I've got a younger friend at work that thinks the Pacers organization is trash and I had to explain to him that we've actually been a pretty decent franchise overall. We've had our high moments during Peak eras like taking Jordan's balls to Game 7 in 98, the team that made it to the finals in 2000, the team we were bringing to the floor in 2004 before the brawl in Detroit happened, taking Miami to the Limit a couple of years in a row in the mid-2010s. We have never bottomed out completely or tanked. Are bottoming out was getting the the 9th or 10th pick in the draft or some shit.
And now we are set up for the next 5 years to make a run especially if we can add a piece
you do not, they beat a team that had neither of their 2 best players who completly carried the team, and then then beat a knicks team with 3 players out and 4 others on pain meds to just play, they are a meteorke team who isnt even gonna win a single game against the celtics

The refs gifted them the entire series against the sixers and tried their hardest to help the knicks against the pacers, they cried and complained their way to a second round exit, they don't deserve any credit for what they did.

Dedication
The Pacers were 4-1 vs the Bucks and Giannis in the regular season and they were 3-2 vs the Knicks. The Pacers only won 3 games less than the Knicks. The Pacers were 2-3 vs Boston, but they they haven't made the playoffs for 2 years. I'm just happy they landed in the Eastern Conference finals. I already provided evidence that this wasn't as big a fluke as people claim based on the regular season head-to-head. Brunson broke his hand down by 22...in game 7. That sh*t was over.

Why we using regular season scores as evidence for your claim? By your logic the suns should have beat minnosota. The playoffs and the regular season is two different games to the point where they hardly correlate
People are forgetting that they made it to the Final in the In-Season Tournament. They've been showing up

Not sure if you read the ESPN article on sleep deprivation among NBA athletes Kenny, but it laid out how there actually is a science to freak accidents being much more common with fatigue and sleep deprivation. People understand degenerative injuries from overwork or too little rest, but that article referred to a study of athletes in the offseason and in-season about how they got so sleep deprived during trips that their testosterone levels fell to the level of old men, and that low testosterone and sleep deprivation made athletes much worse at proprioception and spatial awareness of all the various parts of their body as well as reflexes, so it was much more common for things to happen like them landing after a jump differently than their muscle memory normally would so the force of it damages their knee more than it does every other time, or them not getting their body parts out of the way when falling down the way they reflexively would, or the muscle memory of how exactly they'd roll when falling to not hit their shoulder/tailbone or how they'd be able to get their face out of the way of someone's elbow when at the rim being a bit off, or them planting their leg in a slightly off way when pushing off for a non-contact tendon injury, etc
So it's not a coincidence that freak accidents seem more common later in the season or when players are more overworked. Thought you'd find this interesting because it's a pretty big aspect of NBA basketball and you know ball

I’m a Pacers fan and I was swearing we were gonna be a first round exit until I found out we matched up with the Bucks. Then I expected them to lose in 6 here 😭 just a matter of having the best case scenario and actually hooping when it matters most

As a Pacers fan I’m just happy to be here. This is close to the best case scenario for this season already. But the arrow is still pointing up! 2 of our 3 highest upside players didn’t even play in these playoffs. Still a really young team.
I’m so proud of my guys. Yes the Pacers benefited from injuries but you can only play who is in front of you. A team full of 23 year olds in their real first playoff runs took care of business and earned this. Even if they lose to Boston this was a hell of a run in year 2 of the rebuild

Pacers are having an incredible run! They have so many games where they just couldn't miss. 70% from the field is ridiculous! Their defense has stepped up a ton from the regular season as well. I can't wait to see if they can keep it up against the Celtics defense.

I think im addition to talks about mins i think we should talk about how the players played in those mins. Trying to draw fouls constantly through contact or even flopping is going to result in injury. Idk if that is on Thibs or the players though. Personally not a big fan of how the knicks play but it sucks this was how the season had to end.

Their offense didnt go down because of the siakam trade lol it went down because of haliburtons bad hamstring injury that happened around then, haliburton just recently started being able to shoot well again. With siakam and haliburton healthy they still have by far the best offense

Pacers fan, I understand the injuries in both series and I hate that for those teams but thats just apart of basketball. Not going to let it take away from the first ECF trip of hopefully many more for this team, Boston is extremely tough so Im not expecting anything out of this series, but Im extremely excited for the future of this team. As a 25 year old Knicks fan, I'm not upset. A bit disappointed considering how well we looked all regular season, especially after we acquired OG but more than anything i'm glad that I enjoyed this season and can actually go into next season with some hope for the future.

Not true. The Pacers are young and have guys that haven’t met their ceiling, unlike the hawks. Mathurin has been out. Jarace Walker is a rookie projected to be big time. A lot of our rotational guys are 23-24 or younger.

I didn't expect to make the Conference Finals but I put our ceiling there at the beginning of the season
Celtics vs Pacers is a weird series where I don't think we can predict what will happen. Celtics are scary, but the Cavs and Heat both took a game. Meanwhile the Pacers are one of the most unpredictable teams in basketball, and you can give some credit to injury luck, but it wasn't just that that got the Pacers here. Anything could happen in this series and I'm here for it.
