A much cheaper and VERY EFFECTIVE product that has been around forever is BAR KEEPERS FRIEND - it works great and is only a few dollars at any grocery store. I’ve cleaned pans that looked as bad or worse than those pans with Bar Keepers Friend with perfect results.
I actually have this and only used it once. There was a wine stain I couldn't remove with anything else but this brought it right up. I'd say it works.
For the pan, you can regularly do a quick scrub of Barkeeper’s friend as maintenance. It would probably take the rest of what the pink stuff left on it. Also, oven cleaner sprayed on and then covered with plastic wrap for a few hours, or even overnight would loosen up the burned on grease and make it much easier to scrub off. I have 17 year old stainless steel pots and pans and they still look almost new and I use some of them almost everyday
It was sold door to door by salesmen as a start up company when it first came out in 1981 in CA. I bought the 1/2 gallon bucket for $10. It lasted a several yrs . Couldn't find it again, wasnt in stores then. I found the empty bucket last year & finally tossed it. I liked it so much I kept the bucket for 40 yrs lol! Never knew until now it is available again.
The spray Awesome, when it first came out would clean anything baked or burnt on by simply spraying, soaking and then rinsing off. They changed it years ago and no longer works. I e already seen a change in the Dawn Power Wash since it first came out too. Same with Comet Gel tile cleaner and Lime Away.

I've been using Pink Stuff since the 90s before it was commercially available as a professional home cleaner. There is really no need to soak, its all about the product and elbow grease. The air fryer didn't clean as well because of the metal type and the baking on effect. This product works wonders on stainless steel. Use your fingers to remove from jar, not sponge, you do not want water to get into the container.
I have been trying to get the inside glass of my oven and toaster oven doors clean for forever. Tried everything. Long story short, I used this stuff and they look as clean shiny, and spotless now as the day I bought them. NOTHING else I tried cleaned them like this. It's awesome!
It's just detergent and soda crystals though. I don't get how so many people are saying they "tried everything" when they're such common household products used for cleaning almost everything.
I had a salesman come to my job in Oklahoma back around 1983 or so, worked great on my chair that my son had drawn on back of with a black marker, moved into my new house, now chair back was exposed to every one, scrubbed with water, toothbrush and pink paste and it all came out without messing up the chair fabric. Loved it but haven't been able to find for years, thanks for letting me know it still exists.
You will probably hate me for this but i know a cheaper way to keep your pots and pans cleaner with less scrubbing right from the start. Take a little bit of liquid dish soap put a thin layer on the bottom and up the sides a bit and start cooking 🍳 give it a quick scrub down with soap and water and it should look like new again. Now with my why it worked better on the pan verses the toaster and the cookie sheet. The toaster is of a light steel if not aluminum plus its painted, the cookie sheet is aluminum and i also believe they work like cast iron once they get cured they bake better, and the pan is made of a heavier aluminum which is a denser material or stainless steel. If it is stainless steel you should always scrub with the grain so you dont scratch it. Great review though.
I've been using Pink Stuff for about year now. I stumbled across it when I couldn't find Power Paste (another great cleaning paste but never in stock). This cleaned a nasty vintage Revere Ware copper bottom tea kettle, rust stains from a procelain sink and my stove. For stainless steel pan bottoms, it's safe to use steel wool. Can't use Brillo/SOS with nonstick surfaces but you sure can use it on your stainless steel pan (I have one identical to it).

Yeah, I was noticing that she only seem to be able to scrub in a back-and-forth motion, which is not going to be as effective as the circular motion she used on the pan.
Thank you for this review. I've been on the fence about The Pink Stuff, but your stove top and pan have convinced me that it's not all just hype. I'm looking forward to testing it out.

I just used a regular, brand new, Pumice stone on my conventional oven and it came out perfectly. It was the easiest approach for me. The Pumice disintegrated by the end but I'll do it again.
