- JDM Hotline - Are there still good parts coming from Japan?
By Brian Gillespie
After our Midnight Oil episode featuring JDM Hotline (jdmhotline.com) general manager Israel Navarez we stuck around to more about JDM engines and other parts, their availability and checked out some badass cars they had in the shop.
One was Israel's personal ride, a Civic EG filled with all the JDM goodies you would expect from someone who imports JDM goodies. Another was sick RHD EG ready to hit the track. And wait, what!? A JDM Integra GSR with a freaking automatic transmission. Check them out!

For real lol

dude seems like he doesnt even care for brian to be there.... brian is a legend in the honda scene
Dude should be excited that Brian has him on as a guest promoting his shop. Wheres the energy ma dude come on!??!
Guy needs to lighten up a bit ... need to be more enthusiastic 😳💯
Bought my 1jz here and was a very awesome experience. Dude is pretty chill and really honest with his stuff and prices.
I just bought my 1j from jdm hotline. That dude is cool but hes exactly like this in person lmao
This dude is a pillar of excitement! Hopefully things are going well in his life.
Most of the late models in the 90s and 80s came with all-wheel drive whether it was four-door or a wagon and depending on where you lived at but it's always nice to know we can still get that stuff because I have an EF hatchback that I would love to all-wheel drive with some EF stuff makes it clean and simple and zc motors are not race motors to the middle option before the b16 🤘💯 love the great content now back to the show
Good video, not so good Audio
I have owned a 91 captiva blue dxi did all the work on it in the end it looked like your vti it still driving now with 160hp vtec engine and a owned a black '94 Vti eg which I restored in the early 2000's. This garage is a heaven.
I drove 3 ek's now driving a '06 fn 1.8 vtec civic with the notorious I shift automatic. I love how it looks still after being 15 years old, Mine is past 220.000 km. Ishift Working just as crappy as it was new. It like driving with someone who doesn't have the feel for shifting, it is most of the time in the wrong gear too high if you ask me. I can't win a stopping light sprint with a yaris because the clutch takes so much time. On the bright side the clutch doesn't slip even after 220k which is quite amazing. Besides from some clunking noises from the suspension / engine mount it drives nice, I am very tall still can sit Comfortable behind the wheel, great view forward. Backwards not so but I can drive a car, as a mechanic I can park on a dime, the back view could be better, the magic back seats are really practical giving you huge space if needed. Next car for me.... fn2 type R
Are the jdm K24a the same for all its year? Or does it differ too, like the USDM 04 vs 08 k24a2?
Awesome content
Great video!
Guy is as enthusiastic as a rock about his job...I have a crz/r18 transmission project going on, crz gear case with the r18 clutch housing...mated to a Ilx r20 i plan to boost. This to my knowledge hasnt been done and while i know ill need a si shifter im unsure what shift cables ill need to use. Any thoughts..? For those interested, the r18 manual and crz transmissions share the same fd, bearings, input shaft, input shaft seal, gear case, its just the clutch housings that differ between the two..in terms of boosting im looking towards a l15b7 or accord 2.0t setup..
Is there a manual RHD rack option for dc2 subframe?
who makes that front lip/spoiler on the dark blue civic?
I see that del sol cut. I might need that for my mom's del sol. rusted panels.
Trying to find B transmissions, specifically hydro are damn near impossible to find
Any manual rsx halfshafts. I need one.
I have a 8th gen 1.8 no vtec but i had my 3:28 mc guy rebuild the engine now we put the engine back now start the car now itwon't go in no gear its a Auto mactic trans could you tell me whats wrong the car was drivin all the time he did not work on the trany
Haven't seen performance k24a on any jdm website, but there seem to be plenty on ebay. Would you trust em?
Look at their reviews.
Bro how much for the Integra automatic GSR that's sick 😱🤟🤟💯💯
wow those egs
I've never had so much fun getting schooled.
The SIR with Mugen goodness
How much for the HF axle !? $1800. "That's not bad". Lmao
So many B, D and K series on ebay it's like Christmas.
Dude looks nervous as hell hahaha
I wonder if that guy knows takata the harness brand is not a Japanese company. Schroth makes takata harnesses, it not the same company that made the air bags for Honda
That is incorrect. Takata Corporation actually bought Schroth Safety Products in 2012. It was an aquisition and not a merger, which usually means the products continue as is but just under new ownership.
@@TrackSol
The takata air bags are made in Japan?
Lol Bryan gonna make auto swap kits hahaha
Lmao tht dude looks like he forces to do this. Cheer up buddy
He should be working at burger king with that attitude lol
People still mess with the 90's Hondas? I figured the 10th gen civics would be the new pocket rockets.
The turbo GDI ones are really fragile and have oil dilution problems
@@MultiLittlegamer Cool, maybe I have a chance of selling my H22A swapped EG then.
@@Gonzo_Bubb They're definitely decently in demand
If this was a public speaking event..I'd be falling asleep.
My Acty needs that Beat engine!
Aren't they the same engine? E07A?
Unless your acty has the E05A
@@Michael-jq5pf The Acty did use the E07A but it doesn't come with the MTREC individual throttle bodies. It has a single carburetor intake system. Fuel injected models were available but still never had the MTREC system :( That motor would double the Actys HP rating.
@@shane6961 I see. Good info!
Have you driven any kei cars with an f6a turbo? That's the only driving experience I have in a kei vehicle, it was a hoot and im wondering how the acty compares. Obviously less sporty but yeah
@@Michael-jq5pf My 97 Acty is the only kei class vehicle I have ever driven unfortunately. I am hoping to find a few more owners locally where I am in Canada. Would like to drive, review and share the experiences however they seem to be few and far between.
The turbo f6a would definitely be more lively than my E07A carb. Did you drive it in the Carry or the Alto perhaps?
I love Honda's but this video was dull as a hard boiled egg
Hire an audio tech
Brian always comes correct but it was like he had to force this dude to have a convo lol
Dude looks pissy to have this interview
🍚
Personality of a grape. Looks like he hates his job
