I think one issue with the lack luster combat is the enemy animations. The character models for the wildlife in Pax Dai are beautiful but static and stiff in their movement. I think a good animator could really bring them to life, which would actually make combat feel more invigorating. Currently, it feels fighting robot animals at an amusement park lol Great video!.
I wish the movement , climbing and jumping was more like ashes of creation. Though the harvesting, crafting, and building are much better than ashes, the combat and skill system is not as good.
Performance is not terrible, I play on high settings with my 6800XT, but I'm OK with the FPS being below 60 most of the time (1440p ultrawide). The freezes and lags are a bigger issue for me, as are crashes and texture issues with AMD cards.
Thanks for the tip about pausing while skinning multiple animals. I have been missing out on xp there...

is everyone playing this with a 4090 or how do you get acceptable fps in this game?!
