  • Next in the MRS KA Signature line is the Mass Production Nu Gundam! This mass-produced monster was actually given to ace pilots and have the option of Newtype equipment or regular equipment (which is what we get in this set). This is a monumental set but is it worth the hefty price tag?

    A couple points that weren't touched on (probably because they arent in the manual): Teal flaps under the incom doors can articulate for some reason (exhaust from mechanism?). And there are hidden hard points on the front skirts, back skirts, and legs which are for HWS and Full Armor parts. There was a design document passed around japanese twitter some time ago showing the proposal to make HWS and FA parts for this figure. Likely it would be taken advantage of if they reused components from the MP nu for a regaular of hi-nu KA Sig figure.

      I saw the HWS hard points but forgot about it. Didn’t know about the flaps though. Thanks for the info!

    That looks really good, especially the head sculpt, I regretted missing the PO period. Gotta camp for one on Mandarake after watching your review.
    Hopefully, the upcoming RD Nu Gundam is as good looking.

    My first KA Signature figure was the Nero. I was blown away, loved the feel, fit, and finish of it, so much so that I tracked down the EWAC and Trainer versions.
    Since then, I’ve gotten several more. EX-S, Dijeh, Shiki Kai MP. All amazing.
    One of my favorite MSs is the Barzam. I saw a KA Sig original Barzam for sale and I thought, wow, I need that. It’s the worst Gundam Damashii I’ve owned. It’s floppy, the articulation is awkward and lacking. I notice the copyright on the box was 2014, which put it several years older than any other KA sig I’ve purchased. I immediately got gunshy about buying similarly aged figures from that line.
    Have you had any similar experiences? Do you have a cutoff point with age where you feel like they’re no longer up to par with quality? I see older KA Sigs like Bolinoak and Silver Bullet and I’m not really willing to gamble on them despite my curiosity.

    • @UCRDReviews
      @UCRDReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I never owned the Barzam or Silver Bullet but I did own the Bolinoak. It was a good figure. I didn’t really have any complaints. I stopped buying them after the Missile Pod Xi Gundam came out and I didn’t pick the line back up until I started reviews. Maybe the Barzam was a one-off. I have heard of issues with Full Armor MkII as well tho.

    17:00 Most Hi-Nu figures are scaled to the Beltorchika's Children book continuity (where everything is slightly smaller). This MP Nu Gundam seems to be scaled to the anime continuity.

    • @UCRDReviews
      @UCRDReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is true but there should realistically be a 2 meter difference between Hi-Nu and Nu and the figures have a much greater size disparity.

      @@UCRDReviews I like the DFF one other than its beam rifle. I like that it is for the most part rather faithful to the OG design. But I also like the slightly more elongated feet on the DFF one vs this MP NU's. Just looks better in my opinion.

      Every version of the Nu is just a BEAST of a mobile suit. I sorta look at the Nu as being regal, or the "king" of all Gundams and the MP incomm version is a really awesome design (although this ms would get spanked by Sazabi with ease)....

    Are Ka signature and metal a different scale?

  • @blipblip
    @blipblip ปีที่แล้ว +1

    There is a Ka Signature Hi Nu coming out soon. It was already shown in a few Tamashii Nation shows within Japan. Not sure about that design from very low res picture though. There is also another Ka Signature Nu coming out probably around the same time as the Hi Nu and I have already seen hi-res photo of it on some Japanese hobby magazines. I am not that impressed with its look to be quite honest. Definitely more in-line with the original Nu design and far less related to the MG Ver.Ka...but still not very good looking afterall. But as a lover of Nu and Hi Nu I probably will pick them up regardless. Edit: in the same picture one can see the Ver Ka Hi Nu in the back too but it's blocked by this Mass Production type Nu since it is the subject of the article.
    Personally I think the MRD Hi Nu you have has a lot of things right in terms of design. The best looking RG which is the Hi-Nu was clearly taking a lot of design cues from it. The only problem with it is its QC. I never came across a decent copy without some sort of paint defects.

      @blipblip ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TurnTexAustin But you bet they will lol. Never underestimate the milking power of Bandai.
      I just wish that they would improve upon the design of both before they are released though. Not up to par at this point imo.
      On the other hand I am positively sure that the Full Armor Haiku Shiki MRD will come out next since it was featured clearly on the same magazine (HJ). Also a Ka sig. but looks a lot better than both Nu and Hi Nu.

  • @beromane
    @beromane ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This looks really nice, probably gonna grab it at some point. Im kinda behind on MRS tho, still want to get the Hazel and Woundwort
    That comparison to the MRS Hi Nu is crazy, I wish Bandai was better about scales for these. They dont need to be exactly the same scale, but its kinda bad when the figures barely even look like theyre from the same line lol

    • @UCRDReviews
      @UCRDReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it’s because they’re from two different lines. MRS is separate from KA Sig and has different scaling. It would be nice to have some forced consistency

    • @beromane
      @beromane ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @UC-RD Reviews lmao youre right idk how I completely forgot that. Id still prefer similar scaling though. HG and RG models can do it despite often having different designs to them, idk why we cant have something close with figures

    • @blipblip
      @blipblip ปีที่แล้ว

      @@beromane LOL. You never built the RG Hi-Nu? No way it is according to the scale in the lore at all. But I hear you about the HG though. Honestly as long as the difference aren't too extreme then I am all for something more detailed and well designed. I am sort of pass the age for really caring about the accuracy to the lore haha.

    • @beromane
      @beromane ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blipblip Yeah the Hi Nu scale is off, its more of an exception than the norm though. Basically every RG before that was about the same height as an HG.

    • @blipblip
      @blipblip ปีที่แล้ว

      @@beromane But then if you compare the RG Nu to the HG or the EG Nu the RG is clearly taller as well. RG Nu might be proportionally scaled correctly with the RG Sazabi but I honestly never know which is one is perfectly representing 22m in 1/144 scale.
