Yeah the environment being more detailed and smaller I think was definitely a feeler for them. Also, the surfaces feel completely different. It's like the weiy and momentum physics are the same as FH5, but the friction and viscosity of tarmac, sand, and water are more prominent like FH4.
Same here, China should neither be Supported nor Tolerated, if it is China, I will neither Buy nor even play it on Gamepass, I would not even Dignify its Existence by Pirating it, and Microsoft will lose a Customer, I may even buy my first PlayStation since the PS3! I am that Opposed to China as a Location, it is *Repugnant* in the Extreme!
I remember wanting horizon 5 to be in Romania, mainly just because of the Transfăgărășan, but also Eastern Europe would be a really cool and unique setting. However my main suspicion was Brazil, another unique culture with its own very unique car culture (imagine all the cool Brazilian cars they could add, Opalas,VW Sp2, etc). Personally I think Mainland Europe would be an awesome setting, Germany, Poland, Romania, etc would be epic.
Heres what they should do. You start the game in a world region that you pick as your starting zone. Have one for each N America/Mexico, S America, Europe, Africa, Asia\Japan\China and Australia. Then as you level you gain access to another region, like how the radio stations are. And have each region favor a little more to something. Like have Asia\japan\China region favor drifting more. Africa and Australia regions favor Offroad. N America/Mexico, S America favor Cross Country. That would keep the game fresh because each region would be like playing a different game. And then you could merge Motorsports tracks in and have it that you do Horizon type stuff to gain access to motorsports stuff.
I hope for Europe, somewhere around Central Europe (Slovakia, Austria, ...). Here are tight roads, hills (mountains), many turns, beautiful cities (with modern and historical parts), astonishing nature, ...
They really need to give it justice if they're gonna base it in China or Japan for that matter... Cuz you would need to feel like being there (like with the Test Drive games), and not scaled down - a proper 1:1 scale of China is prob too much, but a 1:10 scale could be possible
Japan would be the best idea but also if I remember right I believe the VUHL was a tiny hint towards Mexico when it came as one of the last cars in FH4
Let’s hope not. While China still remains a very communist country, continuing to support them shows ignorance to their actions. Much like Russia’s actions, the world (including playground games) should condemn their actions and not continuing supporting their economy.
Wasnt the new feature in the Rally Expansion the new sand mechanic ( how it would react when you land a jump / how it would spray to the side when you steer? If that is a hint to the next location, then maybe it could be hinting to the Middle East perhaps, Maybe even the UAE / Dubai? I could easily see that being a logical location. A total random, but also not too far fetched location could be South Africa, Could also utilize the sand mechanic. Though the sand could just be more of a next gen console update like the tire smoke.
It's going to be too similar to Mexico tbh, trust me, i went to brazil many times, it's beautiful country with beautiful people, but it will be so boring For Horizon
Honestly i think Brazil has a strong chance of being the location of the next FH. Brazil also has some really big waterfalls. Iguazu falls for example.
I don’t thinks politics is a consideration for Forza. For example, how much of the real Mexico is in FH5? There’s not even any graffiti that mentions anything contemporary at all. It’s just a playground Playground Games after. One that requires zero thought to zoom around in. That’s exactly what China could be. As long as there were no Pooh Bah paint jobs or exotic animal markets. Some of the scenery in China is gobsmacking gorgeous and that would relate to some aspects of hot wheels, where different eco zones are seamlessly integrated.
If it is China I WONT BE PLAYING. For personal and human beliefs. I just can't support a country who dedicates itself to destroying and crushing it's own people. Almost anywhere else except for maybe north Korea and im good lol. The fact that theyve been putting so many chinese vehicles kinda points to this guess though. Disappointing.
I hope the Chinese things that have happened in FH5 is to butter up the Chinese so they don't abandon Horizon when it goes to Japan. If it turns out to be China then I'm out until FH7. It's slightly better than Russia, but still not something I will sponsor.
Starting to think about it, china would be a very good map, big cities, forest, beautiful mountain ranges, as he said waterfalls, beautiful architectures actually all of a sudden i want horizon 6 in china
It does not need to be Said. Horizon is the Big One! it is the System Seller! it is the Golden Goose, it is *the* Xbox Title at the Moment, so, if it was going to be this Year, it would have Headlined Developer Direct! as it was not shown in Development Direct, I take that as a Pretty Tacit Admission that it is not coming out this year.
@@tidierpenny Hmmm, Good Point, FH5 also seems to be "Slowing down" Lately as well. a Terrible Update followed by a "meh" update, that means either Mike Brown is back (Shudder), or, more likely the Game is nearing the point were it goes EOL Ready for its Sequel to take over in Autumn. We will have to see if Microsoft does a "Gamestack" or something in the Summer to replace the now Permanently Cancelled E3, if so, FH6 could well be announced there as way to end the show "With a Bang" as MS always used to end their E3 Showcases on a Headline Displaying of the latest Forza Game due to Forza's Status as the Console Seller for the Xbox. I just hope PGG have had the good sense to 1. Scrap the Eliminator so it does not Ruin yet another map by turning it into a Bland and Featureless Pancake in order to support that mode. 2 Drop the FOMO Playlist Nonsense and go back to the old Model of Straight to Autoshow for returning Cars and Paid DLC for new to Forza/Horizon Cars (as FH5 does seem to be pointing towards a Return to that model lately) , 3. Use the Old Graphics Engine (as at least it actually works properly!) 4 make the Game much more focussed on the Roads again with a lot more Hazards and impassable terrain away from them to make cross country a bad Idea (like FH2 and Rally Adventure basically) and 5. Set it in Europe again as Horizon is always at its best (2/4) in terms of Scenery and "coziness" when it is set in Europe.
