I loved this show and the book and I thought it was so well done. I hope all of the nominees win, but I am really pulling for Alexander Skarsgard. Such a complex character that he handled so brilliantly.
Totally agree! If I were handing out Emmy's - It would Skarsgard Supporting, Kidman Actress, and Laura Dern Supporting (she made me laugh so much as her character)
So...popularity wise, I think Reese Witherspoon is definitely more the "America's Sweetheart" type to the average person, but I can't help but notice that in interviews, candid moments, etc. Nicole Kidman seems so much more laid back, devilishly funny, and self deprecating - yet for years she was thought of as an Ice Queen. Think you could probably say its role reversal in these two womens public personas and actual personalities. I live close to Nashville and hear stories quite a bit about both Kidman and Witherspoon (both have Nashville ties).
Jordan Smith I've met Reese plenty of times and she's been nothing but condescending and rude to, not just me, but to everyone around her. She acts like she's sweet and perfect for the press but what you saw from her disgraceful arrest was the person I've met a couple of times. With Nicole, even in interviews, she never comes across as fake and seems as sweet and humble as she makes herself out to be.
So...you are saying what I have heard countless, countless time around here (I live only about an hour + from Nashville). Kidman however is regularly is in Target, the Mall, etc. in Nashville and is just friendly/normal/non-diva-ish. As some have joked, "She just seems so happy to not be in LA and with Cruise" haha. Even have a buddy that is a waiter at a posh restaurant close to Vanderbilt where they eat at a lot and said she will chit chat with the servers about THEM, ask about their families, takes the attention off of herself...they are stunned b/ c they assumed she would be like the other famous blonde with Nashville ties...Reese W.
I think the best thing that happened to Nicole is that she married Keith Urban. Keith is one of the greatest musicians going today and doesn't have a phony bone in his body. Since marrying Keith she seems so relaxed and happy. Keith wouldn't have married a phony
I think having read the book, Celeste talks about the intense passion and love that they have for each other. She desperately loves him, and most victims of abuse find it hard to be hurt and then reconcile that pain with the loved one as purely negative. They love you but they're hurting you, and it's really difficult to get past that. Celeste in the book also talks about how fantastic as a father Perry is, so I guess as Nicole Kidman says it's those things that keep Celeste there as she seems them and the viewer/reader is supposed to see that too.
I mean, he does. He's horribly flawed and irredeemably violent, but he also provides a good living for his family, tries to be a good father, goes to therapy to work on his marriage, and does appear to genuinely care about his family, even if he channels his insecurities in completely abusive and predatory ways. He's not a good person, but he's not unidimensional either. That's why the character is interesting.
I'm absolutely sure. Nicole & Alex. flirting at bakcstage. If you see Nicole looking at Alex. The way she looks at Alex's was something. poor keith, I think keith is suspicious of them. But he didn't want to say it at loud. Because of his children. What a decent man... Keith didin't know what kind of woman she married.
I think Nicole & Alex had a secret affair. If just noticed. Poor Keith. Nicole found a new a victim of her unfaithfulness. I'm not shocked if one day. Keith will divorce her too. Remember? To her biography written by james dickerson. She cheated on him. That's why he dumped her. "Once a cheater always been a cheater. This bitch deserved to alone forever.
