Future Lemons?? Looking Over Cars In a Last Minute Purchase

So, the dealer, a buy here pay here, sold a truck that was "sure to go to him" while we were already driving almost 200 miles to the dealer. Long story short, this dealer was supposedly the "best" option, so instead of ending the trip, we kept going and he decided to look for something else.
This is where we came to these two Fords after looking at vehicles and debated which one was better.
Working with only what I know and can find out, I inspected to the best I could (basically just made sure nothing was too sketchy).
No this is not the friend in the previous videos.
Should he have Escaped the dealer, or Focused on something else??
