    Excellent channel, each subject is dealt with concisely and clearly. I'm a natural born cynic but the fact a company like Myprotein takes the trouble to produce these videos without making them a marketing exercise gives me confidence in their products.

    Ha. I tried the chocolate smooth. Never felt had so many headaches and felt so drained. Plus I couldn't sleep. Looks like the sucralose in the powder was causing this.
    I ordered the unflavoured, tarted it up with cocoa powder and was fine.
    Cant understand why the need to pump powder full of that shit

    Well iv been on a very low calorie diet and love my cup of coffee and they haven't affected my weight lose and as 4 sugar cravings that's rubbish. I went on a 4 day fast a couple of months ago and found myself craving biscuits crips junk food while watching TV. That's what I used to do eat crap while watching TV during the bloody lockdowns. I haven't eaten any junk food in months and don't even want it. I was always an intermittent faster all my adult life with out even noing it. We don't need 3 meals a day and snacks in-between meals its rubbish. I do like a calorie free sweetener tablet in my coffee tho. They haven't been a problem to me . I have 14lbs to lose now. Iv lost 17lb more in 2 months with out even trying and feel great. I'm thinking about doing another 3 day fast to give my body another kick start. I don't miss any junk food in fact it's all mind over matter. Junk food now actually makes me feel ill just thinking about it. I won't have it in the house .

    Heyyyy, make a video on the nutritive (?) sweeteners. Xylitol is my absolute favourite. I can't stand the taste of artificial sweeteners and avoid that level of restriction in my diet. But xylitol? It's identical to sugar as far as my tongue is concerned. Identical!

    Hi
    I can only answer this with my experience , but used them for 30 odd years now and never experienced any side effects or health issues people talk about and am 54 and bmi and bp are all in range and I look young for my age .
    Everybody is different though and react differently to different chemicals but I live in the uk and government agency websites such as the British heart foundation and cancer research uk also confirm are all safe to consume and there is no conclusive scientific research to definitely suggest otherwise .
    If your that worried about them then there are more natural alternatives such as monk fruit (best) , stevia , xylitol and if your still worried and are a healthy adult then just use a little sugar - a few spoonfuls a day should not harm most people and there is only 16 kcal in a teaspoon so even 5 spoonfuls would equal to 80 kcal and an average adult can consume 2000kcals a day so not that much . Otherwise best just don’t consume sweetners / sugar at all if you want to be absolutely safe or consume foods with natural sugars such as fruit and dried dates but not too many - I use dried dates a lot as I do have a sugar craving especially after a meal and they are a good substitute for very sweet foods and mixed with some artificial sweetners in my tea and cereal them I don’t have to binge on unhealthy sweet foods. If however , you have health issues such as diabetes and high blood pressure then consult your doctor but as far as am aware these sweetners can be used by these people as well .
    Thanks for the video

    What about sucralose and microbiom? After using sucralose literelly every day for 3 years (not over recommended amount) I ended up with unpredictable often diarrheas. Finally after 2 months I tried to completely cut off sucralose in any way and started to use probiotics and the diarrhea was gone! So according to my experience is probably not that safe and I dont plan to use it ever again.

    • @adamzomparelli8026
      @adamzomparelli8026 ปีที่แล้ว

      using it every day is a bit excessive though. having a lot of things every day for 3 years can have an affect on your body. but why wouldn't you just use sugar at times?

    • @baaajola
      @baaajola ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adamzomparelli8026 Because I love sweets and I eat sweets every day. :) If I use sugar I have to eat generally less. I already eat sugar in fruit and other stuff, thats why I like to use lowcalorie sweeteners. Moreover added sugar is also bad for the tooth decay (if I use sugar instead of sweeteners I have more tooth decay with the same oral hygiene). Sucralose is also in many protein powders and protein products that many people consume every day and might even dont realize it. Now I am smarter with sweeteners, but I wanted to point out, that sucralose might be really harmful for the microbiome (so its not a myth) and MyProtein uses it as main sweetener because its very cheap. They also use stevia now, but stevia has no good taste. They should start using erythritol.

  • @ripwig6682

    Stevia? More about Stevia? Isn't it the best choice of sweetener?

    • @GoodestGOAT
      @GoodestGOAT 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are concerned about taste, a sucralose or aspartame + acesulfame potassium combo will produce a taste most similar to sugar. I think the sweet taste for Stevia is delayed slightly so it will taste off compared to sugar. But if you are concerned about health, none of the 8 non-nutritive sweeteners approved by the FDA have any credible negative health effects reported. So I'd opt for acesulfame potassium + sucralose because they are really cheap and last for years (that is, if you buy them in the pure form. Not like Splenda or these other brands filled with maltodextrin)
