Things You Should Know
1. Booking a room with breakfast is highly recommended. Although Kinosaki has many restaurants (near the train station and along the canal). Unfortunately, most are not open in the morning, leaving you with very few options, which are far worse than the Ryokan's exquisite breakfast.
2. If you want an authentic Ryokan experience, always book a dinner with your accommodation. Dinner is a highlight of every stay in a Ryokan, and the chef would always use the best local ingredients.
3. Based on my experience, rooms with futons are not recommended for the elderly or people with mobility issues. Always book rooms with western beds for them.
How to get to Kinosaki Onsen: Getting to Kinosaki Onsen is straightforward from Osaka. Zentan Bus provides direct service between Osaka and Kinosaki several times a day. Furthermore, you can take JR trains as well.