@simeonyves5940 I also thought it was slowing down to some degree. They're using a lot of community events in the festival playlist. While that isn't a bad thing, it may mean more focus is going towards the next game. There is only so much they can do with that one, I personally don't find the Mexico map that diverse. I did read that during one of the recent official xbox podcasts, it was confirmed there'd be some sort of showcase in June. It's apparently Xbox's biggest event, so would certainly make sense to reveal at that show. I'd personally love to see it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who found the map bland, I didn't find it diverse like the previous games. I don't mind the festival playlist idea, but it's been poorly executed. To avoid the FOMO thing, which I do not like at all, they could even be added a month or two after they originally release if they want to keep it. That way, it'd give people who want to grind it a reason to play, and then players who don't could just buy it a little while after. As you do say though, it does look like they're returning to car packs. I personally prefer the look of Horizon 4 to 5. It looks much more vibrant and there's much more colour to it. I 100% agree with your last point too. The roads could be incredible if they spend more time on them. Europe would be perfect. France and Italy had such a nice, summery atmosphere and the United Kingdom had the diversity, helped by seasons. Europe is perfect for those as well.
@@tidierpenny FH5 is indeed clearly slowing down when I think about it. Yes, there is rather a lot of Eventlab content in the Playlist Lately, this could be because the Default Routes, to be honest, are not very good (due to the absolutely illogical road layout that feels like it may well have just been thrown together at the last second due to over-Prioritising the Eliminator to the point they may well have forgotten to add the roads until the last second) , or it could indeed be due to FH5 running on a Skeleton Staff while the main PGG Team Focuses on getting FH6 ready for Launch (and it had better be Ready for launch this time! I am not going to be very pleased if they launch a broken Game again like FH5 and FM2023, I am fed up with Games Launching in Beta...at best! Playground? if you read this, do not let FH6 out of the House in a State that is basically the Coding Equivalent of having its shirt untucked, its tie draped around its neck and its shoelaces trailing along the Floor... make sure it is actually "Ready for School" before letting it out of the House this time! make sure you have tucked in its shirt, tied its tie and double-knotted its shoelaces first! in short, make sure the Game actually works properly! before launching it!) , indeed, I think they have done all they can with FH5 as it just left so weak by that Woeful, Bland, Flat, Boring Map! If they are doing Gamestack again to Replace E3 (I am kind of Sad E3 is gone actually, I know it was a very pale shadow of its Former self towards the End, but I still used to love E3, especially the Forza Reveals when they would drive the Real Life version of the Cover Car onto the Stage!!) , and, indeed, from that Podcast you mentioned (I do not listen to them however as they keep talking about Games that are of the kind (Violent) that I personally want nothing to do with ever again!) it seems they are indeed doing a Gamestack this year, then, as Horizon is the System Seller for Xbox and Gamepass (with Gamepass clearly gearing up to replace the Xbox itself as Microsoft's core Gaming Platform), it would certainly make sense to Reserve it for the Big Main Headline Corporate Event (Gamestack), rather than just a Secondary little event like Developer Direct, as a "Showstopper" Finale and get everyone Excited for the new "Digital Only" Xbox Series X Brooklyn. If they Drive a Supercar onto the Stage towards the End, then that is going to confirm FH6 as the Showstopper! Yes, Given that FH5 did make some marked Improvements under Torben Ellert last Year (Starting around Rally Adventure and Midnights at Horizon) and recovered a lot of the old Horizon "Spirit" if you will, and with FH6 being Torben's "Baby" from the Day the first 0 and 1 were coded, I do want to see the Full Expression of his Vision for Horizon, as Hopefully it will be a *lot* more like Ralph Fulton's "Ultimate Driving Holiday" Vision, and nothing like Mike Browns "Fortnite with Cars in it" nonsense! "Bland" is about the Politest word I can find for that Barren, Dead, Featureless, Rusty, Hideously Ugly, Filthy Dirty, Abandoned, Dusty, Baked, Sand Pancake of a "map" . I find the choice of the Mexico setting, as it not only has all of those issues, but is also so Alien that, given how Abandoned, Dirty, and Rusty it all is, even after over 2 Years, they may as well have just set it on Skaro from Classic Doctor Who! it would have had the same Effect! to be utterly Inexplicable, Its either Dead, Dirty, Abandoned ancient little town, Dead, Baked, Dry Abandoned Farmland, Dead, Abandoned, Overgrown holiday resort, or Overgrown and Messy Jungle... it all just feels the Same and completely Post Apocalyptic! as if there has been a Dalek Invasion or Something! I find Festival Playlist to be a Mind Numbing Chore Chart, so even without the FOMO I would Object to it quite Strongly, as it is just a Job!... the FOMO just makes it even Worse, and by a Considerable Margin! Indeed, a System of the Cars getting added to Autoshow Precisely one month after their Initial Playlist week would remove the FOMO while still giving an Incentive to do to the