You should have shown that the green light (Green button) is showing. This device has a low and high sesitivity mode. Low sen it would not pickup power through those tiles. No idea why you would close the green light with your thumb. Activate the high sense by pressing green button with a quick press, long press will activate light. Quick press give high sense and you will then pickup even the power in your mouse cable :)
