I wish they did better about putting a recipe book with it! Seems we get a recipe book for every appliance. There are lots of recipes online thank goodness!
I have found that adding any additional liquid to the food results in soggy food. The food looses it's flavor because it becomes more dilute. I would omit the milk and see what happens. I try and use powered flavors and seasonings, especially if the food already has a lot of moisture. The less water, the better. In your case, the milk was not necessary for your omelet, I believe.

I've made it both ways, and the milk does make it a bit fluffier. More like quiche texture if that makes sense.