I live in an area with extremely hard water. I have installed a water softener but the previous owners did not have a softener and probably not a squeegee either. Hard water, if left, will not only leave white mineral spots on glass doors, it etches them; just eats into the glass. Use all the cleaners and techniques you can find, it will not remove etching. Etching has to be polished out. This Pink Stuff, my drill with a polishing pad on it and some elbow grease polished all the etching out of the glass and it looks brand new.
So glad to see you back! When I was a kid, we had a boat in a salt water environment which was harsh on its hardware. I wonder if it would work on my glass shower doors which are clouded with 37 years of limescale deposits. Lord knows, I've tried EVERYTHING (from CLR to lye cleaner to special glass cleaner made to remove water spots) and A LOT of elbow grease and have only made marginal headway. If this stuff can get my shower doors 100% clean, I'd be amazed.

Love your review. I've order some of this Pink Stuff for my ceramic cooktop. It is 21 years old and looks new, except for a few spots on one burner. So looking forward to trying this Pink Stuff!
This product in the UK is very well priced (I think around $5 or less) & is available at a lot of stores - we've been using it for years, it still takes a little elbow grease ofc but it does work on many things.
@@debrachapman60 it's cheap because it's just soda crystals and detergent with added colouring and scent. You could do the same with something like Fairy washing up liquid and a spoonful of soda crystals. I keep a bag under my kitchen sink as they're great for all kinds of things. This thing is only so highly priced because it went viral and people think it's something special.
@@mydogeatspuke it is really handy though. And cheap in the UK. It went viral here in 2018/19 and everyone was buying it. I'm very impressed with it. I've tried the washing up liquid and soda crystals method but found it a chore. Hopefully the US will make their own version so it will be cheaper. 😊
@@debrachapman60 I mean that you find mixing two things together on the thing you want to clean a chore is.. unfortunate, I guess? I'm just saying it's cheap because it's made with very affordable and easily obtained ingredients. I don't actually care what people spend their time and money on. I was just saying why it's cheap.
There was a powder that come with my new induction top stove. It wasn't a name brand it was some sort of commercial product not sold in stores. I used it on a stove in a clean out I did that the top and everything was covered in burnt nasty food. It cleaned it right off. I wish I could find it for retail sale.
i have been using this tip for years that if sos pads dont work to use oven cleaner, spray it on and let it sit for about 20 30 mins and then use a sos pad on it to do the job
If you live in the uk you can get this for under a £5 from most shops. I accidentally left mine in the sun after cleaning and it went bit hard so I just add a bit of water to the layer I was using.
For the cookie sheet, put it in the oven on the cleaning cycle to strip it, wash it really well after, rhen season it like you would a naked iron skillet. I don't like the baking pans with the nonstick coating, but you can strip them, too, just make sure to scrub all the residue off well. Get plain old cheap ones and season them, though. So much easier, because you can just reseason as needed and not worry about scratching the special coating off.
I'm a new purchaser and haven't cleaned anything yet. I'm looking forward to using this on my cookie sheets and pots and pans. I noticed that you are using a Swedish wash cloth to wipe with. I just discovered them about 6 months ago and I absolutely love them. I give my friends a couple to try and everyone that has tried them loves them as well. Would love to hear feedback about the wash cloths.
9:40, a different heat source between the pan and the Ninja oven since the oven has a Fixed heating rod closer to the surface which makes the food particles stick or heat cook onto the surface then the pan which ya can clean easily. Neat pink stuff that works. Nice review.
The pink stuff is available in Australia because I've seen it on the shelves but it looks and appears to work just like gumption which is whiteish grey and has been around for years. I use it on a ceramic cooktop in preference to cerapol and it's a lot cheaper.
I think that the pan got cleaner because you were able to scrub in multiple directions, and a circular motion. The toaster thing only seem to allow you to go back-and-forth in one direction.
This is baking soda, quartz, sodium silicate, and soap with some perfume, chelation agents and red dye thrown in. Interestingly enough the PDF from the British site says to "use with gloves, may cause irritation."
