do you use cubic or quartic pieces for your rolls in fvd?

I mainly use quartic, but I sometimes use cubic for complex roll sections. I try to never have a graph that has a flat-line above 0 (so doesnt look like this; \__/, instead \/). I also use quintic double bumps for some transitions or outerbanks.

@@NL2.JC023 how do you prevent super snappy and unsmooth transitions with quartic? i’ve been using cubic because it allows for smoother roles, but seems like you don’t really have that issue.

Thanks, I'd say that you should never use a quartic function at 200 or above (absolute max 250) for less than 1.5s, and don't use a quartic function for 0.5-1s unless it's a very small amount of roll, like 10 ~ 80 at most. I think that using cubic with a flat top makes look the roll more fluid, but not necessarily smoother, but that will remove the whip (which is created through rapidly accelerating roll) as well. I'd say whichever you prefer is the best for you, but I personally think quartic is much more realistic and I'm personally pleased with most of my rolls using quartic. I'll have more tutorials out after June 16th (when my exams end), and I hope I've helped!

No problem, and thanks! I hope to cover as much as possible. Is there anything in particular you'd like to see covered?

I have one in progress, I just need to get better at blender to make realistic track for the lift hill and drop

@@NL2.JC023 you can do that with the support tab honestly!

You can, but I want to make the track like the track used on the lift and drop for their gigas. It's slightly different and I really want it to be as close to the real thing as I can make it
