You can tell just by the look on Loretta's face that if she wasn't married guarantee should would of been with Conway You can see she loves this so much
I grew up listening to mom's country music, I consider 'Hello Darlin'" A CLOSE 2ND to the greatest country music song of all time "He Stopped Loing Her Today". Mama LOVED Conway...I was playing outside and mom laying out in the sun w/the radio on and I saw she was crying...I asked her what was wrong, and she said "Conway just died, they're playing all his songs". Mom's gone now too, and here I am crying thinking of her...listening to Conway.
This was from Loretta's first TV special, the Lady and the Legend. Celebrating 20 yrs. It was filmed at the Ryman in 1981. I was there!!! They shot this take about three times before they got it right. Loretta's husband joked around at the end of this song and pretended that he was jealous and acted like he was going to hit Conway over the head with a guitar. This was a great show. Howard Hessman from WKRP in Cincinnati was in this take as a grandpa type. And of course Ernest Tubb. Great memory
If Conway had lived to be 100, he still would of been to young to pass on. His music will live on forever; I just wish he was here to keep singing it to us. Fortunately we have great people on TH-cam who post such wonderful renditions/recordings/versions/performances of his great music. God Bless ya, Conway.
I was thinking about my sweet husband singing it to me. He is in heaven now waiting for me to join him. What a happy time that will be when we are together for all eternity!
PLEASE PLEASE Keep this version of Hello Darlin' I love this song my favorite song in the world. The way he look's at Loretta as he sing's is true love. Thank you. Arronna.
One of the greatest country songs, performed by one of the greatest country singers. Grew up listening to this guy,(courtesy of my Mum) along with Don Gibson, Glen Campbell, Merle Haggard, Ned Miller etc.. This era was country music at it's finest.
This is one music duo that always gave me the impression of being a real couple for real! That alone is a hell of an achievement in entertainment. They always had fantastic chemistry together
Love Loretta and Conway Hello Darling I miss him so much but I still love his songs and always will listen to them God bless him in Heaven and he watching over his fans Amen 🙏🏻♥️🙏♥️🙏🙏🙏🙏
SORRY your Mother left (I'll asume divorce, I'd hate to think died" Did you see your mother often after she left? How did you, & her get along? How old were you? Did you hurt bad also? Did you live with your Dad? Divorce is soooo sad. I'm sooooo very SORRY, for you, and your Dad,
The story I read was, he was offered membership, but the Opry required he make so many appearances a year, he felt it would eat to much into his touring
Seriously? Darryl Sorensen is referring to Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter. IMO Conway and Loretta were much better. They had a very special love and deep friendship. RIP Conway!
i love these two. they r great. went to myrtle beach last October to see Loretta. it was a surprise for my birthday. i was so happy i was speechless. going back to see her again Oct 24.
I absolutely love this. I have a special connection with Conway and someone else through this song, and now we are complete strangers. I wish they'd sing this to me and tell me they're sorry they did me wrong.

They will never be forgotten
Sing it conway . . . Hell yeah .
This is real country music ... Nothing will ever match the Grand ole Opry gang
Correct. And the fact Loretta wasn't his wife
The fact that this man was never made a member of the Grand Ole Opry is a crime.
The story I read was, he was offered membership, but the Opry required he make so many appearances a year, he felt it would eat to much into his touring
Yes ....especially since Conway had 44 number one hits in the US and 49 in Canada....
Amen to that!
@Zaire Ray no
@Caleb Orlando no you haven’t just another scamming comment.
I feel so romantic too with their actions. Its really so clear how they once loved each other. Oh what a story rolled into a song.
