You obviously didn’t watch the clip properly, he banged the piece because he realized he was low on time. He then went off on a tantrum because he just threw away a game for nothing when only moments later it could have been a draw. Watch the clip again.

But if you watch it in slow mo you will also notice that when his clock went down to 1 sec he still hadn't touched his bishop...In order to make a move and not lose on time you need to touch the piece at the 2 second mark to be in time not to flag. If you start playing your move at the last second, you always lose.

Instead his coaches and his parents have failed him in these regards and that's more than likely why he's the spoiled brat sore loser that he is. If you can't handle it and can't be dignified and respectful to your opponents and the game..then you have absolutely no business playing.
Well we've seen players three times his age do similar stuff; he's just a kid. This is not to say this kind of behavior is acceptable over the board, but it can be understandable when a child loses control of his emotions in moments like this- he has a lot of time to learn to control his feelings, I hope he does it...

Each second in this video equals 32 frames. The kid hits the clock on frame 28 of that second, i.e. there are four more frames to go before the clock goes to 0. Four frames equals 125 milliseconds. 1/8th of second. That kid got robbed by the clock. ;)

There's bound to be ~0.1-0.2 delay between button pressed and clock response.

Bcz it wasn't a 3 fold repetition. He offered a draw when they repeated 2 times, but Averin declined by moving the piece to a different position.