Not baking soda but soda crystals. They're closely related but not the same thing. But yes, this is just that and detergent, and all the stuff that makes it sticky and smelly and pink. It's wild to me that all these people have "tried everything" but never thought to use two of the most common household cleaning products until someone stuck them together in a pink pot.
Barkeepers Friend works wonders. I buy several cans because I don’t ever want to be without it. Caked on grease comes right off I also use it in toilets and sinks because it takes hard water scale build up. Thank you 😊
I’m gonna try this stuff because I have a pan with backed on oil and nothing takes it off and definitely not the pink stuff I’m actually trying dawn professional power dissolve at this moment to see if it will come off if not I’m gonna try the cleanser because I heard it works from others also
@@comet969 When nothing works I bring out the big guns. Carbon Off spray gel. I’ve only been able to find it on Amazon. I use it for my oven and very high end cookware with no problems at all.
@@Karmah01 give it 35 -60 min to work. It really depends on how bad the “mess” is. This ALWAYS works for me. I sometimes burn stuff on my professional stove, Le Creuset, All Clad, Demeyere, etc. Wear gloves when using Carbon Off. It will dry your hands. Good luck. 🌻🌻🌻
The Pink Stuff is a mild abrasive. It works quicker on pans if you dont use a large pore sponge. Just use a regular one. I clean my glass stove top with a razor blade. Abrasives can make the glass cloudy over time.
Not bad on pots. I use oven cleaner, let it set and use SOS pads. I found that if you don't keep your pots clean, it really does a number on your cooktop.
Looks like great stuff how ever i dont think you should use it on the cookie sheet :) I hear from bakers thats it’s usually best to have that extra oily crust on there when baking ^_^
My mother was a pastry chef, and she always said the darker the pan, the better it will perform. She would not give up her old baking pans that were dark from use for Love or Money.
Pretty dope you did the stuff that actually warrants this stuff and not stuff you can kind of do with just a tid bit of elbow greese. I often joke that baking sheets need to be black because they look cleaner dirty at times
Also in the U.K. where the pink stuff is manufactured, you can buy toilet cleaner and a scrubber kit. I love my kit. Saves the hands. I’ll see about gifting you one when I head there next summer. I’ll be in need for a new kit too😉
I just watched another video and the young lady couldn't get her pot bottom clean but it was made from different material than yours. I think that material type dictates how well this cleaner works. It seems to work well on Stainless Steel, glass & ceramic tiles so far. I personally need less _Elbow Grease_ involved so I think I would leave it on a lot longer. Just brought some and was wondering if you can use it on a _burned pot?!_ Is it safe, I see you tried it on your Cookie Sheet.
Someone from my Buy Nothing Group gifted a jar of this to me recently. I had kind of given up on ever getting my oven door clean. I'd tried so many things and the vexing part is that it really looked like it should come clean with a little elbow grease. It never freaking did! I decided to try the pink stuff and OMG, I left it on for 5 minutes, came back and hardly even had to scrub! I'm embarrassed to say that oven door had been dirty looking for about 3 years! The rest of the oven always cleans up nicely but not that darned door!
Bar Keepers Friend is cheaper and much easier to find. I get mine at Dollar Tree. Works great on my copper bottomed Revere Ware and cookie sheets, etc.
Have you tried SOS on the bottom of that pot? That is what I use for tough jobs like that. I would never want to scrub away at that baking sheet. It is well seasoned, something the cooks of old would find very valuable. There is nothing like a seasoned baking sheet.
Bar Keepers Friend - both the liquid and the powder. I use it on everything. Have Pink Stuff paste also and use on shower doors and will now compare with BKF on my awful toaster oven!
I have found that oven cleaner on pots & pans in the oven while oven is on can help. You can finish it off with SOS pads and bar keepers friend. These products make it more effortless.
