This is simply the method of working with an excavator on streams - whether to remove beaver dams or to desilt the stream during drainage works. The moth and other material is simply collected and deposited on the upper part of the stream bank.

Several times during drainage works, when we were desilting streams, nearby farmers took the extracted moth to their fields - so you are absolutely right, it is the best soil, better than fertilizers.