Chore Chart. I would however, rather the Game got its Lifespan from a Really Good Map, Wonderful Atmosphere, Superb Race Routes, and being a Game I actually want to Play, (and maybe, if they can work out how to do one at the now Microsoft Mandated PEGI 3 Rating, a Story.. they did it with FH2 after all) like FH2/3 and 4 at its Core...before Mike Brown (who, IMO, in clearly not even knowing a 2JZGTE from an RB26DETT, was utterly Unsuited as the Creative Director on a Racing Game!) ruined it with the Chore Chart and Lego and the Eliminator and...Ugh! rather than a Boring, Job like, Chore Chart! I had enough of those things at School all those unmentionable numbers of Years ago. (Lets just say I left School around the time Porsche released the Carrera GT! so I am getting on in Years!) I do hope they are Returning to Car Packs, goodness knows I am not the biggest Fan of Either Live Services or Paid DLC (I am very old fashioned and prefer "Content Complete from Day One" but know that is once in a blue moon even at best with AAA Games!) but, given a choice of Paid DLC, or FOMO mechanics (which I Personally feel should be made *illegal* !) then I will take Paid DLC every Single Time! as I said, I will Tolerate Paid DLC, while I want to see FOMO made illegal along with MTX and Lootbox Gambling. Something is very wrong with the Lighting in FH5, its very Bright and Harsh and it makes everything look very bleached and washed out, FH4's Warmer and Softer Lighting resulted, indeed, in much Deeper, more Vibrant, Colours, HDR just Pops in FH4, while it just makes 5 look Bleached. I Concur, FH6 needs to be Designed like Rally Adventure, around its Roads, Designing the Roads (and the map they are in) around the Car List a-la Motorfest, rather than a Gimmick Mode, would be for the Best I think, and indeed, they need to make Cross Country a Risk, a Bad Idea, so players need to use the Roads, thus forcing the Developers to Prioritize making Roads, like the ones in FH2 (I have *still* yet to see, in any Open World Game, a better Road than Nice-Castelleto in FH2), ones that Players will want to drive on! Certainly, Summer in Europe really does have that Special Holiday Atmosphere, and the Scenery is far more Diverse, as there is Forests, Hills, Valleys, Dales, Rivers, Mountains, Modern Cities, Ancient Towns, Beaches, Snow!, .. its not just all..."sand. sand. sand.sand.san.. Cheese and Crackers where did that Jungle suddenly come from!?!" like 5, and I agree, Europe being extremely Seasonal means its not just going to be 4 Weeks of Dead, Dry, Heat like 5, to the Point I cannot tell which season is which anymore outside of the Scripted "special weather" here and there, but Distinct, every Week feeling like a whole new Setting like in 4! I just hope they do not overdo the Rain or Snow this time as they did overdo it a bit in 4. There is much of Europe still to cover too! the Baltics, Iberia, Scandinavia, the Balkans, Greece, Central and Eastern Europe, the Black Sea, there is a lot of Europe that PGG still needs to Visit, and that is going to need more than one Horizon Game too as even with the much higher Power of a Series S when compared to a Base Xbox One, 400 KM2 is about the Biggest they are going to be able to push the map to! They could also go Fictional if they wanted, a sort of "what if Tamriel was in this world, with humans only, rather than a Fantasy world with hobgoblins and stuff, and it was 2024 rather than 1224" , the McLaren Solus would be a good Cover car there, and, talk about a Show-Stopper by sending the whole Auditorium Deaf with the Judd V10 when they Drive it onto the Stage and Rev the Cylinder Heads off it to show off that full 1990's F1 Shriek it has!
yess, FH4 DLC's brought the trailblazers, treasure hunts and mainly the accolades With FH5 Hot Wheels DLC, the most important things that came with it are the water particles (from things like the waterfalls that Jake mentioned, passing through clouds that gave you small periods of rain) but most importantly, the progression through different classes, on which you started at B class and work your way onto X class, with things like objectives and qualifiers for each class, that's def something we can expect for next game. And lastly with FH5 Rally Adventure DLC the main thing it brought to us was tighter and more complicated roads in comparison to the base map, elevation changes, ofc rally mode with notes and timers, and most significantly, the selection of different teams that specify on a certain type of gameplay, with 1v1 races as their endings, these are also likely to come up in the next game
yeah i was thinking bout that too, Germany would be awesome, imagine if fh6 was set in brazil, that would be bloody boring, the only thing good about brazil is the food
I don’t think Germany is a location, since they banned google street view around 95% of the country, so if they did Germany it would be small, or they would do a FH 2 and have multiple countries
I want it to be in Japan or anywhere we’re it storms/rains and Snows all over. I’m sick and tired of Sandy deserts are boring setting for a racing game just my opinion. I want proper seasons back I’m sick of the same season Dry heat and I want more Snow winter is my favorite season in horizon. It was my favorite in FH4 i always looked forward to Winter season. ❄️
@@DanielWinterflood i really do think Japan would be the Coolest place it has Everything huge city’s mountains seashore all around winding roads huge highways with Snow & extreme storms and weather conditions & looks gorgeous. To me Japan would be the perfect option.