Hi all, I live in BC Canada near Vancouver, I recently found Bar Keeper's Friend...I saw a bunch of videos on YT about that product and found it at the local Canadian Tire store...It was on sale at the time for $3.99 (Canadian) normal price, $5.99...brought it home and so far I have used it on my glass stove top similar to the one the lady in this video has...it works pretty good there...but the thing I really was impressed with was the glass on the oven door...it was all mucked up with cooking splatter and had not been cleaned for a year or so, so it was baked on pretty good. I spread some of the BKF (I bought the paste formula not the powder) smeared it around using a light scrub with one of the scrubbies that has the green scrubby pad on one side and sponge on the other...I used the green scrubby side with very light pressure to spread the paste around...left it for about 1 minute...they say don't leave it on more than a minute...then gave it a light (I mean very light) scrub and it just came up so nice...took maybe all told about 5 minutes in total time laying it down, light scrub, and rinceing off the remaining residue...came super clean...very glad I bought 3 bottles when I did. Hope they put it on sale near when I am running out...also I used it on my glass shower door...oh my goodness...using light pressure and a scrub daddy...came very clean. I would recommend if you can get your hands on Bar Keeper's Friend...get some, you will love it.
Walmart carry this product in the cleaning aisle found it on bottom shelf comet , bar keepers friend. Wondered bout it. Skipped it, now going to try it on my stove top . Thxs
Wow this is a great review. Im going buy it right now. I wonder if you let sit over night. I wonder if mixing w baking soda with it, or even vinegar. Since it toxic free or whatever! Usually can mix those things without disastrous a effects. But I’ve never owned this stuff so I don’t know what it’s made of! So but im about too.
I used my on clothes, stains that I couldn't remove with other washing brands. Now my kids brings me their clothes with stains they couldn't get out.results remarkable. I used the paste didn't know about the spray,I'm on the look out for the spray.
I was sitting here looking at my ceiling fan and wishing I could clean the blades. I was wondering if there was some sort of “cleaning paste“ and I saw the pink stuff on Google but wanted to see a video on it. Thanks for your review! I’m going to try either this or something on this ceiling fan
Hey Pretty Lady!!! Have you ever tried Bar Keeper's Friend? It comes in a slightly powder like form...think old Comet can...and a more silky liquid version. MUCH cheaper usually in the store than Amazon. I use mine for my expensive stainless steel pans. Keeps them ao beautiful like new. Easy cleaning. My Instant Pot liner used to take FOREVER, now a mere minute or two with this. Many uses. It's a MIRACLE WORKER.
If you use this one you're stainless steel sink with a wet sponge scrubber you will see how amazing it comes out. It almost looks like A waterproofing agent in it. The way the water beads on the sink. I love this stuff
It still looks like a lot of scrubbing to get the pan clean but on the underside or saucepans, a Brillo pad will do great but I would not use it in the inside.
You might be safer using the pink stuff in the spray bottle on glass it is not as gritty as the stuff in the tub which has grit in it. Some people make a paste and apply with an old tooth brush and leave sot for a while. With pans like yours I usually have to apply it a few times and scrub each time and I do it over a few days and it works great it can just depend on how bad your pans get and if you are anything like me a bit lazy and at times get a mad notion to do the deep scrubbing work. Now what I do is as I replace pans I scrub them once a month with the pink stuff to try and keep on top of it
I have the same ninja air fryer little oven and it for some reason is super hard to clean to me too and I also used the pink stuff. Maybe it’s just what it’s made out of (the ninja)
Well it doesn’t get hard water off of showers. I have it under its old name. They’re just re-marketing it. I think it was called Pink Slime. Lol. I say a video of a comparison between this and Scrub Daddy Power Paste. The Power Paste won out by a margin, but both preformed well.
Hi, this stuff is extremely popular here in Glasgow Scotland UK , it costs between 89p and £1.00 depending on where you shop! How much is it in the states, P.S. it’s also great on PVC window & door frames 🏴🇬🇧🥂
for a second I thought you were reviewing THE STUFF which was a yogurt that ate people. It was a real movie that came out in 85 i think. you can see the trailer for it on youtube.
I put oven cleaner on my stove top and cover it with plastic wrap leave it for a few hours and it cleans like wonderful I do the same with my pots and pans
You should try using the green rag without lots of water. Wring it out well and use the paste without watering it down and it wil get the rest of the black off of the pan!
