As someone who escaped CT after living there for 30 plus years, I can confirm Joe and Tony's take. It's a strange place. The wealthy suburbs of the cities really want nothing to do with the cities they are associated with. The western part of the state is super wealthy because New York financiers have their out of city residences. There are some few decent beaches that you can use like three months of the year. The northeast part of the state is ramshackle rural poor other than UCONN. It's a very strange Mish mash that is only tied together by geography and a very light tough of old New England charm. It's not a place you move to generally.

It was a low-tax suburb between NYC and Boston. ...then they raised their taxes above the level of both "prettier/cooler" neighbors, and everyone who could, left. Businesses left, rich people left. Now, everyone's broke, and everyone who moved to Boston/NYC is doing better.

It can’t be worse than Delaware. The entire state smells like a pet shop.
The CT casinos are great, but I only go there on acid. Acid destroys my gambling reflex. The despair is palpable in there. It could lead to a bad trip but I concentrate on the architectural monstrosities. Giant expensive bad art and architecture.
NY is pretty bad too, New Yorkers are bunch smelly thots and goofy ass white knights with anger issues also racist Dominicans. Expensive as fuck well.
Gave Ed Dillmore That’s interesting, the architecture and art that’s in our casino would be cool to see while tripping but I can’t stand being around the people who frequent places like Mohegan Sun even while I’m sober. Walking around getting a second-hand nic buzz from an elderly persons menthol cigarette, not for me.

Well, yeah, you left Bridgeport. Every State has a Bridgeport. I think you would feel differently if you were born and raised in Greenwich or Fairfield.
When Dave Cross came to Fox Woods (a different casino in CT) they presented his name on the sign as "Comedian Dave Cross" as if people didn't know what they were getting into and sure enough at least a forth of the audience, mostly older people, walked out by the third or forth joke.
CT may be a bazaar place of despair but at least we have good seafood. that's about it.

Best thing that happened to me out of CT was meeting a girl from CT in Milwaukee visiting her relatives and i ended up getting laid... idk anything else from that state.
Milwaukee Brewers - CT girls are pretty much all sluts ... some just angrier than others. There’s a predominately female University in my town and it’s a popular place for CT parents to ship their little princesses. We’ve gotten a new crop every year for decades and they’re so quick and easy to get dirty and sleazy.

When they type out paragraphs on their curbside survey complaining about how they put in their credit card to pay instead of their foodstamp card, the survey gets emailed to like 30 of us and we all gather up and read it together laughing our asses off

The people in South Norwalk / CT in general carry an air of smug, I'm better than you, contempt, jealousy / envy, and overall general unhappiness like no other people I've ever met.. So depressing. I've lived all over the country and now live in the Mid West.. Out of elevators I get "have a nice day" from strangers!.. Everyone is happy.. all the time. It is very strange. I've been here one year and really haven't seen anyone unhappy or rude.. It is shocking.. You really have to step up your politeness factor here.. It's like they expect you to be kind and friendly to them. I'm not used to it. I'm just getting adjusted.