Ah yes, China, the place known for its car "culture". For the love of God, if they put Horizon in China before Japan, I'll riot. Japan has a rich car history reaching back to the 60s. Japan has the tuner scene, European import scene, and American import scene. Japan has amazing car meets and a rich lineup of manufacturers to showcase. Japan would give you twisty mountain roads, tight city streets, and coastal highways. The only factor missing would be rally, but being a fictional part of Japan, they could go crazy with an offroad rally area, Japanese forests around Mount Fuji. Just imagine a Goliath starting in a Tokyo night setting with a light drizzle, then flying through the suburbs to the Japanese countryside, to climbing the twisty Mount Fuji roads, then racing down the other side of the mountain, to end in a sprint down a coastal highway back to Tokyo as the sun rises. Forget China, give us Japan.
As I sad before - don't forget, if the japanese government says no, you can wish it all you want, it won't ever be a location in a game. Or it can be, without any cultural or geographical references.
@@MisterMonsieur check out the copyright text at the load of FH5 - and tbh any game with real world locations. You need to have a licence to feature named/national locations (like the Guadalajara locations in FH5) in your game - and if the licenceholder (usually tha ministry of culture/national heritage or similar - hence the government) don't gives you the licence you can't do anything about it. Yes, you can have a game in japan - but you wont have the Tokyo Tower or the Himeji castle, or any named landmark of the country in the game. So basically you can say it's in japan, but you won't have any distinct features what makes it Japan. And yes, you can make a deal with businesses, if you wish to feature a privately owned property, ofc. Edit: forexample, this is what I'm talking about: 'The consent of Tokyo Tower Co Ltd. is required for use of any products or business related to service, production or sales which make use of Tokyo Tower properties, as well as all advertising and media making use of Tokyo Tower properties.' So you need to make a deal with said company if you wish to use tokyo tower as a landmark in your game.
@@MisterMonsieur For Forza Horizon 5, Playground Games required permission from the Mexican Government and tourism board to license locations in Mexico.
Impossible. I’m Chinese, and car culture over here is heavily oppressed. Even simple stuff like changing rim size is illegal. There hundreds of cameras on every road monitoring your average speeds. The government would hate the idea of a game where the sole purpose is to fly around in 1000hp custom cars, causing havoc everywhere.
Good, the more Obstacles against PGG setting the Game there, the better, the sooner Playground Recover their Senses and Return to Europe, the Sooner I might, might, consider potentially buying a couple of months of Gamepass to try the Game out, Instead of just slamming down a Boycott.
Choosing china over Japan would be suicide. If this latest update which is chinese themed, ended up being as controversial as it did i dont even want to imagine the fury the community will unleash centering an entire game around china.
Japan already suicide,2006 Shutooko Battle X aka Import Tuner challenge failure of Japan market for Xbox 360. If Japan care about Xbox all we got horizon long ago.
@@kevinmorales9795 Funny thing I mentioned that years ago to some people complaining how forza didn't go to japan for fh3, all I got was along the lines they dont care it wasn't forza
I suppose anywhere with a motorway/highway or a long straight road will make the cut. Japan, for example, has Route 12 which is 18 miles (29 kilometres) long. The highway in FH5 is about 10km for context purposes. Next generation would allow for longer roads and therefore, greater sense of speed and more besides. *Did a goof - National Route 12 is 84.3 miles long in total BUT the straightest section, Bibai-shi to Takikawa-shi is 18 miles.
China sounds cool and all but I think Germany would be a much better place, it can’t have the Nürburgring though or else the whole game would be set around that. Germany is a great location with all the car culture, architecture in the cities, and wilderness.
I honestly would prefer China over Germany, or any other interesting asian country, like Malaysia, or Singapore, even Indonesia is so beautiful I think the next FH needs to be in Asia
I hope so because nobody not gonna really care next year we getting gta 6 I say this year would be perfect around November or December they should release it.
