The US army's 81 mm mortars have a range of like 5600 m and the 120 has a range of 7,200 m
You actually can reach out and touch somebody with mortars. They got great range
If we were being realistic with it, the mortars would have been the first troops to start firing and the Abrams probably would have been the second followed by the Apaches And They should be firing a good while before the regular soldiers have a chance to even see the enemy
I think if you're not gonna make a historically accurate history film, just make fiction. this is where misconceptions come from.
Thats a totally fair opinion, but I think Napoleon is being held to a higher standard than pretty much every other historical drama that embellishes

@@DaleyTacticsIt's less about what it embellished and more about what they left out. A Single Movie was never a good idea, should have been Three Movies. Rise, In Power, and Downfall all separate movies. A Series or Mini Series even better.
Or go with The Critical Drinker's suggestion of it being a Josephine movie because the movie was about the relationship between the two rather than Napoleon himself.
The problem was mainly it was a bit of a Bait and Switch.

I know people were complaining Napoleon wasn't historically accurate and that's a fair assesment but even apart from that I just thought it was bad. I didn't feel anything for Josephine, I didn't understand why they loved each other, they just "did". The movie felt like it was trying to be too many things and a master of none. It wanted to be a summary of his military career but also a love story but also a character piece and as a result some of the major plot points of his life were rushed with little build up or attempt to capture the audience's emotions. Man even Napoleon's personality was all over the place, he was brave but not brave, stoic but not stoic, loving but abusive. And I get it that a good character has contradictions but none of those contradictions led to any personal redemption or any payoff with his character. It was all so strange to me.

i would say the humans on the roofs count as there were some aliens on the rooftops, meaning they can kill the soldiers making it fair.
Be better if the Apaches roamed the battlefield or had an area of operation instead of holding in the rear

I think the mortars killed the most. Maybe by the next time less from them to balance?. I don't know.

I would say humanity lost and thr apaches came back and picked up the remaining men on the roof and fleed the city before they did a danger close mission and dropped hella jdam on the citys that were loss.

7 million down to 100K is too big of a loss to even continue against another few thousend soldiers and attach helis…

Apaches can’t pick up anything. They are attack helicopters no room for anything other than the flight crew.

You should do a predator vs aliens fight
Do a battle where 10 or 100 teslas lead the lightning aliens. 10 or 100 John Wicks lead modern soldiers. 10 or 100 auto archers lead an ancient army like Spartans and Roman’s. And 10 or 100 Cleopatras lead Egyptian army’s. 10 or 100 German sniper hero unit lead Germans. Then have them battle each other. Basically more than 1 hero unit lead a respective army

Part of the problem with the dramatization is many people don't know better and they start to believe some of it is historically accurate. Young people today are quite dumb regarding history and the world. Just watch a video of when they ask basic questions to random people. Yes, they cut out many of those who get it right but even still...
Many people who only know Chernobyl from the show genuinely believe Europe was in danger of being rendered "uninhabitable" for 10,000 years by a nuclear explosion. That's scientifically inaccurate nonsense, but most people don't know, they believe the show, and now you have a generation of young people who think Chernobyl (2019) was a documentary
so annoying not seeing the ending, its like watching someone attempting a world record, but then not showing whether they do it or not and just leave it up to a guess

zealots were way to over powered for how many of them their were.
The Zealots were too powerful for their numbers. But if you wanted to keep them, you should have added in APCs into the smaller city. The troops had to get there somehow....

Napoleon is a bad movie. Bad acting (Phoenix didn't seemed convinced of his role), no historical facts, boring story. Even the battles were bad, especially Austerlitz': it is one of the most documented battle in history and yet nothing in the movie is even close to what actually happened. Really disappointing, given that the last duel was actually pretty good.

Let me get this straight. Aliens with the power of travelling light years to invade earth, dont have air support? This battle was over before it started and in reality, the death count of aliens would have remained low. There's no simulation going on here, just pipe dreams of only melee aliens. Even if these are xenomorphs, transported here, they are not accounting for all methods of attack and victory. Humanity loses either way.
