Purdue holds a dominating 117-89 lead in the series v. Indiana. Purdue is the reigning Big Ten champion, winning the title in 2017 and giving the school a conference-leading 23 overall. Gene Keady was 21-20 v. Bob Knight career and Matt Painter is 11-8 career v. Indiana, having led them to wins in 5 of the last 6 meetings, dating back to 2014.
@Emerson Foote That's because IU wins when it actually counts. ▪22 Big Ten championships. ▪22 sweet sixteen appearances. ▪11 elite eight appearances. ▪8 final four appearances. ▪5 National championships. Purdue's biggest accomplishment is keeping all of the ugly girls out of IU.
@Emerson Foote you will hear more of it. Purdue is done...we done recruited from your back yard and got Mr Basketball. Hope you enjoyed your flash in the pan victories.
they play today, and if you are a fan of IU or Purdue....its all you think about. Best rivalry in the Big by far and honestly i would put them second to NC DUKE only because IU has been down lately
Seeing the game the other day was like the IU-Purdue match-up of old. Nail biter and down to the wire. Now you have two programs, with head coaches of their Alma maters. Now it is interesting again.
@@willrussell6384 Yeah the Bucks will probably miss the tournament this year but that's OK, they don't deserve it. But then again in Columbus basketball is kind of an afterthought. Purdue however will be in the tournament but once again will not be in the Final Four, probably won't even come close. They'll choke in tournament play. They've been doing that since the Reagan administration.
Purdue has not been to a final four in 38 seasons.During that same time IU has been there 4 times.Bobby Knight took iU to 3 final 4s from 1980-81 ,1991-92 shutting out Gene Keady
So u guys winning a couple championships 30-40 years ago makes u guys better now? Thats literally every IU fans logic, and when yall say u guys better, thats the only evidence u have to back it up... we got a couple banners too homie
@@caidenpetrie5948 it doesn’t make us better right now. But yeah when you don’t have any serious history there’s gonna be arguing points. Big ten titles and head to head record are moral victories. No one cares about those. Just being honest. Imagine you aren’t a Purdue or Indiana fan. Indiana got it done when it mattered. Sadly I never saw any of that. But that’s why there’s arguments
Purdue won the national championship in 1932 with John wooden. It's crazy you think the 5 you won in the 1950's are so much better. No one was alive or cares about any of them.

Jason Dailey It’s ok. Jeff Brohm is making us a football school.
Keady and Painter are both legendary for choking in tournament play.

Anyone here watching this before the game tomorrow? Purdue looking to win its third straight at assembly hall 👀
But then purdue will choke in the tournament.....again.
@@2014cwajts71 at least we will make the tournament

4 in a row now!!
I am from a year later and we won against IU for the 8th time
RIP Larry Cliz 🎯
Purdue has won 9 of the last 10.
I wish coach knight and coach keady could both be in attendance tonight together.

in ALL honesty as of december of 99 i really really HATE purdue and iu
Alright?
@@MonkeySpeaker2.0 thanks for the reply
Indiana U is way cooler and way better
They've been struggling lately but I'm kinda wondering if they'll give Steve Alford a call this offseason about a job.
@@2014cwajts71 I sure hope so,since Alford isnt much of a coach.
IU hasn't been a national championship contending team sense the 80's
Christopher Rubright neither has Purdue buddy. Just cause Purdue made one elite eight doesn’t make them title contenders. Keep dreaming🤣
chris simon Purdue’s contended twice in the past 5 years but ok