While China is a beautiful place with a range of terrain that would surely be awesome to drive around, I’m not a fan of how much T10 seems to be pandering to Chinese companies (which are inseparable from the Chinese government) with all the very new no-brand cars being added, just feels like they’re selling out right in front of us

When you look at China, it makes a lot of sense why Microsoft has been leaning hard with their partnership with China. China recently has had a BOOMING economy in the current century now and they had a presence since the 1990s in terms of business. The problem that was stopping Chinese customers from buying Microsoft's products was the home console video games ban which started in 2000 and was lifted in 2013. Once it was lifted, the players were able to play video games from the 8th Gen onwards which also included the Xbox One. Since Turn 10 seems to be WAY ahead of their planning, they likely wanted to do stuff with China for a while, but wanted to be able to get this franchise to become noticeable to their potential customers. If you look at the car lists, FH4 had some Electric Cars which was something that was prominent with some of their Chinese Cars. So as a tester, Turn 10 likely asked for licensing for Rimac and RAESR to see what our reaction would be with these cars. WE LOVE THE CONCEPT 2!! That is why we got more Electric Cars in FH5. It was very similar in FH3 with the Morgan 3 Wheeler, which explains why we got a lot of vintage classic and quirky cars in FH4 - like the Napier Railton and our fan favorite Peel P50. So with that being well received, it makes sense why they want to focus on their Chinese customers. They were happy with the technology and the experience of video games, but felt sad that there was a lack of cars that were made in China that occured now with their booming economy. So as a way to encourage those customers, they practically hit TWO birds with ONE stone. Not only did they add in these Chinese manufactuers and their cars to help promote the market, but also as a test for their existing players to see how we would react to cars from China, like the Wuling Sunshine, the NIO EP9, the Xpeng P7, the MG MG5 and the Lynk & Co 05. Guess what, we LOVE the representation, the designs + we also NEED everyday cars. That is why we got more with the Chinese New Year Series we are in currently. Are we going to China in FH6? Simple answer... *YES* indeed. China has a GREAT variety of environments, roads, architecture and style. Remember, this was a country that was known to be quite ahead of its technology in the ancient times. The problem was that the country never really thought about sharing their businesses and cultures with people outside them. With technology rapidly developing in recent decades like internet, video game consoles, medical systems, food, and even now electric cars, it all adds up to a booming economy. China now realises that they need to share those experiences with other people and create businesses that they can share it with. If you look at why we want FH6 to be set in Japan in the first place, the most obvious is the culture and its ancient architecture. While Japan is great, China does all of that on a HUGE scale!!! The two expansions in FH5 not only tested out things like the Career Mode that we have been dying for a while, but they also tested out the scales of waterfalls and the map's verticality in the Hot Wheels Expansion, but also to test out how well we go with tight narrow roads in the Rally Adventure Expansion. If you combined them together along with the existing features, China is practically the PERFECT PLAYGROUND for a Forza Horizon game. We want big cities, we want ancient architecture, we want amazing environments, we want a HUGE map, we want amazing roads, we want better representation, we want car culture, and we want amazing cars. You can't get that in Japan or Brazil or Germany or Sweden or South Africa or... Russia, you get that in *China* . My decision is final. It's China, period.
Really hope not. Japan would be better, has a large car community. Very long motorways and twisty roads. They like all kinds of cars in Japan, JDM, Muscle, Supercars, etc. China is more focused on fully Electric cars.
I feel like most players haven't caught on to the subtle hint that the time when PG went ahead and added in the Event Island (which many people is actually considering it sort of like an unofficial 3rd expansion), keep in mind it was basically a series update where they added in an extra part of the base game map instead of a typical dlc where they add in a whole new seperate section, which is my main point here. That could very well be a brand new feature for FH6, where they finally incorporate later in life base map altercations, whether it's new islands or even roads altogether. Also since we'd be fully optimizing for current gen only and no longer restricted to last gen techs lags and freezes, pg might even finally be able to make one if not two of their expansions connected to the base map via driving into it instead of solely just by teleportation.
@@captpootis8495 IIRC they Removed Ranked because it got so Toxic it came danger close to breaking the 2016 Hate Crimes Act Legislation in the UK, as a Result, It will most likely never come back unless they can find a way to Detoxify it first!
I would love for the map to be Singapore, like a 1 to 1 scale replica of the country. Singapore isn't the biggest country and I'm not sure if it's too big but with the maps getting bigger with each game it would be a nice thing for them to put in the ads lol

Forza Horizon cant do populated cities. They have never even use stoplights. Hell they had a hard time even having a drag tree in the game and had to remove those.
As Chinese player, although I think China is fully qualified as the location for the next Horizon game.(mainland) It has a variety of terrain and many great places. But there are many complex political issues involved in doing so. Unless Microsoft has a very, very strong relationship with the government or reaches some cooperation, 99.9% of it is impossible to be in mainland China. I think it might going to be some where mid or small size city, and there will be one or two mountains and open land that can be driven next to the city. Because this can save a lot of work and money. 😂
Because the government wants to make Hainan Island “more open”, just like Shenzhen before. Besides, Hainan Island has the opportunity to have all the map elements that Horizon players want, except that it won’t snow. If we start from the clue of the waterfall, I think the location may be Yichang.(宜昌)
Hopefully horizon 6 won't be "ONLINE ONLY" if it is that's gonna be a massive "L" especially for those of us who don't have wifi or any internet at all. Just saying
While this video shows some possible locations for Horizon 6, There are actually 1 other locations that might be great for Horizon 6 (in this sense is that I wouldn't mind trying) and that would be South Africa, 1 thing that is glaringly clear in Horizon 5 is that the developers wanted to show places that has a lot of animals and have great breathtaking natural wonders while at the same time also has 4 seasons (this is referencing the 4 seasons that were introduced in Horizon 4 but are quite lacking in Horizon 5 in my opinion due to the absolute uselessness of the Snow Tires unless you are in the appropriate place. If we look at Horizon 1 through 3 the pattern is that it goes from west to east, and if we look at Horizon 4 & 5 the locations are currently set from North to South (UK is in the Northern hemisphere while Mexico is located near the equator), And lastly, Horizon 5 has shown that the Developers are trying to capture unique car culture that are rarely mentioned by most people. Based on that I wouldn't be surprised if Forza Horizon 6 is set in South Africa. Please feel free to correct me.
