At the beginning of Sandrock first coming out for Early Access, I was planning to just wait until full release. But each day it gets more and more difficult to resist the temptation
There is already so much content so it's totally worth it!
In my opinion it's the best roleplaying game ever made. It's a 4 player game, so adding 3 diehard roleplayers does the trick.
I always run out of topics to roleplay about, but with all the npc's knocking at your door, asking for help to make the town a better place, roleplaying comes easy. Owen came asking us to build a large moon logo for his restaurant. While we were gathering the materials to do it, we discussed why it had to be a moon, what Owen's idea is of having a flashy sign above the door. Due to gossiping, we took 3 hours to do a 1 hour job.
I deeply love My time at Sandrock.

i've always wanted to play my time at portia for the longest time, so i'm definitely bumping it up in my long, long backlog! as for time at sandrock, i actually love a lot of aspects about it, but i think i'll wait until it has even more work done to it, so i can fully immerse myself in it :D

That's a great idea! I feel like Sandrock will take at least a year to finish, if not two. So in the meantime, Portia would be awesome to play!
I'd like to say that I was really addicted to My Time At Portia until got stuck in some quest that needed an item that simply didn't appear in those ruins (i think It was The elevator Quest - don't know If it's The real name hahaha). Even it's a bug fixed in newer versions, i'm really afraid that things like this happen in Sandrock cause It was so much frustrating

That is truly frustrating especially if the bug comes up later on and cannot be fixed. Hopefully this time around the devs have much more experience in dealing with these!

My time a Portia was a game with many systems. It's was lot to deal with. Once you learn the systems and get a routine ...it's pretty good and gives you lots to do

Happy Birthday Ms. Bubbles!!! Had no idea My Time at Portia was getting a sequel. It was a game I was always interested but then AC New Horizons came out and that was my main life sim focus. I dig the whole western vibe this game is giving me, I may end up picking this one up when it's console ports arrive or at the very least try it out. Will have to wait and see if the NPCs get more of that oomph!
They announced it a while back and then had to push the Early Access for a while. I get it though with AC taking up all your time. It did that to me too so I was playing RPGs only along with it, not other life-sim games.

I wanted to play Portia but heard the loading screens were a real bummer… sounds like Sandrock suffers from this, too. I loooove all the customization options…. But holy crap it can be a time suck for me. All of a sudden it’s three hours later and I’m still picking a hairstyle 😂

Loading screens for Portia on Switch were horrrrrible. On PC it was super quick so I expect it to be better with time. And yessss I had to limit myself and not go crazy with that customization cause everything has sliders and options 😍

This was me with My Time at Portia and then with this, I had to STOP myself so I do not burn out on it cause I know I will get obsessive with the game. Cannot wait for full release either!
Too bad they postponed to november. Adding multiplayer made it take 2 more months to make it ready for release. But that's totally worth it. What's better than being deeply obsessed with a game? Being obsessed with it together!
I like the game. It have great character customization and critters are fun. I like fishing and the enviroments more in portia and the water tank is annoying.

Just assign one of your players as the water collector. Focus on collecting water and keeping the tank filled, so you can focus on other things.
yeah that combat looks a little rough. i can see that and i haven't even played it yet. a friend of mine recommended i try my time at portia so i did. its a nice chill game so im glad to see there is something else like it. thanks for bringing this to my attention looks interesting. It's actually improved a bit from My Time at Portia. Buy both games if you haven't. Both are excellent.
It's still rough combat but the game is also not an action RPG so I kinda understand. We just need it to be a bit more responsive and that will be excellent.

What did you play it on? I have it on Steam and didn't experience any crashing or floating camels... the FPS did drop when looking down at herbs and stuff though.

Only reason I didn't have fun with Portia was the characters, they were terrifying to look at, and not engaging. Sandrock's cast is charming, they are enjoyable to look at, they still feel robotic to some extent but much less so than Portia, and the city feels more naturally integrated into the world... I loved all the crafting aspects of Portia, but to me not being able to personally bond with the characters and city due to their design was kind of a killer... these are life sims after all!

I really enjoyed this game and still playing it. I am hoping the online multiplayer comes out soon.
I think they were beta testing multiplayer (not sure though), so should be coming soon

Okay the mining is cool. Not the biggest fan of the overall theme though. When playing the first game, I was getting excited to see
what a more fleshed out version of it could be with maybe a bigger green world so that’s disappointing. One thing I’m not liking about slime rancher currently is the whole wasteland vibe of it. But with Splatoon 3 on the horizon it looks like maybe that vibe is coming back. At least it does make things feel a little fresh and new and different though. Almost like when I first played borderlands.
With the first game being kind of rough around the edges, I have to be skeptical about a sequel but your character is cute and watching this gameplay makes me want to load up the first game again and play around the bugs. I just hope this new one has more polish so I can love it!
I can speak from my experience and as a lover of My Time at Portia that this one is phenomenal and so fun to play!

I really hope the switch version of this game is better then the switch version of Portia. That system isn’t strong but should be enough for this kind of game. I’d love for this one to be a smoother experience I can actually get into.
Yeah Portia was a complete mess on the Switch, there was no way I can play it there. I only played on PC instead. I hope the team has learned to better optimize for the Switch after their last experience
@@MissBubbles my wife got a switch lite and loves stardew so I am just trying to find something else she’d enjoy. Anything with too much combat is a no though it’s got to hit that sweet spot that so far only stardew has lol. Portia was so close until I heard about the performance stuff.
I have high hopes for Bear and Breakfast for her.

I still like Portia better over all, though there were some things I like better in Sandrock.
They have the info text over the UI, so you can't see the stuff under it, like what you need to make... It's frustrating.
I also like mining better in the older one, her aim in Sandrock is just bad, so it's hard to hit what you want, and I liked being able to tunnel before, but the buildings get in the way of that here. I can have her light pointing right at something, and she is hitting something behind her for some reason.
Most of the characters were more ...competent in Portia as well. I feel like almost everyone in Sandrock is either incompetent or just plane stupid.
I do love that you can build more things, while your stuff in still in the boxes, but they need to expand that even more. I just hope that Mi-an and I can take over the guild, and run Yan out of town. ;)
