Well....no ladies.....sometimes it is too late! Not very wise to not accept that fact.............so do it now!!!! So...................I'm 75 years old and about to leave the country again!!! Want something different and new and powerful. Realizing that if I don't just jump.....in spite of the fear...no fears........I'm gonna die in my over 55 senior apt!!! While my health is still good and I can see and walk and smell and I got my damn mind. I'm a going!!! Love you !
It is obviously more expensive (not a disadvantage if you live on a Swiss income) but in the „Mittelland“ where most people live, the climate is actually moderate, compared to the East Coast (colder summers and slightly milder winters with less snow).
I think getting a job lined up abroad is so helpful for black women who want to make the move. Speaking from someone who has done it, It was so convenient and easy to make the jump, especially to countries that don't speak English as a native language.
I have no interest in living in Switzerland BUT I love seeing women follow their dreams. I had heard that Stzrland is REALLY HARD to emigrate to....even need a citizen to provide a "testimonial of your character..." but seems like with a job offer, really helps. "Yes the see the U.S. contradictions, yes!" this was true in Italy years ago too...
In Switzerland we value your and our privacy , this may sometimes come across as unfriendliness maybe sometimes that can be the case but generally it is to be not intrusive .
This is so similar to my story in reference to speaking what I wanted and needed in a job and being completely floored when the opportunity opened up for me. Like, "what???" Bless the Lord!
Switzerland is very diverse. When you say that 30% of the population are expats that means that you have to count all the people that have gotten swiss passport. Then you are easily over 50%. My daughters class they only had 1 or 2 really swiss pupils. Talking about melting pot Americans always cite NY as melting pot. There is nothing melting in NY everybody is in his corner you have streets with Nigerians and they are all taxi drivers and so on.
I LOVE this mindset of “everything is figure-out-ble”! It’s truly encouraging to see black women set the standard yet again, as explorers, adventurers, etc. Also, it’s a confirmation that I’m on the right path and doing so with my tribe of women.✨👸🏾
In the countryside lots of people grow their own food, but almost always only as a hobby or for some additional fresh and organic food. There is also a certain trend towards urban gardening. In Switzerland the weather and climate depends on the region and on the altitude. A few hundred meters further above sea level can make quite a difference. I grow hot peppers in my garden. It's quite challenging. I start indoors with grow lights and have to wait until the beginning of may to put them outside.
@@Dubbudhahow did you get started. I’m from Chicago born and raised but I always took a liking to the quiet cornfield farm life and always want that for myself and my family. Even though I don’t think they would be on board now I feel like they would gravitate towards it if someone just starts it. But anywho, i just got out the military and was in Germany and England for my enlistment. I’m 25 now, but I honestly kinda feel stuck since I am here back in Vegas but the lifestyle doesn’t synchronize with mines. Vegas is too low vibrational to live in long term. I don’t know anyone in Switzerland and I would love to network with other black women there so I won’t feel so alone. I love solo traveling but living there alone is scary for me a little bit and I’m a introvert. Lol

I've only heard wonderful things.....would love to live there, although it's crazy expensive and can get very cold. Brrr...🥶

Switzerland is far from being diverse with the foreigners being mostly of European descent...
@@MelinaAeb. and that is not a bad thing. Don't feel entitled to someone else's country.
Loved the conversation. We need all perspectives and this certainly inspiring.

Anyone here growing their own food or into gardening in Switzerland?

This is what I would like to. I will planning a trip to Switzerland this year coming 2024.

Good morning. I am also a chemical engineer, want to choose another career path. Please, I need her mentorship
What's wrong with your career? You'd make a pretty penny anywhere in Asia.
