This just happened to me. The unit is mounted pretty high up on the house so I just killed power completely. Waited 120 seconds and made sure all the breakers were set before hitting the main so everything came on in sync. AC back. Hopefully was just a glitch from a bad breaker we had last week.

Check indoor unit got link to smoke detector or fire alarm. May the alarm cause error U4. By my experience,the kitchen smoke detector intermittent short circuit cause aircon erreo U4.

I have 6 cassette and all with thermostat, with 1-10 it recognizes the 6 cassettes, and when I perform the test 2-05 it also works for me, but the starter does not perform it. how can I solve that. @@BonMj is auto charging always done first? And I have not replaced the main pcb yet, but it does not perform the test run. Where is the DS1 and DS2 setting??
Same here on 20+ years old Daikin inverter. Power cycle of the whole equipment "fixed" the error. Weird... but thanks for the idea :)

Check the remote controller main/sub setting
If wallmounted,please check the main/sub switch at receiver pcb

What is the error code, you try off and on back power supply,afterthat need to test run.

If auto charging system, you need to auto charging after that test run

Off outdoor power supply and on back , press reset button.
If the indoor pcb faulty, suggest u take out the communication wire and reset.
今天check 到一台4mks 80 三台内机blinking 出U4 . 发现CU control board 没有灯显示。reset了也不行！不确定是filter board 还是control board 坏！直接让他换了台外机！
