Another Peugeot 207 GTI Problem, this time it couldn't build up boost but I was able to drive it normally though. Error code was P1337 -Join my Facebook page: www.facebook.c...
P1337 for THP engine is : "misfire cylinder 1, risk to detoriate catalyst" "Rate of misfires in cylinder 1 sufficient to damage the catalyst, with low fuel level. Check ignition coils, spark plugs, injectors". That's what the document from Peugeot themselves says ! If not any of the specified parts, it usually is the high pressus pump or timing chain.
@@NikolanovI've had friends whose 207, 208 and 3008 broke down. I'm not hating. The statistics say it all. Peugeot isn't even close to the top 10 when it comes to reliability. Don't get worked up.
@@stefano3124 my guy, all of these cars have 1.6thp engine. So if your friend had 1.6thp it was same shit as this one. Other petrol and diesel engines? Reliable as fuck.
Vucko be aware of these engines when it comes to timing. They can lose timing easily so avoid hitting the rev limiter and generally sudden movement of the engine, such as a sudden downshift, the jolt of the engine can make the timing chain skip a tooth and then the cars starts acting strange. So be gentle
I had the same great car Try to check the oxygen sensor Front gasoline fuel (electronic). I recommend this option Always fill your tank with 98 octane fuel The oil gauge should be 5-30
If you don't want to burn a sh*t ton of oil you better run the THP with a 5w40 oil. Some people use thicker oil when doing a lot of (or only) track days such as 10w60
I think if you only drive for groceries you're putting a large strain on the car as opposed to driving long distances. Also make sure to let the car idle before you turn it off to take good care of the turbo
I also got boost problems and I currently have 4 fault codes, camshaft position sensor (engine timing over-advanced) and boost pressure code etc. but been driving it. Also engine overhaul done at 175000km, new pistons etc. because a hole appeared in my piston
@@VuckoHDimo it's expensive and only looks cool 😆 It's useful if you run an external dump valve for sure but with the stock dump valve it's useless for the perf imo 😆
Hey! I had the same error code which came with a misfire error, and slowly developed into a full misfire under load. I'd reccommend replacing your entire ignition system, and if not that, BOTH o2 sensors. If it's not a spark issue, unfortunately it could mean timing chain.
@@VuckoHDagain - very true, thanks for catching me on that one. Hope she’s running okay atm - mines currently sitting dead with only a 2 speed transmission 😂
@@azer9237 Yeah today is finally fixed after like 10 days driving it often and hard...I almost wanted to sell it of how upset I was but it seems nothing now compared to your 2 speed Pug 😅
Haha, well 340whp from the motor and an incorrectly installed clutch from the previous owner will do it. The delivery guys threw out the new gearbox too so another week at least before I can drive my baby 🙁
ive been looking into buying a 207rc with hopes of it not being too difficult on me. i.e not having to do any extensive maintenance on it constantly but just regular maintenance (oil, filters etc.) and being able to just drive it daily without worrying about it too much. do you think that if i get a decent one without too many KM on it ill be able to daily it without it being a headache or is it pretty bad in terms of maintenance?
I'm a little late however, I owned one for 2 years and it was in the mechanic at least every 3 months for something. Fun car but unless you can fix it yourself it will end up costing you a lot.
Mate just swap them all and your spark plugs, you don't want to have this on a track day. My old c5 audi was taken on a trailer once, from French back to Holland. We had 2 overnights waiting for a rental car to back home. At home I found out there where to bad sparkplugs. So funny, all those costs and time for just 2 cheap sparkplugs. The French mechanic just didn't do any check and those old cars didn't gave any codes. If I just replaced those plugs instead of ignoring them. These days it's the first thing I do after buying and maintenance a car. Learn from your mistakes 😂😂😂
@@quirinus_online Agree and I actually did put new spark plugs around half a year ago. It's true especially with my 207 GTI I need to bring ignition coils, spark plugs, oil, coolant 😅
I expect much worse tbh, good job looking forward for new Peugeot content! :) ❤

Literally no one I know that ever had a peugeot had no issues, lol.
Just the classic THP problems xD I bought another car to get rid ofmy ds3
literally only 1 problematic engine dude...

U should change the intercooler pipes in the engine makes a huge difference it's like the car gets anew tune
I'm would love to but right now they are very expensive

You should sell it and buy a VTEC.
It's good car I have one and everyday I travel from Oman to Dubai
Which vtec in 1.6 is faster than 207 gti remapped. Mine is 202hp (ecu remap and exhaust)and I’m faster from b16 Honda stock or remapped
i had all the same problems I love the car but every time the car broke I wanted to bash my head into a wall so I sold it 😿
