Phlinger, its not the AI to ramps that's the problem; it's the ramp:wall seam. Place single ceilings extending from the walls and hang ramps from the ceilings.
It appears that the creature has to (programatically) align to a _floor_ before it can fall off a _ledge_ over an obtuse angle 😉
I learned this after trying to get a stego into my taming raft for 25 mins
While taming 2 tickle chickens using the old ramp trap I found if you use an argy and go right to the end of the ramp while flying let then hit you and the will fall to the corner of the ramp and if you fly forward they will walk/fall into the trap takes some effort but it worked both times

13:39 if you stop right there at the top of the ramp with the Argent you'll see the dino move to the side of the ramp at that point let then hit you and then move forward a little bit they will try to move and hit you again at that point they should fall into the trap from taking a step to get an attack on you
11:49 I noticed you went into your inventory to get the ramps out. Try holding Q to bring up the alternate hot bar. This hotbar tends to prioritize building. Structures seem to automatically fill this hotbar. It’s a good addition to ASA
My q bar misbehaves! I try to draw my weapon, and instead end up eating kibble or spoiled meat. EGAD!

@Phlinger a lot of my crashes were caused by water/foliage interaction being on, once i turned it off, i went from crashing every 10 to 15 minutes to none. maybe that helps you? keep up the great vids!
Argentavis are all named "Agent Davis" in my games.
We're still waiting on console but from watching yours and other's vids it doesn't appear to be the *up* they don't want. The AI no longer has them dropping off sheer drops of any size for the most part. The anky was happy to start following you up the ramp until you dropped into the trap. I've noticed the same w multiple YTers so far. Will test more when game drops for PS5 ;)
Ramp traps still work, you just have to let things chew on you little more. Also, with the argy you can pick up wild baby trikes and stegos (if they are quite small). Haven't tried baby rex's so I'm not sure on those, but maybe?
Afaik argie can basically pick up any baby, yeah. Haven't had an issues just stealing baby everythings lol

Hey Phlinger, I have another "for science" for you. Instead of placing your walls and such directly on the ground (and Ark thinking it is a cliff), put them on foundations. I haven't had problems using that method on foundations. I got a tickle chicken to walk up a 3 x 2 ramp and drop into a 3 x 3 pen last night without issue. Might be worth looking into to determine if it is an issue with "ground" versus "foundation".

Try a longer trap with a way down into it you may need to pull the inside ramp.
yea i noticed creatures dont like falling over clifs or ramp like before if there is nowhere to walk, they will try to pathfind to you instead of falling of the cliff or ramp, i think we will actually need bear traps now, and using the gateway trap example and then close the door behind them while they are stuck on the bear trap

I really don't understand why you had so many problems with ramps because I have a classic ramp trap and it works fine for everything I've wanted to trap so far.
He has problems cause he’s not running down into the trap so Dino’s can follow. He stops on top of ramp so Dinos stop too.
I’ve had issues getting them following me into the traps also. That’s with me running up the ramp and into the trap, or using a flyer with them chasing me. I had trouble getting a red all the way up a ramp and I’m. I had to try many times because it turned around at the top.
@@falseshepherd-490 probably because it didn't bite you recently, i think in asa creatures are losing interest too soon, you gotta attack or get attacked frequently to keep the chase on.
The issue is the angle at the ramp:wall seam; i had to put cielings in between them for creatures to align so they can run/fall in .. prolly a bug, but the workaround work like a charm for me
I found that if you leave the door/gate open, they will go in because the AI sees a way out and doesn't perceive "the trap"! Then as you drop in the Dino will follow so you have to resist closing the door until the Dino drops in but if you close too early, the AI "sees" the trap and does all it can to avoid it!
The solution to the walk in trap is to put ramps up on the outside, ramp down on the inside, then run around and yank the ramp out from the side access quick so they cant go back up it.... yes its a bit more of a faff but it is still do-able ... even easier if you have a 2nd player waiting to yank the ramps out once the dino is in.
I got a ramp trap to work on my private server and caught a Saber in that area.
Wait the ramp trap doesn't work? I used it for a carno while on a raptor since they fit through the doorways now. I did have to sit on the top of the ramp till it followed and 1 high worked.
13:43 maybe the trap works without the stone fence foundation. Just with stone floor insted?
You need those cloth gloves to use as bandages for all the injuries from the (It was an accident!) you inflict upon your tames!

You can always just lure them in the gate then shut it when they are in

For the record, I got a thery to follow me up one of those ramps. I can be done at least with the right creatures.
Should try placing a flat roof at end of ramp
Can always just put a caller door atop the first trap.
Make the trap longer and go in and have the ramp with all 3 wide!
I realize I am an episode behind... But you could totally use this hidden door/walls and not have to deal with door frames for the taming pen

I know for sure that they changed the AI in that when you start to tame something ussually ( at least every time for me ) somethign wilkl spawn in and eat your tame if it isnt protected als oif you go to protect your knocked out dinio the attaker will still go for that instead of you so you acnt distract it I have lost so many dinos now because of this and it is frustrating .
Also I have yet to find any of my gear after I die and goi back the last death skuill is ther but no bag and I have died allot so much that i can only comepair it to when I first started to play ark years ago
Don’t crash while flying because when you come back you won’t be on it and dropping to the ground you go.
