I find it quite ironic that decades before fantasy strike, rising thunder, and skullgirls came in to 'simplify,' and 'tone down the execution barrier,' there was already a series where all supers have universal inputs, throws can be avoided, manipulated, extended, done from behind, done during a dash, movement is pseudo-3D, there are only 3 attack buttons, the defensive options rival those found in a guilty gear game, matches are short, blocking uses a common sense approach, and though there are indeed only 3 attack buttons, characters manage to have pretty extensive move lists, and the game tells you how to do all moves, all combos, all defensive options, all the combos right there in training.
Would've been nicer if @AcidGlow added timestamps or a character order in the description. Also, I think June did the Happy Black Hole super first, before the Big Bang. I think her ring super was the "Happy Black Hole".
Growing up I was always a playstation guy so dreamcast was hard to get for me but when Marvel 2 dropped, I loved Hayato like a lot and when I did his level 3 raging demon and saw Black Hayato for the first time I was like "YO WHO THE FUCK IS THAT?????" and thankfully I had somebody mention it to me. Searched out Plasma Sword and was pleasantly surprised. Really wish Capcom gave more love to their other IPs man, they had some great gems around those formative years
Boy, do I miss this game. My favourite characters were Rain, Bilstein, Hayato, Blood and Luca Also, at 5:21 is she giving you the middle finger during the flamethrower super?
Shaker's supers are perfect, especially the drone guns super. Shooting up someone with three float guns will never not be cool. Unless you're the one being shot up.