I bought a pail of the pink solution at Costco about 5 years ago. It’s amazing! My son was moving and he was staging his house. When he took up a small carpet in his daughters room there was black sharpie scribbles all over the rug that the carpet was hiding. His ex must have put it there so he wouldn’t know about it. He asked me what to do so I brought a tub of pink solution over from my place and wet the carpet down and scrubbed in the pink solution with a brush and let it sit for 20 minutes. Then I really soaked it and scrubbed it and every bit of marker came out. We’ve used it on spots on our carpets and on our bathtubs and sinks. A bit of pink solution in a spray bottle with water and it’s a great window cleaner. We are nearly out so I’ll get another tub when Costco has it again.

For bottoms of pans like that I use bar keepers maid. It works so much easier and way less scrubbing and u also use way less.
i have been using this tip for years that if sos pads dont work to use oven cleaner, spray it on and let it sit for about 20 30 mins and then use a sos pad on it to do the job
Thanks!
I think it depends on the metal on how well it works.
It’s very inexpensive in U.K. ( I think it’s made here). The small tub is 89p and the larger tub is about £1:50. I’ve used it for years.
It's basically just washing up liquid and soda crystals, that's why it's so cheap.
I will try this. Thank you
Also, fun tip. If you use the scrub daddy sponge (the original) with it and a touch of water it works on almost ANY pan, pot or metal stove top!!
It's because some people with sensitive skin may get irritation due to the ingredients especially the red dye and baking soda and perfume.
Yes. There's also a warning on baby strollers saying, "Don't collapse with child inside." Warnings abound.
All I can think is how toxic is this?
@@AnneWilkynson depends, are you planning to eat it? If so, very. Otherwise, no more so than any other completely normal household cleaner.
@@Kindlyone777 Never heard of Carbon Off. Googled it and I *_MUST_* have it! Thanks for the info! 😁
Same..
Yes it definitely works I ve use it on lots of things
I used this on an old scar on my leg when I was a teenager. I applied it twice a day for 3 days and bamb!! No more scar!!
I clean with baking soda and a good scrubber and elbow grease does wonders
Not bad on pots. I use oven cleaner, let it set and use SOS pads. I found that if you don't keep your pots clean, it really does a number on your cooktop.
Yup this is something I have seen as well and have been so curious! Thank you! I see it’s a must to have in the house 👍🏼
I use parchment paper instead of old baked on grease😂
Pretty dope you did the stuff that actually warrants this stuff and not stuff you can kind of do with just a tid bit of elbow greese. I often joke that baking sheets need to be black because they look cleaner dirty at times
I usually take a brillo pad to the bottom of the pots and pans
I’ve been using the pink stuff for years. A friend in London had it and I feel hard. Brought more of that back then my usual galaxy bars.
Also in the U.K. where the pink stuff is manufactured, you can buy toilet cleaner and a scrubber kit. I love my kit. Saves the hands. I’ll see about gifting you one when I head there next summer. I’ll be in need for a new kit too😉
Great, thorough review Cathy! I wonder if it would work on my granite composite sink?
I’m not sure, sorry. You might want to check the reviews on Amazon.
I wounder how bars keeper would work compared to that?
I have tired bars keeper, the pink stuff is better!
This was fun to watch and so satisfying! I would love to try it on old silver.
Thank you for the video. I will try the pink stuff once it gets here. I think your stovetop and pan bottom results were amazing!
You’re welcome! Happy New Year! 🙂
Good review Kathy are you going to review the Little Caesars calzone e
I plan on it! 🙂 It looks really good.
Bar Keepers Friend also works great. Spray and powder.. the powder is similar to Comet cleaner . the spray is easy on / easy off
Someone from my Buy Nothing Group gifted a jar of this to me recently.
Thank you i was hesitating to buy it at the Home Depot , it but was not shore if it would work .
