    Ginger and green tea do the same thing as aspirin 81mg daily.
    Do you know that aspirin (active ingredient ASA) is now derived from crude oil processes in a lab. Used to be derived from Willow tree bark. What does this say about its quality? Ask your doctor.

    • @pramuanchutham7355
      @pramuanchutham7355 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Willow tree bark aspirin is too mild and too slow, so synthetic aspirin is used instead, with strong chewing effects on GI-tract and brain artery walls.

    Aspirin i can say saved my life..before a doctor prescribed me maintenance medicine for my hypertension.. just 3 days of taking medication it resulted to blood clotting on my vagus nerve.. immediately when i noticed pain i took aspirin and less than an hour im well and never had blood clotting again

      Pine bark extract has similar anti platelet sticking (CHF) as aspirin but without internal bleeding issues of aspirin. It also provides nitric oxide to help blood flow easier in the arteries. If you wsnt to thin down your blood, take Gingko Biloba extract or Serrapeptase(eliminate excessive fibrins).

    I’ve been taking it since I was 19, when it was first reported in the news c.1981. However I always took it on a full stomach. Since then, family history (Dad had coronary bypass in his 50s, his mom and dad had cardiovascular mortalities earlier), plus my own cholesterol and hypertension (successfully maintained with Rx last 20 years) indicate I should still take aspirin daily. Plus I take Rx fish oil - is that too much blood thinner taking both?

      Too many lives lost, including my two buddies from strokes, due to aspirin and doctors still prescribe like candies. Blood vessel problems can be cleared up with vitamins E(tocotrienols), folate(B9) and K2.

    How does one know that he/she won't bleed internally with chronic use of baby-aspirin? I lost two friends to baby-aspirin in their sleep due to strokes.

    Doctor can I replace my Aspirin intake with EPA and DHA supplement and raw garlic with honey? My cardio prescribed me to take Nebilet half and Aspirin 100mg daily but Im 35, slim, has good cholesterol and blood pressure but both of my parents died of cardiovascular, and 3 uncles of stroke. I'm just worried about my kidney. I don't feel anything bad in my body and I have a good diet just vegetables, fish and no meat. I was diagnosed of Congestive Heart Failure 2 years ago I hope you will enlighten me.

    I've had this question for awhile have heard new advice is quit taking aspirin. I've been taking it 4 about 20 years and now in my 70's no history of heart disease so I'll continue 81 mg per day. It's super cheap at Costco.
    All medical advice is correct until research changes the medical establishments' mind.

    I take 81mg aspirin for cancer prevention. I was reading that vegetarians naturally have higher amounts of salicylates, which prevent cancer. I am not vegetarian, so I take my aspirin. And sometimes I skip it, but I might add 1/4 tsp of willow bark to my tea, or perhaps 1/8 tsp on grape seed extract. Cheap insurance.

    I heard aspirin along with Niacin (b3) is good for your arteries. Apparently its best to take aspirin 3 times a week after food at night. I'm someone who's blood pressure is always between 145 and 155...so that's moderate hypertension if I'm correct. My dad and grandmother had stents and tachycardia so I want to do what I can do not go down the same path

    I am a type 2 diabetic. I use a higher dose of Vitamin E. I make sure I get the RDA of Vitamin K. I feel like this acts as an anticoagulant "blood thinner" and it helps with lipid peroxidation.

    39 yr asian indian male here family have cholesterol and heart disease. Last few years have'd very high LDL and always 250+ TG even with clean diet and exercise not helping much, been taking baby aspirin everyday over a year and it is life changing, never had heart attack or blockage yet but can literally feel the difference 30 + mins after taking it not only feel calm and better in center but also helps me get better mood overall. Not taking few days would give me little chest pressure and sometimes even high heart rate at night causing trouble falling sleep unless I donate blood every 60 days. Never had bleeding issue yet, I think I will keep taking it unless you guys think otherwise? My bp is still in control and no diabetics yet.

      It might help prevent colon cancer in people at high risk. But it is not well proven.

      Hi Amin, you can put your details in this tool to see whether or not aspirin makes sense for you: sparctool.com
      If a person has any two of the following: heart failure, high blood pressure, age greater than 65, female sex, vascular disease, or any one of the following: age greater than 75, or history of stroke / TIA, then warfarin or other strong anticoagulant is used.
      If a person does not meet criteria for warfarin, I will often use aspirin.

      Hi Raymond, if person is on aspirin and brilinta for recent stenting (within one year), I will continue them in spite of the splotching (they are bruises). I basically say the same thing to my patients, that the bruising is cosmetic. If person is greater than one year after stenting, I might consider stopping the brilinta for bruising, but generally I don’t. It depends D.D. some on how many stents are in place, and which arteries, and age of patient, etc, etc

    Then what were the original studies findings? Lol

    • @CardioGauge
      @CardioGauge  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The folks who came up with the new recommendations hypothesize that aspirin isn't as helpful now because cholesterol and blood pressure are better managed now than in the past, when previous trials were done. Also, before the recent studies (late last year), aspirin for primary prevention has been a controversial topic, with most studies having pretty unimpressive results. This is a study from 2009: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19482214
      There were 3 studies in 2018, none of which supported the idea of aspirin for preventing heart attack / stroke in people with low or moderate chance of this happening. The studies took about 10 years to complete. These new trials are called ARRIVE, ASPREE, and ASCEND. Thanks for your comment

    • @REDDAWN2010

      I'm betting the same could be said of Statins.

    • @CardioGauge
      @CardioGauge  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The most recent statin primary prevention trial was HOPE 3: www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa1600176
      It was run by Salim Yusuf, a Canadian guy who is legit. It showed benefit of moderate dose statin. It was drug company funded, which is one of the biggest issues with the statin trials. The benefit of statins in primary prevention is overstated, and over represented by the medical community. However in my opinion, statins can be useful in prevention for people at high risk. What is not known is how statins compare to aggressive lifestyle change, in terms of prevention. It seems likely to me (as I think you are pointing out) if we trialed statin vs real, long term, lifestyle change, statin would lose. Unfortunately the trial will never be done to lack of $$$$
