During the LBC ( a London radio station) programme this morning (Saturday 25/05/2024) they talked about the forthcoming UK general election. People could not remember how many Prime Minsters in the UK since 2015, some of whom were unelected by the general public (elected by only Tory members). Some people said that it was undemocratic but the radio presenter defended that there was a democratic process. Then someone said that Ukraine was not democratic because the current president had cancelled the March election. The radio presenter defended that the election in Ukraine had been cancelled because there was a war going on. The listener pointed out that Victoria Nuland of the US had installed a puppet president in Ukraine in 2014, and started a conflict in that region. The radio presenter cut him short.
There is little democracy in the UK because the government and its agencies align with each other to control the media. They do not allow dissenting voices.

BTW in UK general elections(GE) voters do not vote for a Prime Minister(PM), they vote for an MP candidate to represent them. After the election is over the majority of MPs decide on a PM. UK GE is not like the US presidential system.
Also the PM does not have to be an elected MP, but can also be a member from the house of Lords.