My thoughts, few days ago was exactly China, due to number of chinese cars added in recent updates. This country as a destination of next Horizon game is very plausible. But, personally, I'm not the big fan of setting. Most of fans probably prefer Japan over China, and Playground Games could think that China is close enough to Japan to please the player, what is fact may happend, but I think it won't. But also I'm not sure, If I want to drive nice cars, in game, set in country which... you know. Mix agressive capitalism with communism, have ambitions to set society control system and has "re-education camps" on its territory... My second thought about destination is somewhere in Middle East. Egypt, UAE or Bahrain. Mostly because of second DLC to FH5 and presumably tests for large off-road areas. But I think this won't happend.
I have a strong feeling that it is going to be China, just because all the chinese cars they are adding, as well as the drones show we have in both the main map and the rally expansion. I might be crazy, but that's my guess. Edit.1 - I have watched the full video now, at least I am not the only one thinking it is China hahaha

I’m thinking that the next Horizon Game is going to be set in China. I was doubting Forza Horizon 6 was going to be set in China in 2023 because they didn’t add barely any Chinese Cars to FH5 that year. But, my doubts for FH6 set in China are gone. What are positive things if Forza Horizon 6 was set in China? 1. China is the Country Ranked as number 1 of having the biggest Expressway (Superhighway) System in the world 2. There are many Modern Cities with Skyscrapers 3. China is very diverse and has every landscape that an average world would have like Deserts, Rainforests, Modern Cities, Snowy Mountains, and Beaches like we have in Forza Horizon 5 right now I’m hoping that the Highway or Expressway in Forza Horizon 6 will be at least 18 Miles Long in Length. I hope for the Highway there are tunnels like the Highway in Forza Horizon 2 and Forza Horizon 4 had, I hope there is a massive bridge on the highway like the bridge we have in FH5 right now, I hope the highway goes through the whole map, I also hope that the Forza Horizon 6 Highway has toll gates before going on the highway like the highways in China does in real life and when you get at the end of the Expressway there will be a toll gate. That’s what I hope happens in FH6 if it’s set in China. I hope there are many new to Forza/new to Horizon (Cars Only From Forza Motorsport 5, Forza Motorsport 6, Forza Motorsport 7 & Forza Motorsport 2023)/Returning Cars (Cars Last seen from Forza Motorsport 4 & Forza Horizon 1) Cars at launch. I hope we get at least 50 New To Forza Cars at Launch, 25 New To Horizon Cars (Cars seen only in FM5, FM6, FM7 & FM 2023), and 25 Returning Cars (Last Seen in FM4 and FH1). I hope we see more Normal Cars in FH6. We have been seeing Normal Cars in FH5 getting added and I’m happy about that. If Forza Horizon 6 gets released in 2025, I’m hoping that all the cars that are not in the Autoshow in FH5 yet will get into the Autoshow before FH6 is announced at Xbox Live Studios in 2024 or 2025. Hopefully if Horizon 6 ends up getting released in 2025 hopefully we can have a showcase of Forza Horizon 6 in June this year.
The Japanese Government is Notoriously Hostile to Western Publishers and Developers, so they could have possibly said No to a Horizon Game being set there.
The rally expansion was probably a test bed for if people would like tighter roads
True. Also the new sand
Not sure about that tho. I think when that expansion released they were probably fully into the development cycle of the next Forza already.
You can also go through EVERY tree, even the thick 1s
Yeah the environment being more detailed and smaller I think was definitely a feeler for them. Also, the surfaces feel completely different. It's like the weiy and momentum physics are the same as FH5, but the friction and viscosity of tarmac, sand, and water are more prominent like FH4.
Another factor is Elevation changes. That expansion had pretty good elevation changes, as it was never flat. There was variety.
Switzerland would be great
Maybe another multi-national map picking the best of Asia?
Setting the next Horizon in China is an excellent way for me to be guaranteed not buying it or even downloading it from gamepass.
Exactly! Same here. Not even joking, I would want NOTHING to do with it.
Yeah , it would be great , but to create so many maps and land marks would take years , 5 or 6 years at least ....the game would have 250 GB memory
Yeah, and the developement will be 20 years, and the game will cost $250.
Agreed, if it is China I will *not* Purchase!
Kudos for speaking the truth.
@@dyoung5690 Indeed. Massive Kudos!

I hope it will be in china, if it can't be in Japan
I would love the wuling mini ev looks so fun watched ar12 video on the championship series they look like a laugh would love to give it a try
Maybe they tried experimenting with tighter roads in the expansion, as they are similar to Japan. So touge can be a thing?
