Jesus discovered Divinity in himself, he had a great spiritual experience like Buddah did and he found himself to be a part of the universe, of the creation, of everything. He said that there was a "historical Jesus". That does not necessarliy mean they support nor believe in our Christ and Christianity. I went to Catholic school all the way to high school, my high school was Salesian, so we study the differences between religious groups. But the Savior and God and the others all practice being a good person and forgiving as well as try to be the best or be good humans. What an amazing man to speak of our Lord and our Father. And it shows he has studied. Together with thousands of others, I got to leave my body while hospitalized at the age of 9. Many NDE’s (Near Death Experiencer’s) have met God. All I will say is you cannot imagine how blissful it is to be out of the body and in the presence of God. There are no words to describe it. The interviewer(Gabriel Byrne) is highly respected and well established in this role, Bono & G. Byrne are from the same city and are friends for many years, U2 gave the interviewer a Harley Davidson upon his retirement from the longest running talk show in the world some years back. He is 80yrs old and this IS his well know neutral/objective technique for all his guests in the TV series 'the meaning of life'. I'm just giving a bit of context. People are well entitled to give their critical opinion of him from there...as I'm not campaigning for him. Bottom line...Bono believes in Jesus Christ.
God Bless you, Bono, for summing up, in such a simplified way, why you believe in Jesus and that He is the truth and the way to God. I couldn't agree more with you and am so grateful that an icon such as yourself humbles himself to the Almighty by recognizing His existence and sharing your belief with the world; a world where there are many that mock and deny our Creator and his Son. There is nothing hostile about the interviewer. There is maturity in respecting older people, who come from different roots and culture. We would do wise to consider them in their context, and to watch and pray for Bono, a man who has some kind of relationship with the savior,... but who IS actually controlling Bono? I also think people are being a bit harsh on the interviewer, the whole point of the interview is to hear Bono's opinion, and I'd prefer it not overridden by the kind of interviewer that tries to steal thunder.

What an amazing testimony. The key point here is that he accepts and believes that Jesus Christ is resurrected and risen and reigns with God. The misconception forced on Christians is that they have to be pure and perfect. That is always an aim, but not really achievable. Christians need to strive to live a Godly life, but I reckon that God knows we are going to fail regularly. He still loves us, so don't think that you are in heaven one day and out the next. If Christ is in your heart, he is there for good, unless you publicly denounce him as God. Your future is secure. Living a rock and roll lifestyle must be tough as a Christian, but credit to Bono because I think this interview has led so many people to the Lord. God Bless you Bono.

Well spoken - good answers. He's obviously read CS Lewis. I do worry about putting famous celebrities "out there" as spokensmen/spokeswomen for things like this however. Something is true or not true regardless of whether Bono or Madonna or Oprah or whoever believes it or doesn't believe it. And often the celebrities are the least able to give a rational defence for their faith. Thankfully, I think Bono does a decent job.

Scott Campbell I think people need to do a little more than read and understand the Scriptures to improve the world. I think, if you don't do what it says, all you've done is qualify yourself to be a hypocrite. Some of the world's most nefarious characters know what the Bible says - they just don't act on it. If I read a speed-limit sign that says "Maximum 60 mph" with perfect comprehension - and then drive 150 mph - what good did my understanding of the sign do? It just made me more culpable! It certainly didn't improve the town's traffic safety. Similarly, if I can tell you that Exodus 20:15 says, "Thou shalt not steal" - and then I go rob a bank - my knowledge of and quotation of the Bible has just made me a hypocrite AND a thief. Byrne are from the same city and are friends for many years, U2 gave the interviewer a Harley Davidson upon his retirement from the longest running talk show in the world some years back. He is 80yrs old and this IS his well know neutral/objective technique for all his guests in the TV series 'the meaning of life'. I'm just giving a bit of context. People are well entitled to give their critical opinion of him from there...as I'm not campaigning for him. Bottom line...Bono believes in Jesus Christ.

We would do wise to consider them in their context, and to watch and pray for Bono, a man who has some kind of relationship with the savior,... but who IS actually controlling Bono? What an amazing testimony. The key point here is that he accepts and believes that Jesus Christ is resurrected and risen and reigns with God. The misconception forced on Christians is that they have to be pure and perfect. That is always an aim, but not really achievable. Christians need to strive to live a Godly life, but I reckon that God knows we are going to fail regularly. He still loves us, so don't think that you are in heaven one day and out the next. If Christ is in your heart, he is there for good, unless you publicly denounce him as God. Your future is secure. Living a rock and roll lifestyle must be tough as a Christian, but credit to Bono because I think this interview has led so many people to the Lord. God Bless you Bono.

Well spoken - good answers. He's obviously read CS Lewis. I do worry about putting famous celebrities "out there" as spokensmen/spokeswomen for things like this however. Something is true or not true regardless of whether Bono or Madonna or Oprah or whoever believes it or doesn't believe it. And often the celebrities are the least able to give a rational defence for their faith. Thankfully, I think Bono does a decent job.

Scott Campbell I think people need to do a little more than read and understand the Scriptures to improve the world. I think, if you don't do what it says, all you've done is qualify yourself to be a hypocrite. Some of the world's most nefarious characters know what the Bible says - they just don't act on it. If I read a speed-limit sign that says "Maximum 60 mph" with perfect comprehension - and then drive 150 mph - what good did my understanding of the sign do? It just made me more culpable! It certainly didn't improve the town's traffic safety. Similarly, if I can tell you that Exodus 20:15 says, "Thou shalt not steal" - and then I go rob a bank - my knowledge of and quotation of the Bible has just made me a hypocrite AND a thief. As James would say (paraphrase), "we need a little less quoting of the Word - and a little more doing of the Word".

No religious group on Earth today are More persecuted than Christians . I believe that Most people are aware of what events transpired the Last time this were true.
