    Dude, I have so much respect for you. That was incredible and you are an inspiration to other people no matter what issue they are dealing with. You are probably sick of hearing people say stuff like that but I hope you realize how important this video is and I just want to thank you.

    Watching this I feel so stupid. "How do paralyzed people get dressed on their own..." THEY ARE CREATIVE! This is just so clever, and of course you find your own way. Just like the rest of us find our own way doing everyday chores. It was cool to watch, thank you for giving insight to an everyday that's different than mine !

      There is recent research on stem cells used to regrow severed spines. In rats at the moment, but more than half the rats regained walking! Hopefully soon in people!

    • @mariadelacruz1153
      @mariadelacruz1153 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stem cells are the key.
      Those cells are regeneration cells, they can regenerate dead/destroyed cells wherever the stem cells are put.
      Unfortunately that method is still kinda new so it is not still used in general medical procedures.
      Stem cells at the moment are just used on facial cosmetology as anti ageing procedure.

    • @jaredkhan8743
      @jaredkhan8743 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mariadelacruz1153 stem cells really are the incredibly powerful. Soon infertile and gay couples can have their own kids by treating somatic cells to revert back into stem cells and then into germ cells. Then theres the whole idea of growing organs using your own cells using stem cells. They really are amazing. Cant wait to see the progress scientists make!

    I looked up this video as part of research for a story I'm writing. I didn't expect to be in tears. I know this video is mostly for people who have paralysis or mobility problems, but it is very instructive, humbling, and eye-opening for me (a non-disabled person) to see this intimate process, which opens up a window on the invisible time and effort that goes into everyday life for folks with mobility issues. You are trying to be of service to fellow parapalegics, but along the way, you have really served other kinds of people as well. I wish you good health and every success. Thank you and blessings to you.

    a useful video about a real problem, paralyzed since little over a year ago, a little more movability, but paralyzed from the waist down, I took about one hour before getting my trousers on (got it down to 20min before your video, now its 5 minutes thanks to you!)
    still can't use shoes, but my upper body strength/movability gets better and better, so with a little luck (and lots of training) maybe?
    this kind of instructions should be obligatory learning for those of us who become handicapped, not having to find out ourselves!
    thanks!.. David..

    When I came out of the orphanage my brother and I were both without stimulation and muscles development meaning we couldn't move from the neck down and my tongue was just hanging out of my mouth. It took years of physical therapy to reverse those effects It's not the same in the slightest. . Im 24 now and I'm lucky today but man you are such an inspiration to everyone . its really nice in these times to see good wholesome content . The fact ur cute doesn't hurt . But refreshing to see someone working hard to inspire take nothing for granted and show the raw parts of their life .

    Today 3-13-18 I saw your video on Getting Dressed. Very good instructional video. After watching it I searched how you became a Paraplegic man. Your narration says it all. Aside from all that has happened its so remarkable how your coping and moving forward with your life. Glad to know your life is going well. I reviewed many of your viewers postings many shared their support and encouragement. Some were a bit bold and suggestive. I too thought that your a handsome man. But, your life is yours to do what you are capable of doing and pursuing. Glad to see that you have found a life partner (wife) and continued work. God Bless you and Thank you for being who you are with such joy for life. Sincerely, a man in Minneapolis, MN .

    Definitely incredible you gotten it down to almost the same time to get ready! I imagine you know how lucky you are you have use of your arms and hands. I've worked in the field of independent living skills with adults with all kinds of "disabilities" and have definitely worked with folks who still need 1 1/2 hours to get ready. It's so amazing to know you are actually the same as every else in that you are doing your best to be as happy as you can be given what you have been given so far in life. As many similarities we have with others, ultimately there are absolutely no 2 people anywhere who are exactly the same. Each of us has a unique story/situation constantly to deal with. Thanks for sharing, it's so great to see all the various ways people learn to adapt given the various situations we can find ourselves in.