Test Drive SC: CHINA!
FH6: CHINA!
NFS 2027: CHINA!
China 2030: We takin' over.
I wouldn't mind the Motorsport psychics in Horizon. Make it a touch more realistic.
Though the sand could just be more of a next gen console update like the tire smoke.
they never listen to the community when it come to location
Brazil would be crazy 😳😳
It's going to be too similar to Mexico tbh, trust me, i went to brazil many times, it's beautiful country with beautiful people, but it will be so boring For Horizon
Rally for offroad physics and sand physics. Hotwheels for biomes
Honestly i think Brazil has a strong chance of being the location of the next FH. Brazil also has some really big waterfalls. Iguazu falls for example.
It would be too similar to the Mexico map we have now. It should return to America, this time in New England or the PNW.
So long, if there's a proper mix of a metropolitan area and countryside, that's A-OK for me. Kinda like FH3 with respect to the map, but done better.
I think FH6 will be somewhere in Earth
Obviously Japan is the most wanted but I wouldn't mind China or any other Asian country
Truth! With you 100% on that, the use of China is utterly Repugnant!
Ah the rally expansion only 1 true RALLY car the ford focus and the rest was just silly off road vehicles and buggies. Bit of a miss that’s for sure
I would love to see brazil 0:23
Anything but USA is fine. But if they give us empty map like this in Mexico than doesn't matter can be set in Sudan I don't care.
If it were to be China
We would never get Forza horizon Japan
I hope the Chinese things that have happened in FH5 is to butter up the Chinese so they don't abandon Horizon when it goes to Japan. If it turns out to be China then I'm out until FH7. It's slightly better than Russia, but still not something I will sponsor.
I want Germany so bad
They not gonna make a map based on Russia for obvious reasons what's been going on the last two years
Los Angeles would be great
Starting to think about it, china would be a very good map, big cities, forest, beautiful mountain ranges, as he said waterfalls, beautiful architectures actually all of a sudden i want horizon 6 in china
Maybe hong kong?
Tbh id rather China, like Japan's cool and all, but i think China has so many more possibility's for map diversity.
Nonsense! 🤡
Does the Chinese government allow for scanning?
No. Thank goodness. The more Obstacles in the way that cause PGG to give up and just set FH6 in Europe Instead, the better!
Why is it "safe to say it's not going to be this year" regarding the release of the next game? Has anything officially been said?
It does not need to be Said. Horizon is the Big One! it is the System Seller! it is the Golden Goose, it is *the* Xbox Title at the Moment, so, if it was going to be this Year, it would have Headlined Developer Direct! as it was not shown in Development Direct, I take that as a Pretty Tacit Admission that it is not coming out this year.
I understand what you're saying, however Forza Horizon is generally always announced during the summer, for it to release a few months later.
(Lets just say I left School around the time Porsche released the Carrera GT! so I am getting on in Years!)
I do hope they are Returning to Car Packs, goodness knows I am not the biggest Fan of Either Live Services or Paid DLC (I am very old fashioned and prefer "Content Complete from Day One" but know that is once in a blue moon even at best with AAA Games!) but, given a choice of Paid DLC, or FOMO mechanics (which I Personally feel should be made *illegal* !) then I will take Paid DLC every Single Time! as I said, I will Tolerate Paid DLC, while I want to see FOMO made illegal along with MTX and Lootbox Gambling.
That would be fun if fh6 is set in India.

Career mode was tested a lot on the both DLCs, Fh5 progression was based of FH4´s Lego Adventure DLC
yess, FH4 DLC's brought the trailblazers, treasure hunts and mainly the accolades
With FH5 Hot Wheels DLC, the most important things that came with it are the water particles (from things like the waterfalls that Jake mentioned, passing through clouds that gave you small periods of rain) but most importantly, the progression through different classes, on which you started at B class and work your way onto X class, with things like objectives and qualifiers for each class, that's def something we can expect for next game.
Greece would be nice for FH6. Gorgeous scenery and many dirt roads ideal for rallying.

Spain wouldn't make sense at all. Too similar to Mexico in geography and architecture.
I don’t think Germany is a location, since they banned google street view around 95% of the country, so if they did Germany it would be small, or they would do a FH 2 and have multiple countries
Theyll probably do it in the Artic 😂 Homerdoh39

@@atis5203 And again, that's absolute nonsense! The gov't has no veto or authority. 🤣
Edit: forexample, this is what I'm talking about:
'The consent of Tokyo Tower Co Ltd. is required for use of any products or business related to service, production or sales which make use of Tokyo Tower properties, as well as all advertising and media making use of Tokyo Tower properties.' So you need to make a deal with said company if you wish to use tokyo tower as a landmark in your game.
@@MisterMonsieur For Forza Horizon 5, Playground Games required permission from the Mexican Government and tourism board to license locations in Mexico.
@atis5203 there's a very simple solution to this, use a fictional version of Japan. Don't name your city Tokyo, name it a generic Japanese city name.