Have you tried SOS on the bottom of that pot? That is what I use for tough jobs like that. I would never want to scrub away at that baking sheet. It is well seasoned, something the cooks of old would find very valuable. There is nothing like a seasoned baking sheet.
Enzyme cleaners plus time is my favorite stove top cleaner. Usually don't have to scrub at all.
Wonderif pans aren’t nonstick, would Brillo pad or brush work better? What about adding water to soak items? Hmmm
Bar Keepers Friend - both the liquid and the powder. I use it on everything. Have Pink Stuff paste also and use on shower doors and will now compare with BKF on my awful toaster oven!
Wow!! I’m ordering just off the way it cleaned your stovetop. I was torn between this stuff versus Power Paste.
I purchased some but haven’t used it yet. A friend is a janitor at a school at that’s what they exclusively use. They use it on carpet stains.
I was getting sore just watching you scrub! Would you say this is better than a Brillow or Kitchen cleanser?
I have found that oven cleaner on pots & pans in the oven while oven is on can help. You can finish it off with SOS pads and bar keepers friend. These products make it more effortless.
Have you ever tried Easy Off oven cleaner? That worked on my baking sheets real well. I know it would work on any stainless steel.
Thanks for the tip!
I just ordered this, it was only $6. My house was built in 1940 and it’s mostly original so as expected it’s a little on the dingy side in some areas.
I love this stuff to clean lots of things, especially the tiles in my bathroom.
Thxs
I love this stuff. It cleaned my tub and this is the only thing that takes off hard water stains
For the cookie sheet an the bottom of the pan you can also use oven cleaner
Wow this is a great review. Im going buy it right now.
I wonder if you let sit over night.
I wonder if mixing w baking soda with it, or even vinegar. Since it toxic free or whatever! Usually can mix those things without disastrous a effects. But I’ve never owned this stuff so I don’t know what it’s made of! So but im about too.
Thanks for sharing. I will order some from Amazon and try it. Cool how it cleaned bottom of pan and other items that can clean. Awesome as always
You’re welcome! 🙂
I used my on clothes, stains that I couldn't remove with other washing brands. Now my kids brings me their clothes with stains they couldn't get out.results remarkable. I used the paste didn't know about the spray,I'm on the look out for the spray.
Great video!!!! Cant wait to try on my pots!
Yes! I was just about to say the same thing. It keeps my stainless steel pans looking like new.
@@mimibatman2787 Does Bar Keepers Friend clean ovens?
I haven't used it to clean my oven. I think that it would work. I have always used a spray oven-cleaner left overnight so that I don't have to scrub.
Go to Harbor Freight and buy "abrasive balls" that fit on a common drill and you can clean your pans in about 5 minutes!!!
Does it come in Blue ?
What sponges you use? This also works for the inside?
If you use this one you're stainless steel sink with a wet sponge scrubber you will see how amazing it comes out. It almost looks like A waterproofing agent in it. The way the water beads on the sink. I love this stuff
Can’t you use the stainless scrubbers? That would help I’m sure
In New Zealand it's called Chemico, it's been around for decades. I love the stuff.
It still looks like a lot of scrubbing to get the pan clean but on the underside or saucepans, a Brillo pad will do great but I would not use it in the inside.
O.m.g. saw your baking pan it looks like mine was going to throw it out but now I'm going to try this now !!! Thxs again
Yoy’re welcome! 🙂
Cathy, that pan looks amazing! Great video!
Thanks Ross! 🙂
Now what I do is as I replace pans I scrub them once a month with the pink stuff to try and keep on top of it
I've never even heard of it! Now I have to get some!
I’ll look for it!
I put oven cleaner on my stove top and cover it with plastic wrap leave it for a few hours and it cleans like wonderful I do the same with my pots and pans
Thanks for the tip! I’ll give it a try.
I need to try spray bottle. Thanks
Power paste is better!!!! Try them side by side if you don’t believe me!!!
What “towels” are you using on your stove?
Have you tried Vinegar, bakinsoda and damp water ?
Are you using water to clean the pan the 1st time ?
