    There a fundamental difference my lecturer pointed out with regards to privacy and confidentiality. Privacy revolves around protecting information for users eg. users biodata and information of that likeness. However, confidentiality revolves around protecting information that has strategic value to an institution or organisation, failure to which that strategic value will be impacted negatively eg. covert operations for a military institution.