"Controversial"
its just Chinese new years.. what is controversial about it? besides the normal suspects making CCP and "Social credit 'Memes"

I live in Germany and trust me it's not that special It would be fh4 but right hand drive
I honestly would prefer China over Germany, or any other interesting asian country, like Malaysia, or Singapore, even Indonesia is so beautiful

While China is a beautiful place with a range of terrain that would surely be awesome to drive around, I’m not a fan of how much T10 seems to be pandering to Chinese companies (which are inseparable from the Chinese government) with all the very new no-brand cars being added, just feels like they’re selling out right in front of us
Not to mention the genocide they are committing against the Uyghur population in china by forcing them into death camps.

That would be sick, if they also add ranked back then im in. I wanna get to Grand Master again lol.
FH4 DLC's brought the trailblazers, treasure hunts and mainly the accolades
With FH5 Hot Wheels DLC, the most important things that came with it are the water particles (from things like the waterfalls that Jake mentioned, passing through clouds that gave you small periods of rain) but most importantly, the progression through different classes, on which you started at B class and work your way onto X class, with things like objectives and qualifiers for each class, that's def something we can expect for next game.
And lastly with FH5 Rally Adventure DLC the main thing it brought to us was tighter and more complicated roads in comparison to the base map, elevation changes, ofc rally mode with notes and timers, and most significantly, the selection of different teams that specify on a certain type of gameplay, with 1v1 races as their endings, these are also likely to come up in the next game
we need either Germany, California, Dubai, Brazil or SA
Better be in Japan ❤
It's probably not unfortunately
Not really a guess but I would like it to take place somewhere in Scandinavia/Northern Europe (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia)
I think fictional country.Japan is difficult. Japanese government and National Police Agency don't like broken the traffic law.
worries me cause theyve been going the sellout path recently with the chinese stuff
Same, I am Extremely Angry indeed about there Bending their knee to the Chinese Communist Party!
Either China/Japan or Scandinavia (but I hope its Balkan cuz I'm from there)
Forza Horizon cant do populated cities. They have never even use stoplights. Hell they had a hard time even having a drag tree in the game and had to remove those.
Same with gas stations or cool big parkings
@adambek1775 that might change for fh6, since we won't be held back by old gen consoles. Plus the new forzatech engine
Nah I can't wait for the russians showcase "escape the nukes"
@@lordcegese1385
There actually was a hint in Horizon 4 that the next game would be going to Mexico. The last car they added was the Vuhl, which is a Mexican car
If we look at Horizon 1 through 3 the pattern is that it goes from west to east, and if we look at Horizon 4 & 5 the locations are currently set from North to South (UK is in the Northern hemisphere while Mexico is located near the equator),
And lastly, Horizon 5 has shown that the Developers are trying to capture unique car culture that are rarely mentioned by most people.
Based on that I wouldn't be surprised if Forza Horizon 6 is set in South Africa. Please feel free to correct me.
Half the Chinese vehicles are just cars they've bought out as theirs, such as the MGs which were originally British, among other things.
But would you call a MG a British car? No

if FH6 is in china theres a lot of people that aren’t gonna buy it, including myself. i’m tired of companies getting cozy with the CCP.
Same, any Company that Cozies up to the CCP is a Company that I want *Nothing* to do with, I will also Boycott.
I will not buy it if it is set in China period!!!!
Same.
Please Playground Games Moscow!❤😅
If it is China, I will *Boycott* !
@@simeonyves5940 or you can just play something else. You are not obliged to play the game rs
@@modzeleski I wish I knew what, there is nothing "on the Horizon" (pun intended) that Appeals to me I am Afraid. It is all either Violent (No thank You) packed with Blasphemy and Profanity (again, no thank you), is utterly Unfinished and Broken (and I am getting very Burned out with Games being Launched Unfinished and Broken) or contains Locations that I consider Repulsive. Nothing Appeals I am afraid.
Bring it back to the states NYC or TX or Flo or cali
Horizon 6 - nordic
Horizon 7 - japan
Horizon 8 - new zealand
It will be really awesome if forza 6 based on Asia
If it is in China, i hope we get tianmen mountain on the map
Personally, I'm hoping the next Horizon location will be in Alaska
China would be a bummer because tdusc is already in Hong Kong
I think Russia is out due to political reasons (too bad, the dash cam insurance challenges would have been awesome), but the player base in China makes it most believable though it may suffer some angst from some players.
So Russia is out for "political reasons" but there's nothing political about China? I'd boycott the game, as many here have said already.

1. China is the Country Ranked as number 1 of having the biggest Expressway (Superhighway) System in the world
2. There are many Modern Cities with Skyscrapers
3. China is very diverse and has every landscape that an average world would have like Deserts, Rainforests, Modern Cities, Snowy Mountains, and Beaches like we have in Forza Horizon 5 right now
I’m hoping that the Highway or Expressway in Forza Horizon 6 will be at least 18 Miles Long in Length.
It's just no use... why won't it just be Japan... ):
The Japanese Government is Notoriously Hostile to Western Publishers and Developers, so they could have possibly said No to a Horizon Game being set there.
I really hope its going to be in Japan. Because of all their great cars and car culture
