@@a-aron2276 Who in the world would click on that video. It just sounds daunting and very hard and boring thing. Even veretasium and other knowledge channels click bait. So please leave the guy alone
No one can believe you made this by hand? I can’t believe you still have all your fingers with your tablesaw technique. Lol Great video, proper cool end result.
Cool video editing, love the stop motion stuff. As someone who build a lot of sound systems: Your speakers are cancelling each other out and the low frequency speakers distort the mids and highs. They all compress the air inside the cube which in converse conclusion prevents every speaker to use its full hoisting capacity (?). I didn't see a single air vent in the whole construction, but I can be wrong. The best way is to devide the cube inside so every low+mid/high speaker combo has it's own airway.
Yeah, I was wondering how it sounds, I hope he can get back to you so you design one together, or at least collect some more knowledge about speaker systems.
Can the speakers be recessed into a cover on the inside? You know, like those car speaker boxes. Back in the 70s and early 80s the first upgrade that most kids installed was a killer stereo, especially on your first car. Jensen Triaxal speakers were the most popular, and alot of them were put into a plastic, sometimes wood, speaker box and thrown in the back window. I'm not sure how these type of speakers react if enclosed or boxed in. Nice work, though! Killer looking speaker ball, cube or whatever it's actually called...lol
The technical name for the geometric shape is a Truncated Icosahedron. It has 20 hexagons and 12 pentagons and was identified as the shape of the carbon 60 molecule back in the 1980's that was given the name buckyball. Very cool video!
@Emil Michel I spent 3 months doing calculations for the x, y, z coordinates out to 11 decimal places trying to determine the angle's for the 3 connecting points. I planned on making 3D models of the molecule for High school Chemistry teachers. My wife threatened to divorce me because it was taking all of my spare time. So I quit the calculations but I did keep my notes! LOL
So I just "built" one of these in SolidWorks. Turns out the angles between the pentagons and hexagons are different compared to hexagon to hexagon. It would be quite easy to set up a compound miter saw (or radial arm saw) to do this. The glue angles are 18.69° and 20.91° for the different attachment. I notice in the video there are gaps, caused of course by this disparity. I think this is a heroic effort at making a "soccer" ball, i.e. a dodecahedron. 12 pentagons, 20 hexagons. I may do one of these. I LOVE that Madman showed us the way. Every effort starts with small steps. Thanks.
You seem to have found out the secret of wood glue lol. It makes those little incidental spaces and gaps meaningless, acting as not only a strong bonding agent but a filler as well. This guy reminds me of every person I worked with in a cabinet shop for 25 years lol.
I bet he used like 20 degrees on all of them but I was wondering how on earth he calculated it! Thanks for explaining the geometry bit - I am not a math geek but I find geometry fascinating.
Impressive work! Very cool process time lapse and stop motion editing. I love it all, except one thing: Somebody get this person a bandsaw please. That free-form cutting on the table saw makes me cringe and want to count my fingers.
It's a video made by a madman alright. The editing alone is insane. I subscribed because the videos are so entertaining to watch. You set the bar for other would-be youtubers.
That’s cool for these days… back in my day( early 80’s) we made speakers with pulsating lights to jazz up our party rooms. With $7 worth of parts! Great video!
I love your work and wish I had the resources to do the kinds of projects you do. I am a blacksmith/bladesmith myself. I love working with steel. I also do robotics and gadget making. My channel used to be focused on something else but I am slowly turning it into just for my metal work and robotics/gadgets. If I had one negative thing to say its that you dont need to do clickbait titles. Saying things like "NO ONE CAN BELIEVE I MADE ..." or anything like that just makes the title look desperate. I know a lot of channels do it and thats exactly the problem. It holds no merit with most viewers now and may even be part of why you arent getting the millions of views you should be getting.
Great work mate, looks like your working with MDF, it's very toxic stuff! You should be wearing a mask rated to work with is material. Just a suggestion, the longer you live the more cool stuff you can make😉
Way back in primary school I made a dodecahedron in shop class.(12 sided object made by 5sided plates) and that was painful enough... Making a complete ball like this? Impressive, most impressive.
What point is there making a mask if he doesn't wear one? Why do you care anyway? What next, putting his fingers too close to the saw blade? Potential accident risk when he jumped over the work bench?

Salut ... mon commentarire peut passer certaine limites .... mais bon... fais ce qui te plais .... Please stop the click bait style titles. You're an excellent craftsman, the work will speak for itself.
1000 times this, the titles don't help figure out what the video is about
Thankyou,!!! Glad someone said it Nothing worse than non descriptive titles and super amazed/surprised thumbnails
Homemade truncated icosahedron Bluetooth speaker would've been more discriptive. Or diy soccer ball Bluetooth spreaker.
tbh, I think the picture helps :-)
