Only thing I didn't agree with wtii was Demon Hunter Metamorphosis. Wtii said hand needs to me normal but that will destroy her more no? I mean when in Metamorphosis they become ranged and shoot fel magic from hands. If it's normal arm that would totally destroy the point
I think the portraits are now objectively the worst part. They look low-res and most of the characters have really weird expressions. Needs a complete rework, IMO, because at the moment the original versions are actually superior.
You're telling me you don't love Meth Head Jaina? Jokes aside they should've used the HOTS models as reference because I'm pretty sure they use the same engine. If I'm wrong then they should've used the HOTS models as reference at least for the hero portraits because some of the ones I saw are just horrific.
@@AwayWithYouVileBeggar HotS is Starcraft 2 engine, but still, I believe they could have somehow just converted the format. In my opinion, HotS really hits how Warcraft would look with more polygons. Just look at Illidan, Thrall or Kael. Kael looks almost exactly the same, except maybe his cloak is bigger. At the moment, I think there's just 1 character I like more in reforged than HotS and that's Maiev, because they did copy her WC3 look and not her WoW look.
The Archer I don't mind the posture so much, but I get what you are saying. The druid of the claw kinda looks like someone just punched him in the gut, and he is hunched over, makes my back hurt just looking at it. Love the Warden, and ancient of lore, and I personally really like the starry looking avatar. Leaves don't bother me on the ancients, but have not actually played NE in reforged yet. I kinda think the tattoos on the demon Hunters should be team color, at least on metamorphosis, the only other team color is the hero glow. To me about the only thing that stands out, or what I see first, is that really bright green.
@@randjan8592 They didnt change anything, but I feel like they took feedback from the other races as they finished these ones. Basically the other races don't have as much bright visible colour
All of the icons are just updated versions of the original icons so I don't really feel that the "This doesn't tell me this is an archer" criticism is 100% valid lol
Interesting what you said about the Chimera's lankiness. I was actually persuaded by MinuteEarth's video on "The Best Dragon (According to Science)" that dragons should be much lankier than we naturally expect - and in my mind, that also applies for the Chimera. (Also, quick question - how do the Dryad and Keeper of the Grove compare side by side? I wonder if the KotG is longer so it's slightly easier to distinguish them?)
Everything looks so busy and muddled up with horrendous amounts of detail, ontop of there no longer being a proper, easily-readable art direction to match the critically needed distinction between units and gameplay - this all wraps up into making the new artstyle into looking unfocused, ill-refined and all over the place; likely putting no extra thought into matching the visuals with actual gameplay, beyond them saying "Hey, uprez everything." I feel as the crazy proportions units were given in the previous iteration of the artstyle, conveyed clearly what to expect from that unit. (Ogres, Tauren and TC being big, bulky, tanky units that take up lots of space. Smaller proportioned units taking up less space and being less cumbersome to control, etc.) It just feels like they didn't take the gameplay into account when making these uprezzed, and sometimes unnecessarily redesigned additions to units.
I don't think the new model looks like Brightwing from Heroes of the Storm at all. In fact, I think Brightwing is a great example of a cute faerie dragon with a big ol pattable forehead. The ones in reforged are fine but I think the more '"realistic''" take make them less interesting
When you take away the wings, tail, those two feathers on the head, colour of the skin and the general body shape including the head, yeah, it doesn't look like it at all.
Hey man, The old icons dont tell u which unit is either I remember when i started playing the game and i didnt know what am i supposed to get from those icons.. Cuz except from some examples (shaman, necromancer, units that have something representative on their heads) u can't tell that well. I guess we just have to get used to them as we did to the old ones.
Problem with bears is that they gave them giant butts, and changed the posture, originals are really uprightish with small rear, while new ones lean fowards almost being opposite of original's posture. And with everything else, horrible animations that dont even try to be alike originals. Really generic movement on everything while originals have really unique standing out movement, and they have no excuse for any of that because War3hd remakes from Starcraft 2 have exacly the same motion as classic models
id say its actually pretty good they are changing things like that , where is it written that they should be exactly the same ? some things might not be that good from the older version , and might be done better in the new version tho
Teal is kind of the default color, hence the default teal armor on hyppogryph. Speaking of hyppogryphs, I really am not feeling the new parrot style. Too colorful, will be harder to differentiate ingame
It seems that you are nostalgic too much (pidaras koroche). Look at Demon Hunters demon form in WoW and say again "oh Illidan is looking too demonic to meee". Like what?

The portraits are HORRENDOUS
