relate to every part by watching this...
It's so cool, I have never been here
Very neat! Thank you for sharing!
The sad irony is they saw this battle as a "victory" when in reality, it sealed their fates to be forced into Reservations.
Cope
Quality! Never gets old .
From the u.k 😊🤠👍
Old wagon trail at 1:55?
All respect and Honor.

Man are you soft these were real men both sides , brave hearts to the front cowards to the rear , GARRYOWEN

What if Custer had had a drone? What if Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull had had a drone?
What if Custer had a tank? Or Ak 47s? Makes about as much sense 😊
Crazy Horse would have been unstoppable if he had drones
“What if” ….such a waste of time.

Good video. The footage is very cool.
Great video, Cory. Nice meeting you in Hardin.
This would be cool if you knew where you were looking, what direction, just some sort of better description.

Two Moon monument near Busby is NOT a grave site.
It’s stated this is where Two Moons remains are at.
How did that "victory" work out for the Indians????
Damn good actually Custer came to kill them he died instead ' they were camped peacefully '
Black Hawk attack copter would have swung the battle in cavalry's favour.

Land is so vast out there. Why not give them the Midwest and just tax them like a colony.
A movie should be made here to get a better view
Son of the morning star was filmed in the area
Stolen land
It looked more barren with less greenery in the 1941 movie. This must be fake photography!
